Dr Ruiz & Associates

After 10+ cleanings and two fillings done in the office of Dr. Ruiz, I’ve only experienced solid work, and the whole staff has shown concern for my comfort in the chair. The front office has also done quite a bit of legwork for me in speaking with my insurance company, and clearing up discrepancies. If you’ve ever been on the phone with your insurance company, chances are you’ve felt time slipping through your fingers.
I’ve removed one star for a constructive criticism. It’s an issue that applies to a couple of modern dentist offices I’ve been to, and that is the up sell. I believe the extra, expensive, procedures they offer are a sound product, but they are in fact extras, that when presented to you, might sound like necessities. We all need to make a living, but I’d prefer to ask for something expensive than to have to say, «No, thanks», more than once. It’s really up to your pocket book and lifestyle. Just keep your head on straight during the pitch, and make sure you get what’s best for you.

The most amazing, most professional people I’ve ever come across in dentistry! I have THE WORST anxiety when it comes to dentists visits, and they made it so comfortable for me, and even gave a courtesy call the next day to check on how I was doing! I couldn’t be more grateful for the kindness, patience and understanding they showed me. Very knowledgeable, and there to help you 100% of the way! Would definately recommend this dental office to any and everyone!

My wife and I started coming here about two years ago. The staff are all very friendly, professional, and educated. There’s a real sense of teamwork here, as well as personal attention. I always feel welcome and appreciated as a customer and enjoy my visits. Both Drs. Ruiz & Mar are both great so you can’t go wrong.
I especially like how up on their technology and best practices they are. Dr Ruiz I know is very active and in-​demand as a lecturer to other dentists, teaching on these things, and it shows in his practice where things are very progressive. I think «minimally invasive dentistry» is the philosophy they put a lot of this under, and it’s a real benefit. I’ve also gotten Invisiline from them, which I’m about ²⁄₃ through and am very happy with.
If you’re looking for a high-​tech, educated, friendly, professional dentistry that cares about both health and aesthetics and gives you individual attention from before you walk in the door, I highly recommend Dr Ruiz & Associates!

Dr. Ruiz and Associates is amazing. The girls at the front desk are very helpful with pricing and payment. My dental hygienist, Anna, was awesome. She was gentle and checked in with me to make sure everything was going okay. They make you feel at ease and they have a beautiful spa like ambiance. I’m very grateful that my co worker recommended them to me.

Dr. Ruiz and his staff are the best! They are attentive and answer any and all questions you may have. I go for cleanings, have had cavities (new and old filings), and a front lower chipped tooth repaired. I hate having my cavities filled — who does?, but Dr. Ruiz and Dr. Mar are so attentive and ask repeatedly during the procedure how I am doing. Plus when they inject the novocaine, they do it sloooowly. In the past with other dentists, it has felt like they are using all their weight to press the needle into your head — not pleasant at all. Regardless, these people are the best! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Amazing experience with dr. Ruiz, he is the only dentist I trust to touch my teeth, I believe in his treatment plan and diagnosis , his assistant «Daisy» is so sweet and nice and she made my experience much more pleasant, since I got my fillings I have no sensitivity and pain, dr. Ruiz has a very soft touch :) I recommend him to everyone and I will go back if I need dental treatment!

Dr Ruiz staff is amazing!!! I went to get a tooth extraction with Dr. Mar, And I was astounded as too how quick and painless the process was, if you ever have dental needs THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

I have been coming to Dr Ruiz office for about 5 years now and am really impressed with this office. They’ve always been nice to me have had an immense amount of patience whether it has to do with billing or precedure. High recommended! :)

I can’t get over how perfect this office is! First of all when you walk in, the last thing you think of is ‘dental office’… It’s got more of a ‘luxury spa’ vibe! Everyone is so friendly, and they make you feel right at home. Dr Ruiz himself did some needed treatment on me, and all misconceptions I had about dentistry went out the window! Everything went so smoothly and painlessly, when he told me it was done I literally asked him «Really??» The hygienist Anna is also the biggest sweetheart, I absolutely love her! Try it out, you won’t look back!

First of all let me just say that like many of us I absolutely dread going to the dentist and I am one of those people who have hopped around to many different dentists through out my life just because I’ve never truly been satisfied… until I met Dr Ruiz and his wonderful staff especially Daisy his dental assistant and receptionist Erin. Dr Ruiz is extremely skilled and knowledgable… he is the first dentist to fill my cavity without causing me any pain or discomfort. Not only is he great at what he does, but he’s very professional, courteous and you can tell just by talking to him that he loves what he does and truly cares about his patients. I am in the process of getting Invisalign and I could not be more excited. I know he’ll make my teeth look fabulous!

