I can’t even give this place a star but you have to at least do one star. Beautiful atmosphere but terrible food. Italian food is supposed to be flavorful and robust. Which it was neither. The food had no taste whatsoever. My boyfriend and I were both completely disappointed.

I hear this place is closing. Hallelujah ! In their defense I have only eaten here once, but that is all it took. Wife had: chicken piccata I had: calzone Attempted Appetizer: calamari We wanted calamari as a starter. It took about 20 to 30 min to get to the table. Clearly visible freezer burn on the calamari. We sent it back. Server tried to save face by saying it came in fresh today but let’s be honest, it’s generally frozen as soon as it’s caught. And if was a fresh box of frozen calamari, a 10 year old would have known that hard white chalk on anything out of the freezer is not good. The calzone: very good. The crust they make is exactly how pizza/calzone crust is supposed to be made and is the only reason they earned one star. When this place goes out of business they should sell the crust recipe to Bison Creek, it might keep them from closing their doors. The piccata: traditional preparation with chicken and capers in sauce and pasta on the side. It’s hard to describe the hockey puck texture of the chicken(I guess I just did). If we had ordered chicken jerky I would have said the dish was on point. Further, over $ 25 for a small plate of chicken with a small bowl of noodles on the side? $ 25!!! Really!!! 1 glass of wine: house red, 10oz pour 9 $. Crazy. I can get better wine at the Sunnydale saloon. Sunnydale does 8oz pours but the Sunnydale always over pours. In turn paid 72 bucks(w/tip) for 2 entrees, 2 beers(peroni 4.50 a glass not bad) and a glass of wine. They didn’t charge us for the freezer burn. Never going back.

Sorry the guy seemed nice, but our regular restaurant there Osteria da Primo was closed tonight and so we tried this place. The prices were high for what you got. I honestly would say go to Olive Garden or Vince’s before this place. The specials were both bad. Chicken Parm looked like it was run over by a car several times and tasted of uncooked flour. The sausage linguine, was bland. The best part was the bread and butter.

The food and people are awesome! If you want true Italian food you have to go here. I had the Chicken Marsala and was like no other! Everything is homemade so you will never have it anywhere else! I would def recommend this place?

I really wanted to like the restaurant as I work in the area. I LOVE Italian food but found the food to be just ok. We were a large party of 9:00 and no one in the party said anything other than it was ok. If they want a positive review from those who know italian food, they are going to have to up their game. We have too many really good family restaurants in the area to choose from. Our service was great and the server that helped our table anticipated our needs and was attentive. they were ready for our large group when we got there for an early dinner at 5:00. We were the first dinner patrons. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I just wish I liked the food more.

The pizza… AMAZING!!!(very small. but soo delicious!) Only issue we’ve had so far… One night we got a pizza to-go and the tall man with glasses said there’s a $ 1 discount for getting a pizza to-go(whoot!) Called the next night(literally wanted the pizza again the next night. so yummy) And I asked about the $ 1 discount — the guy said«No, we don’t offer a discount». He even asked a woman that he was working. they both said«Nope, no discount». So — a little uneasy about what the price will be «depending who’s working». Not consistent.

Had a very nice meal here based on a recommendation from a local. Everything we tried was tasty and it has a warm, neighborhood atmosphere. I’ll return if I’m in the area. The homemade pasta was great.

As stated over and over, service is slow. The place was fairly empty on a Wednesday evening. I ordered a pizza that was pretty good but the pasta dishes looked just ok. But what I take issue with mostly is the prices. Average of $ 17.50 for pasta dish in Burien? Really?

Decent, albeit, unremarkable food. Service was as slow as molasses in January. Won’t be back.

Went with my family. The place was empty. We had to wait an hour to be served. The waiter was hanging out with the other workers and some customers at the bar and completely forgot us. No apologies… No nothing. And then they overcharged us.

I came here recently for a friend’s birthday party. There had been a ‘private dining’ setup for about a party of 25 or so. There is no private room so we were basically seated in a row of long tables by the kitchen. I admit that we arrived late so perhaps we missed out on the ‘experience’ but the food that we were served were just eh. We paid a lot per person to be part of the group and I left still hungry ‘and’ not impressed. There was a salad which came with our dinner but I guess caesar wasn’t an option. The standards were offered(italian, balsamic, etc). I only like caesar so I skipped the salad. Perhaps I am spoiled with having eaten authentic Italian food all over Italy but the pasta here and the entrees were just bland and boring to me.

