I really, REALLY wanted to like McCormick & Schmick’s, as I work in the building and am in need of a great local happy hour spot. Sadly, the experience has been nothing but a major let down every time. For a place that charges 5-star restaurant prices, the food has NO flavor and is WAY overpriced. The happy hour cheeseburger($ 2.95) is the only half decent item on the happy hour menu and I wouldn’t say it’s any better than a 99 cent McDonald’s cheeseburger. Tried the BBQ pork sliders — they had NO flavor at alllll, literally the only thing I could taste was the crispiness from the crispy onions and the BBQ sauce. Who knows what kind of meat was in there, but whatever it was it was previously frozen and tasted like it! The popcorn chicken was kind of gross. I could only eat half of them, as the meat again had no flavor, tasted like it had been frozen, and they were«mostly air» as described by another reviewer. They advertise their Happy Hour like it’s a great deal, when in reality there’s not a single drink under $ 6 — unless you want a Coors light. Sounds like regular prices to me, not a very«happy» hour. The ambiance is lacking and dated, the prices are on par with a fancy hoity-toity posh Beverly Hills restaurant, when the food has less taste than any fast food place I’ve ever been to and makes you feel sicker than any fast food joint you’ve ever been to. Seriously, this place will make your stomach turn. I will say the hostesses and bar staff have always been nice, so this review isn’t aimed at them… Just the really taste-less food that is way too overpriced and in need of a major upgrade.

Worst fish I had ever experienced in my life. Especially from a restaurant that caters to many WB execs. I“m surprised no one has written into their sitcom how disgusting this place was. Whoever was in charge of cooking my halibut clearly does not know how to cook. It was completely burnt on one side. Sure they plated it really nice, WITHTHESIDETHATWASN’T BURNT! I hadn’t even eaten it yet and I could that it was burnt because the other half of the batter facing the place was as hard as a rock. Terrible. The quality of the fish didn’t even taste good. It might as well have been frozen in an aisle at safeway. NO thank you.

Food Purchased: I ordered the lobster bisque appetizer and seasonal albacore tuna. The lobster bisque was superb. The tuna was also superb but I did not care for the spinach that was underneath, and I usually like spinach. The sauce that was on the tuna was also very good. Pros: Like always the food is excellent at McCormick & Schmicks. Cons: Parking is not ideal unless you want to valet.

I’ve ate at street vendors in many 3rd world countries, drank tap water in Africa and NEVER got food poisoning! This place gave me food poisoning that lasted for 2 days!!! My face and my toilet seat became best friends — inseparable! Had the mixed green salad and the COOKED Halibut. Stayed away from sashimi just to be safe, and I still got E. Coli. Restaurant 101: Wash the f* greens before you serve them!!! In addition, all the dishes tasted like sh*t. Avoid at all cost!

they changed the happy hour hours! dayam!!! last time i was here it was 4−9pm straight. which i liked so i could be lazy, slow, and eat more than i needed to. right now, its 4−7pm mon-fri, then picks up from 8:30 — 9:30 mon-thurs, and from 9 – 10 friday. ok. back to eating quick and drinking fast! oy. i just had the steamed mussels($ 4.95) and a half-pound burger($ 2.95) again. delish. and karah was a wonderful waitress, even tho she wasn’t mine! but since my waiter was nowhere to be seen she delightfully stepped in to help — thank you!

I went here for the happy hour after hearing that i could get a good-sized burger and fries for $ 3. While that was in fact true, there is a catch: you need to order at least $ 3.50 in drinks. I normally just get water, so there went the low price I was expecting. The food was decent, but nothing special. The burger was pretty good but rather dry, and the fries were pretty good and plentiful. My friend and I also got popcorn chicken, and they tasted like they were frozen and filled with mostly air. So overall, this place is pretty good and in a nice location. I ended up spending about as much as I would at other restaurants, but at least I had plenty to eat!

