This was my 2nd time to stay at the Saltgrass and it just keeps getting better and better. Accommodations are always first rate. Came in in the early afternoon and Bernie(Chef) had red beans and rice and gumbo for anyone hungry. His breakfast, lunch, and dinners are great. The Saltgrass also provides guides for fishing and hunting. First day I had Ike — great lots of fun. The second day his father, Raymond. Raymond knows a lot about fishing and knows how to find them. Great Time. Looking forward to my return trip.

This needs more stars for where it is located. This is THE nicest place to stay between NOLA and Venice. I planned our guys trip not knowing what to expect and man were we happily surprised! The lodge is three or four stories and the hospitality was first class, Josh and his wife cooked us redfish on the half shell with a seared tuna appetizer that were better than any meal I had eaten in a restaurant! the rooms were clean, the living area was comfortable, there was even a pool we used to cool off in one evening, I promise you I will return and I will stay there again, there are cheaper places, we saw them and I’m telling you this is the Ritz of Venice! Call Josh and book a trip for reds or tuna, you won’t regret staying there.

Amazing! I’m a novice fisherwoman and they made me look like a pro. The captain knew exactly where to go for biting’ fish. Great redfish fishing. Also caught a sheeps head, some flounder, and trout! The accommodations were clean, comfortable and inviting. The food was awesome too! Overall great time.
