Tamy is theeeeeee BEST. I alway get my hair cut by her but today I decided to color my hair and i left it up to her to decide what would look good and it turned out perfect. She knows exactly how to cut my hair without it having that freshly cut look. Looks great everytime! I highly recommend you call for apt because she is booked up esp on the weekends! Cute little salon super clean and new looking. Come see tamy! I drive all the way from pacifica but she is soo worth it.

I originally met her at Mondi hair salon which is also in Burlingame. She was the most requested stylist there, with the best Unilocal reviews. After seeing her for the first time for a cut I realized what all the buzz what about. She’s AMAZING! She recently moved to Tamer Mickel Salon where I still see her for my cuts. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a cut or color. She’s got an amazing personality!
& I always leave happy!

Only go here if you want to COMPLETELY waste your time! The pompous attitudes, extremely unhelpful stylist and scheduling nightmares are all sure signs I will NEVER be back. Save yourself the trip!!!

Got lucky and just happened to walk in when Tamer got a cancellation. He typically books 1 – 3 weeks in advance and I can see why.
We talked about what I wanted (I’m clueless) and he had some suggestions. They sounded good and he got right to work.
A few clips here and a few clips there. Here a buzz there a buzz. Then a wash wash here and presto. I looked amazing. I know! Not even possible but true.
He gave me a great new style that fit me very well. He was quick and held up a great conversation.
It’s not a barber shop so prices are a bit higher. But you get great results and that, my friends, is what it’s all about.
I highly recommend this place. Just be sure to book in advance.

Tamy is amazing! I’m A girl who wants blonde hair without all the brassy orange colors and she is able to achieve that for me! It’s a process and she is patient with me and takes the time to do my hair right. I never feel rushed and always leave looking and feeling great!

Tamy is amazing when it comes to color and cut! I’ve been following her around for a long time now. No one does highlights better than Tamy! She also does wonderful job with my haircut. She is very kid friendly so my twin girls get a trim every time I get my color & cut! How awesome is that?! Thanks Tamy as always!

Tamy does an amazing job with my hair every single time i see her. I had an appointment yesterday but came in so indecisive, so I just told her to surprise me. I trust Tamy to make my hair beautiful and she did not disappoint! She gave me a trim and highlights with a caramel honey blonde base. This is the lightest I’ve ever gone and i love it! Not only is she super talented, shes also very funny! Such a pleasant experience every time! Thank you Tamy!

I’ve left reviews for Tamy before at her previous salons, but I am writing another one just to share my thoughts on why i follow her all around the the bay area.
1. Look at the pics of my hair…
2. She doesn’t try to upsell me on things i didnt want before i came in
3. Shes honest with me when i ask her what she thinks would or wouldnt work with my look or my lifestyle
4. She has magic fingerssss! I wish she offered scalp massage services. I’d probably come in just for that!
5. She does not charge an arm and a leg
6. Shes sooo funny and relatable!
I could probably go on and on, but you get the idea.
PS. I went from having dyed dark brown hair, to blonde hair, back to dark brown, then red hair, and now i currently have light brown hair with some blonde highlights. As you can imagine, it was not a simple task. Especially when trying to maintain the integrity of your hair. And that is exactly why Tamy has been my hair bestie since day 1!

I am so in LOVE with my new hair color! This review is for April Ann and her balayage ombré. I ended up finding her thru a Living Social deal. I had searched around looking for a good deal AND a stylist who knew what they were doing and Unilocal (along with her pics from IG) led me to the right person! Finding someone who worked (well) with Asian hair was definitely key for me.
What I really like about April is that she is constantly educating you about what she is doing to your hair her and why she is doing it– from the very beginning of the consultation to the end when she was taking pics of my hair. (Which made it to her IG account. Woot Woot!!)
I was surprised that the process only took about 2 hours. (My last appointment with someone else took double that amount!) So leaving the salon while it was still daylight was awesome! :)
She is SUPER easy to talk to and I felt at ease the whole time. I trusted her with my hair 100% and the photos in her portfolio are just beautiful!
I will definitely come back to see her. I’ve finally found the right stylist!

My review is specifically for April Ann. I absolutely love her, so much so that I followed her here from Reconnect Salon. She did a balayage ombré on my hair a few months ago and did an amazing job. She is super friendly and is not afraid to make suggestions, which is good for me because I am really indecisive with my hair. She really takes her time and does not make you feel rushed at all.
Go to her!
The salon itself is very clean and modern. Which is a plus.

April Ann is AMAZING! I recently moved to Peninsula and was looking for someone who specializes in Balayage, Ombré and Asian hair in my area.
My hair was long, black and boring for many years and I wanted something different and fresh. I spent weeks researching for the right hairstylist and waited 2 weeks to get a weekend appointment with April Ann. I’m so happy that I found her!
I went with a lob (long bob) with some texture and Balayage/​ombré. April Ann was really good at communicating and educating you about your hair… from shampooing, styling, and what your expectations are, etc. She is so sweet and you can tell she is passionate about doing hair, especially coloring.
My cut and color came out exactly what I requested. I really love my new do! It’s been 3 days since my visit and I’m still getting compliments.
As for the salon itself, the place was clean and organized. I liked that each station was spread out and spacious. I can talk to April Ann without having to feel that others are listening to our conversation. I will definitely be back here!
And thanks to April Ann for an amazing experience and making me feel fabulous!

April Ann knows her stuff. Not only is she sweet and friendly, she gave me so much insight on what we should do as far as color. I came in with an idea and the end results are something I could not have been more happy with. We even discussed possibly going slightly blonde next time! So fun. I feel confident that after ever future appointment I will leave feeling fabulous