I’ve honestly only been here for the happy hour, but it keeps me coming back almost on a weekly basis. The food is very well priced, and quite delicious. The drinks are quite nice also. The bar staff seems a little distracted, but they’re nice and not too difficult to get their attention. The kitchen is far away, which is a pain. Asking for an extra side of barbeque sauce often requires 5 minutes for one of their staff to make it to the kitchen and back. But, the atmosphere is wonderful and I’ll be coming back here often.

Fancy spot — I’ve only been to the bar area and patio seating since that’s as fancy as my hood ass is going get ;-) Happy Hour Menu looks bad a$$ but looks can be deceiving, don’t get me wrong… great eats and drinks but VERYLIMITED on portion size(c’mon only 4 fried zucchini fries per order?) Plus beer specials is only for«butt-wipe» and only 1 well drink special is available. Anyway, cool vibes though since we were rolling deep and being loud. Plus lots of business men from the area on their Ipads chill-en at the bar after work… I should get my sugar daddy hunt on LOL Although — 2 thumps up for the Seafood Corn Chowder soup — reasonable size bowl($ 7) plus bread(but I requested none since im gluten free) is a steal! Baby shrimp, potatoes and corn galore… too bad they only have Tabasco(i really don’t enjoy it) but I had tapatio in my purse… GOLDEN.

Ok, so I was excited about taking my wife to McCormick & Shmicks. We were in Burbank and had my son and a friend in tow(both 12) it tow. I know that this place is a bit upscale and we were all appropriately dressed. The host made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt like we had violated an unwritten rule about having kids on the premisis. Although it was a Monday and not very crowded they shuffled us back to the corner of the restaurant. Not very welcoming… The waiter was ok at best. He acted as if he had drawn the short straw and been assigned to the kids table. He had to be prompted to bring the kids menu and seemed distraught when we did not order wine or cocktails. Maybe he was having a bad day. My wife and I got a kick out of his over-the-top porn star mustache. He looked straight out of «That 70s Show’. The food was solid. I had the Filet and Shrimp Scampi & my wife had a Parmesian Tilapia. It was a bit pricy, but cooked well. We also enjoyed the Crème Brulet and they did bring the kids some ice cream. Maybe I’m being a little harsh on M&S, but I don’t think that it is too much to ask to be welcomed and appreciated. Although I enjoyed the food, I felt like they couldn’t wait for us to leave.

Ordered the variety of raw oysters and I was not impressed. The oysters were somewhat flavorful, but not as meaty as the ones I’m used to. Not only are they overpriced, the waiter tried to convince me that they were top of the line and thee most delicious. No. (Let me just add, the waiter told me the smaller the oyster, the better the taste.) Joke was on me. They were tiny and expensive, but then again, I was at a restaurant in the middle-ish of Burbank, next to a freeway, law office, gas station, and t.v./film studios. Not exactly prime location for catching the freshest seafood. Its not exactly the best place to hangout and relax, its more of a business lunch restaurant. It sure beats Dimples.

The outside of this building is super nice and very stylish with the bricks but the inside food to me is tasting like it needs a very big upgrade. I think even though it was my first time, I also think it will be the last time I ever come back. Don’t get me wrong the service was not at all horrible. I had a great server and she was super nice and very attentive with drink refills and the whole shebang. But honestly the food was so horrible and very disappointing. I got here around 7 :45 P. M just in the middle of happy hour. Heard that this place had a great menu and that the things on the happy menu were a good price for what you get. What we ordered was: Mussels: Too salty and overcooked the flavor was pretty bad and it just did your mouth wrong. Garlic Fries: Tasted like regular fries and nothing special. Salmon Cakes: Had some kind of tartar sauce which tasted very foul and disgusting. I only could take one bite and had to put my fork down because of how badly cooked and burnt this salmon cake was. I would suggest not ordering this at all !! Brushetta: The plate had four small pieces and the bread was very thin. Salmon Melt: Fish tasted a little bit off and I also would suggest not getting this off the happy hour menu. Not on the happy hour menu: Oysters: Not on the happy hour menu but since we were at a seafood place I did want to try them out. This wasn’t that bad and actually tasted pretty decent compared to everything else that we had. I think out of all the food this was one of the best. But then again, I had very horrible food that day. Coconut Shrimp: Felt like you were eating frozen shrimp that was not hand breaded at the restaurant. Should cost a lot less if they want to serve it like that. Shrimp and Crab Cake: One piece and also tasted like it was straight from a box. Do not get it !! I have learned one thing from this experience is that some places are not good with cooking. This place needs a whole redo on the happy hour menu and to have better tasting food. But I guess if you want to be cheap and have horrible food then by all means go and eat here! I just can’t do it.