I have eaten Mina and(the late) Ron’s cooking since I was a little kid; my grandparents took me here to celebrate nearly every major event in our family’s life. It still rates as my favorite Italian restaurant of all time. The margherita pizza is simply the world’s best pizza(and I have tried to find better in Italy and New York City), the Scampi Fra Diavolo is extraordinary, and the cheesecake melts perfectly in your mouth. And I have always found the staff(and Mina especially) to be friendly and attentive without being overbearing. There are a number of reviewers here who don’t seem to understand two things about real Italian food. First, for Italians, meals are an event, not something to rush through. Don’t come to Filiberto’s if you are in a hurry; come if you want wonderful, home-cooked food that enhances time spent with people you love. Second, this restaurant serves actual Italian food cooked by actual Italians, not the so-called«Italian» food served at the Olive Garden or Macaroni Grille that we Americans are used to.(One reviewer below lamented that they were out of a particular pasta one night. Well, that’s because they make it themselves – if there is a run on fetuccine they can’t just open another box like they do at the Spaghetti Factory!) So come to Filiberto’s if you have an evening to spare and taste buds that crave the best Italian food in the Northwest.

My mother in law had a coupon to Filiberto’s so she invited us out for dinner tonight. Got there at 6:30 and there were maybe 4 other tables full. After we ordered we never saw the waitress again. 45 minutes later, I told my husband to ask where our dinners were AND to ask for more hot water for the tea. 50 minutes after we ordered our food came. MIL ordered spaghetti, hubby the ravioli and I a pizza. The spaghetti and ravioli looked like it was out of a jar, runny, barely warm and not even close to «homemade» flavor. It was so sad looking. My pizza was good but by then I was mad it didn’t matter. The waitress gave us 10% off. I told her we’d rather have had 10% better service and food. We’ll never go back again. DONOT waste your time, there are plenty of other restaurants that know how to run a restaurant and want to serve you.

I LOVE Italian food. We were all looking forward to heading out to Filibertos’ new location for my fiancé’s mother’s birthday dinner… and they ruined it. Here is a list of things that went wrong: * We had reservations for 8pm. The didn’t seat us until 8:10. * It took them 25 minutes to take our order. * They brought the wrong wine(we had ordered a white wine and they brought a red — which, while delicious, was still not what we ordered). * Fiancé’s mother asked the server if maybe tonight wasn’t a good time — and he barked at her that he had no control over how things were going and would try his best to hurry it up and would take our orders RIGHTNOW. NOW. WHATWASITWEWANTED. * It took another 50 minutes for us to receive our food. * The bruschetta was like eating tomato-covered bricks * They were out of pesto. OUT. OF. PESTO. An Italian place. * No offers of fresh-ground pepper for the salad or fresh-grated cheese for the pasta. We didn’t end up leaving until 10pm and although the food was delicious(well, mine was anyway, Fiancé ended up ordering a calzone, since the waiter’s «we’re out of what you want, what else do you want, what do you mean you need to look at the menu again» attitude made him feel like he had to rush… And fiancé’s mom had lost her appetite by the time her food arrived) we were all pretty angry. They offered to give us a discount, so they removed the wine that we hadn’t ordered from our tab. Nice. In short: Screw this place, it’s Salvatore’s foreva.

Zero stars for this kitchen nightmare but Unilocal requires you to put one down. Got there at 5:00pm(restaurant open) for a birthday party, we all ordered pasta and gnocci, food did not arrive till 6:15, one hour! We were the first table there. Gluesticks for gnocci, mushy pasta, terrible service. A pasta dish is about $ 18 and that’s for something simple as carbonara(which they said they had run out of ingredients, the waitress said the kitchen ran out cream which doesn’t exist in carbonara.) all of which takes 10 minutes to make and has 4 ingredients. pasta, egg yolk, pancetta and cheese! We spent $ 230.00 dollars for 6 people and they conveniently added the gratuity. Hate to say it but I can’t believe spaghetti factory makes better food.

I am a local to Burien and I love local Burien businesses so I really wanted to love Filiberto’s. I went in the night of Valentines with my girlfriend with a reservation at 7. Other reviews said that there is poor service at Filiberto’s so I was really looking for some good service so I could say otherwise. The people were friendly, yes but I have to admit that service was pretty slow. We got the very least service to get by. I noticed on the menu that it said the first basket of bread was free but after that it was 50cents per person. When the bread came, it was four thin slices of baguette. They did end up giving us a total of 8 slices without charge but it just seemed like with service being so slow they would at least want to distract us with bread like most places usually do. The cheapest dish on the menu was $ 12. Most of the dishes were priced about $ 17.50. I looked at the wine menu to but the cheapest glass(10oz) was $ 8.75. I just didn’t feel like I wanted to take the chance on sampling their house wine at that price. We ended up ordering a couple dishes and sharing them. Both were… not bad. I can’t say I loved them but I have definitely had worse. I felt like I could have spent $ 10 and made it better myself and if I had gone to Trader Joe’s I could have had a pretty decent bottle of wine for that $ 8.75 a glass price. We left at only $ 35.00 plus a tip. Not bad right? Well we only had a plate of spaghetti and calzone. So it’s not like was went to town by any means. Filiberto’s, I want to love you but the it was like this: «experience+food = Less Than $$$»(apparently Unilocal doesn’t allow the less than symbol. Shows how much I use it) You might have had amazing wine but when I am paying $ 12 for a plate of spaghetti and that is really all I am getting, I just can’t justify it. I would be happy to give you another chance so I can change this review but at this point I think 3 stars is pretty fair.
