This is so depressing that I am reviewing this now. I grew up going there all the time. Oh sad town. I know I don’t have to give an on point review here… none of the normal descriptive words. I just got to be slovenly sad and will likely get drunk how depressing it is that seeing this randomly made me bummed. Oh sad town. Best Reuben’s ham n cheese, turkey n cheese… soups. oh poo.

Ive been going here for over two decades. A family favorite! Their pastrami sandwiches are big enough for two meals(I always get it here on a kaiser roll, rather than my standard rye… delicious!). As a kid i always ordered an extra side of pickled tomatos and an order of kiska, which seems to be hard to come by in west coast jewish delis, to go along with my tongue sandwich… excuse me while i wipe away my drool. Havent been here in a while, now that im away from the pennisula, but i think i might have to make a lunch date with the ‘rents and hit up an old favorite.

If you are under 60, you will definitely be the youngest one eating at Brothers. The Bay Area doesn’t have much of a Jewish deli scene. It’s not saying a lot for Brothers that I thought it was the worst I’d tried.

Brother’s Deli KNOWS how to make a meatball sandwich. That’s all you need to know.

Found this place after I had gone to Safeway across the street. I hadn’t found a sandwich place that I liked, Subway/Quizno/Togos/Blimpe didn’t cut it. The décor of the deli is much like a diner, they serve all kinds of stuff, from sandwiches, matzo balls, burgers, desserts, etc. I picked up to go a roast beef sandwich on my first visit, it comes with a soda and small macaroni salad(or potato salad). I also picked up a cheesecake I saw in the fridge window. Brought it home and saw the size of the sandwich, it was huge… the price of the sandwich was comparable to Subway/Togo/Quizno. The bread roll was a little dry. As for the cheesecake, it was NY style… very rich and good. I’ve been going back if I’m in the area.

i come from a long proud line of new york jews, and for over 15 years of my 26 year old life my family… mom, dad, brothers, grandma and grandpa went to Brothers every sunday(even after management changed). I live in sf now, but I yearn to eat the goodness that is their matzah ball soup. The ruebens are no joke, and I forget what its called but the turkey sandwich with thousand island dressing… the memory of it is making my mouth water right this second. Brothers owns, don’t forget to drink some dr browns cherry soda and you are SET

Matzo ball soup. Traditional deli style sandwiches. Too bad it’s so far away.

I used to come to Brother’s Deli with my auntie after shopping on Burlingame Ave. when I was younger. Upon returning not too long ago, I remember it tasting much better before. At $ 9 or so per sandwich, I’d rather eat at a different deli. My corned beef was only alright. Harry’s Hofbrau corned beef sandwiches are so much better.

Not quite a New York deli, but it is not bad for Burlingame, California. The sandwiches are piled high with meat. Try the pastrami sandwich; the potato pancakes are tasty too.

Brother’s Deli has been a family tradition for about 25 years. This jewish deli-style restaurant has apparently changed hands a number of times over the years. The quality is still good, but they were once known far and wide for their sandwiches piled 4 inches high with succulent deli meats– the stuff of delicatessen mythology. My favorite was always the Peninsula which consists of hot pastrami and corned beef and swiss on sliced rye, with a side of macaroni salad and a pickle. Add a side of thousand island dressing and you have a sandwich dream come true. They also have very good matzoh ball soup, potato latkes and granny’s favorite, sliced beef tongue on an onion roll. Believe it! YUCK!!!