Great happy hour. Friendly. but slightly overwhelmed servers during the happy hour crush. Be patient with them. ½ lb burger & fries for 2.95 and a bowl of mussels for 4.95. Drinks — not so cheap and neither is their regular menu — and since I’m only reviewing the happy hour this is where this review ends. Did I mention a live band(good too) on Friday nights?

My rating is solely based on my meal. I came here on Thanksgiving day with my family. We chose to come here because they offered their regular menu in addition to the thanksgiving menu, The ambience: Its like being in a manhattan bar. There are red curtains and dark lighting. The hostess was really nice. The guy that seated us seated us in the wrong place I think and it took a while to get menus. That was the fault of the guy who seated is. Our server, Sheila was really nice. The food: I had the seafood mixed grill and the chardonnay(?) sauce they used was so good. The shrimp was grilled to perfection: juicy and plum, the crab cakes were a delight and the salmon was also tasty. They vegetables were also seasoned and flavored just right. The sweet potato fries were nice an crunchy. The thanksgiving meal came with a butternut squash bisque soup: pretty good. The traditional thanksgiving meal came with all the trimmings. It was flavorful. The upside down apple pie was good too, could be a little less sweet though. Overall, a very delicious meal! I will visit this franchise again in the future. I’ll like to check out their happy house.

$ 2.95 for a happy hour cheeseburger?! $ 2.95 for a HAPPYHOUR cheeseburger?! $ 2.95 for a happy hour CHEESEBURGER?! That’s cheaper than their Coors Light(12 oz) at happy hour! Are they insane? Delicious fries, ketchup and a quartered dill pickle spear were included in the price. Yes, they’re insane. The burger tasted like a good backyard burger, but the cheese looked, melted and tasted oh so right. It’s a cool place to go especially if you’re working at Warner Brothers Studios and have a walk-a-way lunch. It’s walking distance from most of the stages and buildings on the lot — just remember to have your pass or client ID on you before leaving since you’ll need it for Security. The place was empty at 4PM the other day when we walked in, but got packed around 5:30PM. There are hooks underneath the bar ledges for your coats or bags too. How nifty is that? Katie was a marvelous server and when I asked for grilled onions, she informed me it was extra. Psshh! I ain’t gonna mess up that $ 2.95 cheeseburger deal! I politely declined onions altogether.

First off this wanna be über shi-shi restaurant has a ‘B’ rating. I know that does not bother most folks but it bugs the crap outta me! Also, one of the worst happy hours I’ve been to. No decently priced drinks & the app’s that are on the HH menu aren’t worth it! PF Changs does a MUCH better HH, fyi

This place isn’t so great. There’s absolutely no flavor. I’m surprised how packed it always is, but I guess people just don’t have very refined palates and will pay way too much to put way sad food into their mouths. It took an hour and a half for our lunch, and we just ordered 4 appetizers: seafood, corn, and bacon chowder(probably the best of the bunch), the tuna tartar(ew), the strawberry salad(meh), and the crab and bay shrimp cake(no flavor at all— where was the«chili mayo??!»). On top of that, the hostess and servers were kinda unfriendly. Whatever. SOOOOO not worth the price. This place probably shouldn’t exist. Was that too harsh? Sorry.