Let me first start off by saying. Dr. Ruiz and Dr. Mar are the BEST. True professionals and they make you feel right at home. The dentists and hygienists are AMAZING. The front desk is willing to work with me on the finances as they have options. I’ve learned so much about my teeth and the importance of flossing. Since I met with Dr. Mar I made it a habit and I’ve never looked back. Flossing is so important for healthy gums. Also at times they will have nice music in the background. Makes the visit very comfortable.

I do think that Dr. Ruiz is a gifted dentist and knows what he is doing. But after going there for years, I finally got sick of the business practices of this office, which is namely bill padding. Because I had good dental insurance, I was constantly lobbied to get this, that and the other thing done. Every time I came in, I was told I needed several procedures done, bite analysis, night guard, braces, periodontal surgery, you name it. I have good teeth and I had braces when I was younger, so my teeth are pretty straight. I initially had about 3500.00 in work done by Dr. Ruiz but then I realized that, to them, I would always need more expensive procedures. I was repeatedly asked «so, you have declined Invisalign braces?» etc etc. The last straw was when I was there last year, after the hygienist cleaned my teeth (the whole time telling me what else I needed to get done), they went ahead and booked my next appointment for three months later, without even asking me when I would like to come in. My insurance covers two appointments per year, so of course they always wanted me to come in at least four times per year. Also, I would get numerous phone calls at the end of the year (and texts) indicating that I had plenty of money left for the year on my insurance plan so I really should come in before the end of December. It just became too much. I finally switched last month to a dentist near my house and they only told me a few things I needed to do, and I am really happy I finally switched.

Had I written this about 13 years ago when I got braces, the review would have been glowing but definitely not now. Both my retainer and night guard were thrown away by a nurse during a hospital stay so I returned to Dr. Ruiz to obtain new appliances. I gave Dr. Mar a description of the types of retainer/​night guard I had and I thought he understood. Apparently not, because when I picked them up, they were totally different from what I had previously. I advised the technician of this, but she did not communicate this to Dr. Mar. If appliances are going to be changed so drastically, the patient should be advised and there should be a discussion to make sure everyone is on the same page. I’m the one paying for it, not Dr. Mar or Dr. Ruiz.
Flash forward a few months and I return because the retainer is making me sleep with my mouth open (causing major dry mouth which can lead to additional problems). I did not have this issue with the previous retainer. In addition, the night guard is so loose I’m afraid it’ll fall out or I’ll swallow it. Both are replaced and the styles are more like my previous appliances. I wear them for three nights and wake up with raw sores in my mouth in three different areas, two from the night guard and one from the retainer. I get a same day appt. and Dr. Ruiz states that it’s not the retainer or night guard. Don’t know what it could have been as these sores occurred after I started wearing the replacement appliances. In fact, to make matters worse, I was made to feel I was being difficult and that I did not know what I was talking about. In addition, Dr. Mar’s version of what transpired was not correct. I advised Dr. Ruiz of this but he backed his associate. To Dr. Ruiz’s credit, he ground down the night guard so it does fit better and the sores are healing but I am still having issues with the retainer and he would not agree to do anything about it. In fact, his solution to this whole problem before he ground the night guard down was to have me stop wearing both for a few days and then start wearing them again. That would not solve anything. I have never been treated so poorly by a dentist in my entire life nor by a doctor for that matter. What happened to caring about your patient and making them feel comfortable and making sure they get what they pay for and are satisfied? That apparently is not Dr. Ruiz’s motto. I would definitely not recommend him or Dr. Mar. Very poor patient care!

I want to start off by saying this is a second review I am writing after Unilocal said my review didn’t meet their criteria «correctly» for how to review MY experience with THIS Dr. I found that amusing, that Unilocal is telling me how to write my experience. I also find it quite suspicious that after I refused to remove my review when Dr. Ruiz himself contacted me several times to remove it (I have emails and a vm to prove it), a couple weeks later Unilocal emails me and says they have removed my review. FUNNY, right? Interesting to note how this Dr. advertises SO much on Unilocal too. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide fellow Unilocal users.
IN MY OPINION, this doctor only cares about aesthetics. I bet he does great veneers. I wouldn’t know. I went to him for a severe TMD/​TMJ problem I had many years ago. I spend more than $ 1000 on his «treatment» and it did nothing to correct the problem. I’m not unreasonable. I don’t expect 100% perfect results on anything. 50% would have been nice. All I did was spend money I didn’t have because I had to take a loan out to pay for it.
He also had his office do white fillings after removing amalgam fillings from my mouth. I got mercury poisoning from it. I was extremely ill after the procedure and quickly looked for a biological dentist. When I spoke to Dr. Ruiz about it, he was arrogant enough to say the dentist I had gone to was no good and could lose his license because he wasn’t approved by the ADA instead of addressing my concern in a more humble way. (The biological dentist removed the rest of my fillings with the correct protocol and I had no issues, NOT a coincidence). So I paid Dr. Ruiz to get sick and a night guard that fixed no TMJ symptoms. I would NEVER recommend anyone to him again. When working on your mouth he knows nothing of mechanics of the air passage, proper jaw alignment, position of the tongue, arch of the roof of the mouth or anything TMD/​TMJ related. If you have seen him for this condition and improved, lucky you. I have seen my share of dentists and doctors. I’m surprised this one is still in business.

