I’ve been coming to Rockies for years. I must admit I hadn’t been there in a little while, but I for sure thought the taste would be consistent. I ordered the red snapper both grilled and fried. I enjoyed the grilled one much better, but both were lacking any type of real flavor. The food has no seasoning at all, very plain and bland. That didn’t bother me as much because it was definitely edible and enjoyable, but I ordered the clam chowder soup three orders, which I went in the trash. Was that clam chowder soup or potato soup? The soup had no flavor at all and I believe this was my worst disappointment. That being said, I may or may not return. I think the biggest disappointment is that this restaurant is the Burbank landmark. Most Burbank residence I have dined in this place. It makes me sad that it’s not as good anymore.

Rocky’s is such a Burbank fixture that offers great service and great food. The menu is basic, nothing exotic but that’s ok because that’s their thing. As an active and fit person their simple protien/carb/veggie offerings are ideal. If I’m in the mood for gourmet sauces I’ll go elsewhere. Rocky’s is kind of my Monday night dinner spot… simple, healthy, no frills… yet sooo tasty!

Ok … Is 7:30 pm Monday… It’s my first time here. I’m alone not a good sign. sweet little Asian at counter. so I stayed. Hope reviews are right. did read a few recent reviews that weren’t so favorable. m places do change. cooks come and go. small things really make a big difference with food. I know I’m a mediocre cook. well I got the Orange roughy. There sides are simple. again not a favorable note. it amazes me how resteraunts don’t listen to their customers. put your in a suggestion box. and give them what they want. Well food came. I did like the fish. not great but enjoyable enough… But the meal wasn’t. nothing really bad just nothing will bring me back. the fish came with tartar sauce. who eats tartar sauce anymore… Some chipole aoli or some mango salsa. hell have a few choices. Neck I’m taking most of the fish home to make tacos. which they don’t sell here. seems silly. the sides Mac salad. Tasty but far from fresh. but again boring… Dinner salad do I have to say it again… The other choices. rice piloaf. should have tried that … Potato Sal. Or steamed veggies. not inspireing. sorry I won’t be back

Deep fried or grilled. I ordered the red snapper deep fried with Mac salad and French fries. It was good but not great. Seems like a lot of regulars come in. Heard the clam chowder is good. Maybe next time.

Decent food, could be seasoned better. 1.50/ shrimp tho? Not worth it. But the catfish nuggets* were decent.

Can’t go wrong with deep fried fish. Or deep fried anything for that matter. Got the deep fried red snapper with brown rice pilaf & potato salad & it was just magnificent. Also tried the macaroni salad but it lacked in taste compared to the potato salad, so would definitely recommend the latter as one of your sides! The place is a nice quiet spot if you’re looking for a fast but bomb meal. Eat deep fried fish! It’s good for you!

Decent choice of fish with choice of 2 sides. Halibut chunks was dry, the cat fish chunks were tasty however a herb added to the batter that I didn’t much care for. Fast and friendly counter(only) service. A place for a fast meal or to go. No alcohol and no restroom. No restroom so you get the picture that it’s not a place for a sit down meal. Clean. As stated no restroom … hard to believe but true :-(:-(

Nothing special that stands out about this place. Just seems like something I can make at home. We got chicken teriyaki and grilled white ruffi with coleslaw, salad, pasta salad and steamed vegetables(choice of 2 sides with each plate). If you’re on a diet and want something healthy, and the flavor isn’t important… this is the place to go.

Walked in at 2:30 on a Thursday, no line and nice friendly woman at counter. Ordered teriyaki chicken and asked her for suggestions on which fish were wild caught then she suggested which of those were good grilled vs fried etc. Place is clean. Parking is ok, though in have seen that lot full on a Friday night etc. Price is reasonable: snapper is $ 9.15 with two sides and chicken was 7.95 for white meat and 2 sides. Taste: rice pilaf(I got from all the reviews) is ok tastes like plain brown rice to me. Fries were good! Teriyaki chicken was bland(sauce is thin, it’s not marinated. missing some flavor). Snapper I thought was good but husband thought it was more batter than fish. They are more like fish nuggets vs tenders. Tartar sauce is 25 cents for extra but woman offered extra for free. Best part so far: fries and woman who worked today was VERY nice and good at her job! I would not say I liked the food enough to crave it and have it be in my mind to go back but I would not be opposed of someone wanted to go there I would go again etc

