Stopped in yesterday for a late lunch and didn’t have any problems with the service or food. Salsa & chips were delivered right after I was seated & my drink order was delivered shortly after. Their salsa is one of my favorites as it’s not terribly spicy or too mild. It’s just right. My huge lunch combo arrived piping hot and was as ordered. The flautas were light, crispy, and delicious. The pork tamale was flavorful and the chicken enchilada was yummy as well. The rice & black beans were good, but I added some salsa on top for a little pizzaz. My only regret was not ordering a side of guacamole. It’s chain Tex-mex, so there’s an instant comfort level with what to expect. If I were in the area, I would visit again.

Been coming here for years. The service is always friendly and their food is always delicious. However, I went this afternoon and ordered the chicken and carnitas combo fajita. The carnitas was cooked to perfection. However, the chicken was not cooked at all. It had a rubber feeling and I told the waiter. She offered to make me a new batch, but instead, I just asked for the price of the chicken to be removed form the bill. Instead, they removed my entire plate from the bill, very surprising and generous. I will still come here again because one bad experience over 100 visits does not affect me as much :)

I went on a Saturday night and the service was very slow, even though there wasn’t that many people. Then when the food finally came the waiter had yet to give us forks, we had to ask and wait to receive them. The food was very salty and just not satisfying whatsoever. I went a previous time and I enjoyed but this time I was dissapointed.

The stars are for the chips and salsa they bring to the table, and that’s the only okay part of the experience. I’ve never been to Chevys we were a little hungry after walking around IKEA so we decided to cross the street and give it a try since we like Mexican food. So we decided to get the Caesar salad and the fajita salad. My salad got there first it was dry lettuce with two drops of dressing and the chicken was from about maybe two weeks ago, the smell and the taste were horrible so I ended up returning it very quickly and settling for an Oreo ice-cream desert cause I thought this can’t go wrong. Then my friends salad got there they cooked/made the salad right in front of us and was still not good but my friend was hungry and ate about half of it. The margaritas they have is like water also but what do you expect its $ 7. Will not be coming back.

Disgusting. I am literally sitting here as I type. I was eating a tostada salad when I chewed on something hard. I pulled it out of my mouth and found the tip of a rubber glove. The manager or a cook or someone came out and apologized… Saying all the chefs wear them in the back. I told him the whole point of wearing gloves was to keep food sanitary and once a tip of a glove is hacked off and removed and served to a guest it defeats the whole purpose of even wearing the gloves. That is SO sick. Plus all he did was apologize. This also adds to the fact that they didn’t seem that short staffed yet we hardly ever saw our waitress. I didn’t have utensils until after my food was served. Never ever coming back. Stay away from this place.

This staff is Grade A !!! I want to give a special shout out to Gloria! Honestly here service, efficiency and professionalism is above the average server anywhere. She is so enjoyable to be around I forgot I was in a restaurant and thought I was at home she so down to earth and is great with recommendations. I ordered table side Guac which was amazing and a beef Tavo and 1 shrimp and crab enchilada.(note this is an extra charge but I love it so much) So without ranting anymore ask for Gloria and Joey !!(he’s the manager here) they will treat you good !

If you want good food come here and if you want great service come see BRIANNA. She really goes above and beyond and I will keep coming back when she’s here. *Helpful when it comes to recommending food. *Fast service *Friendly Thank you so much Brianna, you’ve given us a great dining experience tonight.

Chevys does a lot of things right. Its fresh; even the free chips tasted like they’d just come out of the oven.(Do you cook chips in an oven?) It’s clean. It’s generous with its portions. So why just three stars? Well, I wasn’t crazy about the flavor — or the lack of flavor. Maybe it’s not fair to slight a restaurant for not being Tex-Mex when they’ve never claimed to be Tex-Mex.(I just searched their website’s About Us page for any use of «Tex» and it’s not on there.) Still, their Unilocal page is filed under«Tex-Mex,» and for whatever reason I went in there expecting more flavor than I was given. I ordered the Nachos Grande as an entrée. Within a few minutes of receiving the food, the chips were extremely soggy. My wife pointed out that since it’s actually supposed to be an appetizer shared with a group, they might expect the chips to be eaten fast, and so it was my own fault that the chips got soggy. Maybe I shouldn’t doc stars for this. My kid got the Mac & Cheese and he didn’t eat any of it. When I finished my food I tried out the Mac & Cheese and it was horrible. The noodles were soggier than my nachos. I like it when a restaurant puts as much effort into their kid’s menu as they do their adult menu. That doesn’t seem to be the case at Chevys. I hate to even add this part, but it did play into my less-than-stellar experience at the restaurant: Part of the reason we went here was because their website said they were having a kid’s eat free Halloween weekend. When we got there the waiter said he hadn’t heard anything about the promotion. He said that kids eat free on Tuesdays and it wasn’t Tuesday. I had to pull up the promotion on my cell phone and show it to him, which made me feel cheap. He ended up not charging us for the kid’s meal, but I really didn’t like having to pretty much beg for the discount. That last paragraph is pretty much useless to 99.9-percent of readers, though, because I very much doubt you’ll find yourself in that circumstance. Still, I felt like I should include it because it was part of my experience. You could do a lot worse than Chevys Fresh Mex. I’ll never go there again, but if I was walking by the restaurant and saw someone else going in, I wouldn’t grab their arm and tell them to go somewhere else.

Its obvious to see they cleaned house. Many of our old friends are not to be found. Drinks are still to order, food still comes hot and as ordered, service is still good. Yes its a chain, but all i care about is drinks food and service. The menu is busy and constantly changing. Order a side of jalapeño jelly. Works awesome with everything. Our waitress carded me. Too funny. Still great. Wife says she is quivering the food is so good, then states shes not joking lol.