Drs. Ruiz and Mar are awesome! I was having a lot of tooth pain and they really went out of their way to accommodate me and take care of me. Getting evaluated and ultimately having my bite adjusted and teeth cleaned was painless and quick. I would highly recommend these guys!

Talk about making you feel at home and comfortable. Dr. Ruiz, Dr. Mar and staff are super friendly. I love the ambiance there. Had work some work done I I’ve needed for a while. Finally went in to take care of it. They asked if I wanted headphones so I can play my iPhone music while I did this intense cleaning. How cool was that? I sat back, listened to music, barely even realized I was getting work done. Oh, and for years I’ve been flossing my teeth all wrong. Dr. Mar took the time to show me how to properly floss. I’m pretty excited that I came back to Dr. Ruiz DDS. This is how a dentist office should be run.

This so called «dentist» gets no stars in my opinion. He gets 5 thumbs down. He is beyond incompetent and does not stand behind his work. My son had a root canal and several fillings done several years ago. He was a recent college grad and was out on his own. Not only was the dental work done poorly, the charges were astronomical. He had to use their financing and owed over $ 3,000. When he went to get the problems fixed Dr. Ruiz denied the problems were his fault, yet, a reputable 2^nd opinion confirmed that the work was not done properly. Dr. Ruiz would fix the problem but would charge his outrageous fees. STAY CLEAR OF HIM. Find a more reputable dentist.

I don’t even know where to start. Worst experience ever. They will charge you just to put your pinky toe in the door. They will throw all these fake compliments at you to kiss your ass then tell you, you need all this work done and stick you with a high bill. No one there seems to know what they are doing. Dr. Ruiz uses his students (who again, don’t know what they are doing *STUDENTS* working on your teeth) Told me I need to come in every two months for a cleaning HA (my teeth are actually nice)
**Beware** of the women (SHARKS) up front. My advice is to stay FAR FAR AWAY from this place.

Well how much more can I say. Five stars for a dentist! I mean you usually take one star away jusy ‘cus you have to go. This is a great office! We have been going here for a while for standard yearly care and have always been more than happy. Recently I had some old veneers replaced. (one shattered). I can’t say enough about how fantastic everyone was. It’s a tall financial order (it is everywhere) they helped me find financing, scheduled appointments around my travel schedule, and i just can’t say enough about all staff. Aside from being nice they are all so good at what they do. Dr. Ruiz is brilliant! but he is also very approachable. He listens to all concerns and it seems your comfort is of the highest concern. I am so pleased with the results i would highly recommend this office for any dental work. Look no further!!!

My teeth look great! Never have I been so comfortable sitting in a chair at the dentists office. My teeth match perfectly. The staff great! The music great! Dr Ruiz you are the best! Seriously! Love getting all the complements on my teeth. It Makes me feel good:}

My doctor referred me to Dr. Ruiz to get two teeth bonded. Before I came in, Dr. Ruiz’s receptionist said over the phone they accepted my dental insurance. Halfway through getting my x-​rays, the receptionist came in and said, oops, we don’t take your insurance (they thought I had the PPO, I had the HMO). To apologize for the misunderstanding, they did my x-​rays for free. Then they discounted the cost of the dental work and decided to bond one tooth for free, all because I didn’t have insurance. So they gave me a huge deal.
All of that would be amazing in and of itself. But they also did an absolutely fantastic job bonding my teeth. They matched the color and shape of my other teeth exactly. Plus they were fun to be around and the procedure was painless. As far as I’m concerned, Dr. Ruiz and Johar will be my dentists for the rest of my natural born life.

My experience with Dr. Ruiz and his team has always been amazing. My daughter and I have been extremely satisfied. With the assistance of the team, our teeth are in great condition. The team is always helpful. You are always greeted with a smile.
Besides of providing extreme customer service, the facility is extremely clean. I am not concern of any hygiene problems. They have top of the line dental technology.
What other dental facility do you have the opportunity to receive great giveaways and discounts for being a customer. I have already referred 3 people and they are satisfied and have been returnees. This is the place to go for customer service, innovation, emergencies and other dental needs.

Dr. Ruiz worked with me on my budget and did the work within the budget and guess what the work was beyond excellent — it is perfect — He changed my smile — he was purely dedicated to making my smile perfect — i was always traveling and his associated went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule and treatment.
If nothing everyone should see him for a consult and I feel like he is dedicated to perfect smiles and teeth… so he will work with you…