Hands down, the best fish and chips in the city of Los Angeles! I’ve been going to Rocky’s for 10 years now and will continue going there until the day they close their doors or if I die(whichever comes first). Let’s pray that neither never happens. :) I recommend the deep fried halibut and the brown rice pilaf. Very delicious! And of course the fries, or what my friends and I call it, «crack fries». Top it off with a couple sides of tarter sauce and an ice Coke then boom, you got yourself a perfect meal. Their breading/batter isn’t over done like most fish and chips spots which is why I think it’s so good. I feel like other places rip you off by putting a lot of batter to disguise the little amount of fish you get, but not at Rocky’s! Oh no. It’s just right and their portions are very generous! I mean, they stack your plate! And when I’m feeling dangerous, I like to get a shrimp cocktail with lemon as a starter. The price is very reasonable considering the amount and QUALITY of food you’re getting! Customer Service is important to me and I can honestly say Rocky’s has the best customer service. I love going there because the entire team is just so nice. Jenny remembers everyone’s name(she’s great!). It feels like a «second home», really. The restaurant is always clean and presentable. I always feel proud of myself when I introduce friends to this place. They’re always impressed at the quality of food and customer service and they always go back. Parking is a little tough during the lunch hour rush because it’s located in a mini-mall(?) kind of spot so there are other restaurants surrounding it. However there is always parking on the street. If you’re going to have lunch with a few friends, I suggest you car pool and call in your in advance! It will save you time especially in the lunch hour rush. I love Rocky’s so please give it a try! You won’t be disappointed! I wish they were open on Sundays! ;)

Very disappointing. Stopped in for a late lunch after seeing a lot of positive reviews. They were out of halibut. I chose the salmon. Grilled. Troubling…one would think this is a fresh seafood place… I doubt that. I anticipate it’s all frozen or some other way prepared in advance. There is not an option for grilled shelf fish. Must get that deep fried… what a shame. As for my meal the fish was either freezer burned or thawed and left sit in the icebox without a proper cover. There was a portion of a piece(see pic) that was hard and dry. The rice pilaf was rice pilaf. The steamed veggies came with cold carrot slices… yet tender… really can’t even steam veggies to order? I won’t be back Service was great and the place was clean.

Rocky’s Fish is really great. We went here ALOT during the Lenten Season as we couldn’t eat meat on Fridays. Those Fridays were CRACKIN at Rocky’s! Their menu has a variety of fried seafood and grilled. They have different sides including fries, rice pilaf, and a variety of salads. I really love their fried fish selection. The breading is really crispy and fried to the right consistency. It’s located right next to Niko Niko sushi in a small strip mall on San Fernando Blvd. It’s a really small place with a couple of tables. Their service is great! They do NOT have public bathrooms though, fyi!

Weight loss secret! I discovered Rockys after looking for healthy lunch choices. A good place to get charbroiled chicken or fish. Side items like Fresh steamed veggies and brown rice make this place a great choice for healthy eating and especially for those watching calories.

I’ve seen this place often, admittedly whenever dining at Niko Niko Sushi next door. I pre-judged and was never inclined to venture inside Rocky’s. First of all the name is kind of strange — is it a restaurant, a store? And secondly, it doesn’t look appealing from the outside at all. Aside from the fish tank, the inside won’t wow you either. It looks sterile, clean, but boring. Anywaaaay. Took a chance and decided to try this place out a couple of months ago [it is an eatery!] and was as happy as a clam that my gamble paid off. Digging the: *Fried oysters! *Rice pilaf! *Steamed veggies! *Snapper! *Trout! Get extra tartar sauce and lemons — you’re set! Definitely skip the scallops, they’re small and nothing to write home about. French fries are good for dining in but pass for takeout. Aesthetically the place has zero appeal but the mom & pop shop provides friendly service + good food that easily bridges the gap. Two meals come out to about $ 23, which IMO is reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food you’re getting. I will shout it out to the world to check out Rocky’s like ‘come at me bro’, but just don’t come on Sundays: GONEFISHIN’. p. s. no bathroom p. s.s. small parking lot with dedicated spaces, but ample street parking p. s.s VI or MC, don’t accept AMEX