FOOD –chips are ok, salsa is terrible and bland –chicken fajitas — the rice and beans are pretty good, but the chicken is so bland and dry, just doesn’t have flavor PRICES — guac is like $ 10. Really! And everything is above average for their quality. SERVICE — actually pretty good service. Pretty attentive MENU — confusing as fuck! Their marketing and publishing team needs to stop smoking crack. Everything is an upgrade and all over the place. Make it a bit simpler. LOCATION — good seating area inside and outside. Never coming back again.

The host was helped us quick and sat ud down by the window like we requested and was very nice and friendly, the waiter was just as friendly quick with the drinks and our food and also kept checking up on us. This was our first time here and had been talking about getting some fish tacos, i dont think this is the place for that looked like fish sticks in a tortilla. We would like to give another try but something different seem like most people were going for grilled meats.

I ordered the big five item. A loose meat taco, a chicken and beef enchilada, a chicken tamale, and a chile relleno. Happy hour is ok, $ 3.99 dos Equis draft. As a Mexican establishment I was a bit disappointed. The taco tasted like an Ortega shell with tasteless ground beef. The food tasted frozen in example the tamale. The chile relleno was decent. The enchiladas tasted ok, but nothing fresh tasting. All the food tasted sort of with preservatives! I was a bit in shock. Staff were all friendly. Overall, food tasted really bad. Save your $ 20 bucks per person and eat somewhere else for food. Come here for drinks and free chips. Food does not taste fresh at all. Skip it.

This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. My chicken tacos were mediocre and on flour tortillas after I asked for them to be made with corn. My friend’s fajitas were so salty, we had to say something to the manager. He gladly took them back and offered to bring my friend a different entrée. She opted for the chicken tacos with corn tortillas. Our server was nice enough to box and bag it, but then she said they had run out of corn tortillas and that they were still made with flour tortillas. We asked for the bill at 7pm since we knew we had to be somewhere at 8. We got the bill and the fajitas($ 17) were still on there, in addition to the two orders of chicken tacos. We asked the server to take it off the menu, so when she brought the bill back, the discount was $ 10. Wait, what? You’re going to make me pay $ 7 for food that We barely touched and you still took back? No. Two managers and 55 minutes later(yeah, 7:55pm) we finally left. The manager wouldn’t even come over and talk to me about the bill. What kind of customer service is that? The only great thing about our dining experience(hence the one star) was our server, Amanda. She was so professionally nice and apologetic about everything and still tried to make sure everything was done the right way and in a timely manner. Props to Amanda! I will never come back here. The food is absolute trash. Maybe this is why the other locations in the valley closed YEARS ago. Unilocalers, you’re welcome.

We sat at the bar and had a few shots before heading over to the theater to watch Mad Max. The bartender was friendy and suggested a few tequilas for us to try. We picked one out and he brought them over with a cup filled with the freshiest limes ever. Ended up having another round and asking for the check. Took a bit, but they were pretty busy making drinks. Overall an avaerage experience.

The Service: Wonderful. Our server, Ruben, is super attentive and polite. He constantly check on us. The service is fast. Love the unlimited chips and salsa! The Food: Jalapeño Bacon Wrapped Shrimp — Grilled shrimp wrapped in roasted jalapeño chiles, manchego cheese and bacon. Served with jalapeño jelly for dipping. You can never go wrong when it comes to BACON! 4 pieces. Wish there are more… Fresh Mex Sampler — Chicken fajita nachos, chicken quesadilla, border wings and crispy chicken flautas. Perfect to share! If you just feel like having a drink and not really want to have a big meal, this will be a great choice! Different varieties of appetizers. Mango Margarita — I love frozen margarita! The mango flavor is strong. Wish they put a little bit more tequila or else taste like mango smoothie. The Parking: Parking structure behind the restaurant. Might be crowded since sharing it with IKEA and other restaurants and retailers.

I always come here for drinks and end up eating food. It’s not great great food but it makes the cut after a few margaritas. There’s hardly ever a wait, specially if you choose the bar. Happy hour is pretty good. Service kind sucks and is a bit slow but the staff is great in the sense that they’re very friendly and welcoming.

I came here for a quick brunch with my 3 favorite gals my mom, niece and my daughter during crazy hrs. it was super busy… But we were seated within no more than 5−8min. Our server’s name was Isaac very fast efficient person as far as food and drinks went but sadly a bit forgetful about his clients. I asked for a booster seat for my daughter and unfortunately even though I asked 3 – 4 times as a reminder to him, he still didn’t bring it to us. I was done with lunch and no booster seat :(I gladly tipped him for his service but wrote a quick note on the receipt with a sad face saying I was still waiting for the booster seat and even though he clearly read and saw me leave. No apology instead he smiled when he read it as if it was a joke. Food was great as usual very good portion and good quality food for the price. I will return soon but hope I’m not ignored as this time. I understand you were busy Isaac but still find no excuses to forget all 4 times asked you.

WAS returning some stuff to IKEA and after a long day of work… it was kinda fun to come here & celebrate my bf’s belated bday. When the staff found out it was his bd, they came out with a sombrero and a free desert. That was a nice touch especially that he is from Hungary and not used to this kind of hospitality ! Food was good except the tortilla soup. It was too salty. It was the first time for my bf to try this soup(and the 3rd time to eat mexican) and he didn’t mind the salt so much but I made this soup at home since and now we both agree that it was just too salty ! The fresh guacamole was good, needed some more spice, so I dumped the salsa in it. Overall it was a fun birthday, but not the best food. Food 3*** & Ambience 5**** = 4****