I went in with a party of 11 to celebrate the end of a long weekend conference. It was a great experience. Our party reserved a side room which allowed us(or maybe we were just a little tipsy and didn’t care) to be a little louder without bothering the rest of the guests. Our Server was awesome and the manager came out to welcomed us. Food was tasty, and drinks were great. This seems to be one of the few places in the area that makes an awesome Old Fashioned. We started the meal with Calamari and Jumbo Prawns. I had the Seafood Bisque for soup and it’s definately something I’d get again! I had crab cakes for my entrée, which were decent but nothing to rave about. Dessert was an upside down apple pie with a pecan crust and topped with cinnamon ice cream. It was pretty good though I thought the dough was a little undercooked. The crust on the edge was perfectly done and wonderfully flakey — so I’m willing to say that it was probably just a fluke and the whole dessert would be wonderful if it were cooked all the way though. I was very sad their espresso machine was broken that night though. tl;dr Great service, decent food, great bar. Get the side room if you have a large party.

My family and I came here while waiting to get in line for the Jay Leno show out at the Burbank NBC Studios. It was a good meal but I think if we had more time to look around, we could have found something better. We came in around 1−2pm and we sat down in the bar area since they said we would be served faster and we didn’t have much time to get back to the studio to stand in line. We were seated right away. My father and I ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich since it sounded pretty good on the menu and neither of us were in the mood for seafood. It came out about 10minutes after we ordered and we dug in immediately. After we were done eating we both agreed on a few things. The Roast Beef wasn’t really hot or anything, more room temperature, and the description mentioned it had horseradish on it, but we couldn’t taste any. The fries were pretty good though. Overall the service was decent as was the food. Like the rating implies, it was OK, but I don’t think well be craving to come back anytime soon. It is certainly on the list if were back in the area and in a rush again, but not somewhere we are going to go just for the food.

I had a lot of expectations for McCormick & Schmick’s prior to experiencing it for myself. My mom asked me if I could treat her to seafood and the first place I thought of was this place because of what I’ve been told by others. So we went there on a Tuesday night. There were no issues with getting a table right away since it was a regular week night and we didn’t make reservations either. Prior to coming here, I stopped by Costco and picked up one of those gift certificates they have there. You basically pay $ 80 at Costco and they give you two gift cards worth $ 50 each. Basically you’re getting a free $ 20 out of it. Not only do you save $ 20 but you also get a free seafood based cook book from M&S. It worked out pretty well. We started off with the crab tower as an appetizer. It’s pricey($ 16) but very well made and with a decent amount of crab meat. I ordered the ahi tuna($ 22 – 25) for dinner which when I received the plate, it looked more like an appetizer to me. The ahi tuna itself was pretty tender and well prepared but I wasn’t that overly impressed. My mom ordered the halibut($ 25 – 28) which was really good. I was originally going to order that but since she wanted it I went with the Ahi Tuna which I’m somewhat regretting. The tab with the 15% gratuity came out to $ 92. I now basically have $ 8 left on one of the gift cards for later usage. So consider getting those cards at Costco if you know you’re going to spend close to a $ 100. The underground parking was free with validation.

No, please no-_– Ordered the oyster sampler, there were shards of shell in some of my oysters… Asked them if the there was something wrong with the white wine I ordered because there was a weird oily film on the top(I’m guessing unclean glass…) and the waitress kept on assuring that nothing was wrong and that we should just drink it. She asked someone else’s opinion and they said it was supposed to be like that… ok… Both times I’ve eaten here, I’ve gotten extremely sick. The food tasted good but I don’t think my stomach could handle their«truffle oil» that was«drizzled» on top. One of the times, I threw up all the food I had and more, I didn’t even know I ate that much… o. o;; They are overpriced and made me sick… never again-_–
