I have been excited to try this place out, but I didn’t like it honestly. I think there is so many better places to try. Their chicken they give you literally every piece I would chew had cartilage kind of thing inside of it all the time.

Been to this place twice. Food was great both times. If you liked L&L then you will like this place. Both times that I’ve gone i ordered the BBQ mix plate. It comes with a scoop of rice and macaroni salad. I have to say that my favorite part of that dish has to be the BBQ short ribs, it also comes with chicken and some type of thinly cut meat which is ok for me. But the item that you just HAVE to try is the manapua bun. It comes either baked or steamed. Trust me when i say baked is the way to go. Its like a Kings Hawaiian rolled stuffed with bbq pork. Its so good! The steamed one is more similar to boa. However a word of warning in store they are sold at 2 for 4 while ordering via eat24 its 2.20 each. Finally the parking is bad. Most of the street parking is full. There are parking complexes due to the mall being there tho. I definitely recommend this place but your best option is to either call in your order(maybe theyll give you the 2 for 4 deal via phone) or just suck up the extra 20 cents and order online and come with someone who will go in and pick it up while you do a circle around the block

First time eating at the place definitely will be the last since my fiancée noticed a hair on her plate. I showed it to the manager and the manager just told us he can’t refund my money and he even said the long black hair might belong to us. My fiancée got blonde hair and it surely didn’t came from me since I’m in the ARMY and I don’t have any … I HIGHLYSUGGESTTOAVOIDTHISPLACE !!!

I had the unfortunate luck of eating here, my fiancé and I had a bad customer service experience. I thought I would share. We Oder food and when it came the Grossest thing ever my food had HAIR in it! The manager didn’t respond with the same enthusiastic attitude of taking care of us .He didn’t even apologize and didn’t want to refund our money. We honestly weren’t looking for my entire entrée to be comped, but maybe some sort of gesture that said«we’re sorry you were disappointed, how can we make it up to you?» That is not what we received. What a shame. The manger said that black hair was mine… But He even said that was my hair but I know that’s not true because my hair is blond Not black!

Mahalo Moana! What can we say? We turned to Moana to cater our tropical Hawaii in 1950s themed wedding and everyone came back for seconds. I know a few may have even gone back for fourths! I know I did. I just love love love their spam musubis. And judging from how quickly they evaporated, I was not alone in that. We also had the barbecue chicken, pork and beef along with the friend shrimp, veggies and macaroni salad. It was clear that we not only made the right choice, we also didn’t order enough macaroni salad. Patrick was great to work with. With such a variety of menu items, we were not sure how much to order and he was very helpful with that. The Mac decision was mine so I can’t put that on him The pricing was reasonable, the food was delicious, and dealing with Patrick was a breeze. Thank you for contributing to a wonderful day!

I used to love this place about a year ago. They used to have the most amazing chicken teriyaki bowl. Slowly they started to change everything. I was there yesterday and ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was completely different. The chicken didn’t taste as good and the sauce was changed too. I had fries as well and they were sad, sad fries. I don’t know what they do to their other dishes now, but if you’re going there be safe. And if you ever ask«extra» anything, even just sauce, remember they’re gunna charge you more.

Moana Hawaiian BBQ remodeled. I haven’t been there in more than a few months. The place was packed. The menu is more extensive; half of it some type grilled or fried meat value meal, and there’s a family special. The avocado-mango-tofu salad sounds yum. There’s 8 flavors in the refrigerated nectar collection. Also, better snacks clutter the counter(Hurricane Popcorn, macadamia shortbread, macadamia cookies, Chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, shaved ice Hawaii-style). The wait is long when the place is packed, however, fresh food made to order. Friendly staff and service. Easily under $ 10pp.

I really enjoy this place a lot. My go to in any Hawaiian BBQ place is Chicken Katsu. Absolutely love it. The plate is a good portion, but again as all Hawaiian BBQ places it isn’t cheap. Service is really good and they always try to keep the restaurant clean which is a plus.

So I got the half beef and half chicken combo. I’ve been here before and wasn’t too satisfied. I though I’d try it again. The first time I got the same thing but ordered fries too. The fried tasted like they had been deep fried with the fish so they tasted like fish. I didn’t like them and didn’t order them the 2nd time around. So this second time the combo tasted the same and I was not too crazy about it. I was really just craving it because I had some Hawaiian Bbq from another place that was good and was hoping the same for this place. For the price I won’t come back here again and I would have rather spent that $ 14 somewhere else where I know I would have been satisfied. Foods okay, clean place, but definitely am over Hawaiian bbq and won’t be having it for a while. Beef is better than the chicken for sure though.

I love Hawaiian BBQ places so I’m not sure why I always hesitated to come here, maybe just the vibe of the place. I finally gave in today and I only took a few bites of my food before I left. The chicken seemed raw. The macaroni salad had something in it that wasn’t good, and the rice had a cardboard taste. Life’s too short to eat food like that.

Great food and nice staff. It doesn’t stand out very much since the front display is humble but it’s a true gem to find. Plenty of seating for friends and family. The cups and plates are disposable which adds to the casual atmosphere. Come by if you want to have a good time and good Hawaiian food!

Giving an extra star here because they have gone through a restaurant makeover. They have included way more items on their menu and the quality of ingredients has gone up! Service is a little slow. They may need to hire more staff because this place is getting busier and busier. I still recommend the spam masubi! And now I’m recommending the Hawaiian BBQ spicy beef plate which comes with two scoops of white rice and macaroni salad $ 10. The spicy beef was also a little sweet and reminiscent of beef jerky but juicer!!! Yummmmmm.

I’m going to have to agree with the majority here and say although I enjoy this delicious eatery… It’s pricey for what it is. Now, I know little to nothing about Hawaiian food but what I DO know is that whatever version of it we seem to have a lot of here in Los Angeles, I love. It’s a plate of meat, sauce, rice, and for whatever reason, macaroni salad. If you don’t like that combination there are others to try, but if you DO(second time I’ve capitalized that word) like that combo, you’re gonna eat til’ you feel sick. It’s savory on savory on sweet saucy goodness. And I’m a sauce man, I like my sauce, and they have bottles of BBQ and their house sauce for you to destroy. Don’t actually destroy them I’m sure that’s illegal, but dump it on your plate, I mean REEEAALLY get it all on there. The other reason I give this 3 stars is because when I went, the lady at the counter could care less about anything. Some people don’t care about good service because they just want the food, and then they want to get the heck out. But I’m an anxious person and even though I’m sure she was thinking about something sad unrelated to me, or about her annoying boyfriend, or about how awesome TV is; my appetite goes down when I feel I’ve done something to upset someone, and I felt like by ordering the chicken plate I spilled ink on her new sundress or insulted her in some way. Friendly service matters to me because people matter to me. And I honestly cared more about what might have been bothering her than how much chicken I was getting relative to rice.

On a whim, I walked into this place and ordered a takeout. I got a charbroiled mahi mahi with white rice and macaroni salad and halo halo for dessert. It was not cheap, but I did get a lot of food. I liked their sesame salad dressing and the fish. The macaroni salad was kind of meh. I know it is not something that is usually mind-blowing or life-changing. I just wanted the macaroni salad to taste like the way it did in my head. Theirs was a bit limp and lifeless. The best part of their halo halo was the Ube ice cream. The shaved ice was too tightly packed, and it was difficult to get to the very bottom of the plastic container with the limp plastic spoon I got. I would have preferred a big bowl of Ube ice cream to their halo halo.

I really enjoyed my lunch at this specific location. I ordered the Avocado/Mango salad and it was really good, I loved it. They had Christian music playing and it was really soothing personally. I liked the atmosphere and the food was good. I would definitely recommend coming here. I picked off my friends food and her macaroni was really good as well.

For a fast food Hawaiian place, this place is pretty good. The first time I went, we were looking for a hawaiian place to eat and this was the closest one that was open. We went, and surprisingly the food didnt taste soooo cheapy(is that a word? haha) and just what I think of when I think of fast food Hawaiian food. They definitely gave us a lot, so you knew you wouldn’t leave hungry. The owners of this place are Koreans. They might even be a family owned business. You can tell because they speak Korean, but in the background they play christian music. Both times I’ve ordered the Chicken Katsu Plate and the food was always more than enough. The Chicken Katsu actually had chicken inside and the outside breading was good and crispy. The macaroni salad on the side has never been too creamy or not have enough flavor. And the rice is always on point. I think if I have the drunchies or want some asian food I will go to this place. The price for the food and the amount they give you is pretty fair, and they also have kimchi you can buy if you want some. Their kimchi doesn’t taste bought from the market, they might of actually pickled it themselves. Kudos for that!
