The food here is the best. The pizza is phenomenal. However we often do takeout because the seating is limited. I gave it 3 stars for the takeout. Our order is almost never right. Tonight they forgot to our our pizza order in. Do we had to wait an extra 15 minutes. It is a very disorganized operation. However, we will continue to take out because the food is so great. One important note— the front door needs fixed! It’s been broken for years!

I’ve always loved trying Romeo & Juliet’s desserts and different festivals in Buffalo so when my friend suggested coming here for dinner I was excited to check it out. It’s a cute little café and a lot of great italian options for dinner. They gave us Italian bread when an artichoke spread which was really good! I’d never had something like that on my bread before so it really stood out to me. I ordered the Insalati di Juliet with Albacore Tuna to start. It was bigger than I thought it would be but it was delicious! I would order this again. I loved the artichokes, sunflower seeds and asiago cheese on top! I also ordered the spaghetti with meatballs for my meal. Their sauce is different. It’s a little on the sweeter side which I don’t normally like as much but it was very good. My friend also ordered a pizza for herself and she liked it. Our waitress was great and always made sure our waters were filled. Definitely a cute place and would go back and try the other locations.

Keep trying it thinking it’ll get better or that I’ll suddenly like it but it just isn’t ever going to happen. Aside from a few of their pizzas and apps, everything I’ve tried is poorly seasoned, it seems like they try to be fancier than they are and funk up a lot of their dishes with a few wonky ingredients, their sauce is too sour for me, and it’s just not that good. The Hertel location has decent service, the Sheridan in Tonawanda is horrific with service. My husband loves it so I have to go back but am sticking to desserts which are at least good.

Always a favorite. Great food paired with great service and an owner who makes you feel like you are having a family dinner. One of my favorite places!

First thoughts, rather small place. 15 tables max. Went at 6pm on a Saturday and every table was seated. My boyfriend and I were seated in the middle of the restaurant and if the tables next to us were any closer, it would have been too close for comfort but it was fine for us. Service was as fast as you could expect with 3 servers, very prompt and very courteous. Food was amazing! I had the pasta and meatballs and my boyfriend had the chicken Parmesan. Both were extremely satisfying, which means a lot coming from a couple who is used to eating authentic, homemade Italian.

I’ve eaten at the location on Hertel Avenue, so when a friend suggested meeting at this place for a bite to eat before going to a movie I happily agreed. It’s cute inside(not quite as cute as the city location, but cute enough) and the service is friendly and efficient. We decided to share a salad and a pizza. The«Mediterranea Salad»(mixed greens, feta cheese, chi-chi beans, tomato, and apples tossed with balsamic vinaigrette dressing) was large enough to share and as fresh as could be, but the dressing could have used a bit more«zing». The«Margherita Pizza»(mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce and basil) was absolutely perfect. Perfect crust! Perfect sauce! Perfect cheese! Perfect seasoning! It was the pizza of my dreams. We devoured it in 10 minutes and then were(sadly) too full for dessert. Next time: a pizza(maybe or maybe not to share) and some lovely Italian cookies… even if I have to bring some home.

Can’t really say too much so I’ll have to update at a future visit… we ordered 2 pizzas for takeout after my lovely coworker and I were talking about our favorite pizza the other day. So I took up her recommendation. OI thought they would be smaller but nope, normal sized pizzas. Definitely at a great price for the size. You get your money’s worth. We ordered the Margherita pizza and Pizza Alle Verdue. I originally assumed Pizza Alle Verdue was a red pizza but when I opened it was a white pizza. Not a disappointment though since it was hella delicious! One of the best Margherita pizzas I’ve tried as well! You can tell the ingredients are super fresh and the dough is hand tossed. Cute pizza box too, lol. Love this place already, we will be back!

This is perhaps the most solid 4 star review I can give one paesano to another without making it to the golden 5! Mainly because I want to go back and shoot for the Italian stars and this will force me back there for more of that great thin crust pizza! Many people misunderstand Italian food — they think one is better than another because of taste! With Italian food — it isn’t JUST about the taste — it’s about the family — the love and the plain olé«how we roll» so to speak. We went to this location and found the place to be almost clean — just like home — with the staff including the owner to be friendly, maybe a little tiny bit loud — a reminder of having dinner at my Grammy’s house! The selections were plentiful and large — pricing was on target and the flavor — yes it was Italian and because of the love and the terrific customer service — it was fantastic. While some may be confused about us Italians — let me assure you — this is one place I will go back to as often as we are in the area. My wife’s salad was tasty and fresh — the stuffed red pepper tasted very similar to Grammy’s, but she always used green peppers! However, the pizza — thin crust with the real greasy filled little pepperoni slices were placed perfectly on top of our pizza — the fresh basil enhanced the ultimate flavor of this scrumptious pie and we found ourselves needing to take the desert home with us! I found the staff to be extremely friendly — maybe cuz I’m Italian — or maybe cuz I’m just that nice — they were not snobbish at all and the pricing on everything was really in par! Parking was good and it was easy to get in and out of. Speed of service was amazing — almost like my Grammy was in the kitchen waiting for us to come! If it was loud I didn’t notice it and anyone who’s Italian would know that’s just all part of a good Italian meal! So — if it’s so good — why just a 4 star? You are right — I’m changing this to a 5 star — just because I can!

Not impressed. Ordered eggplant parmigiano it was soggy and luke warm sauce decent with a high basil content. Haddock puscanetta decent. Manager only mingled with who he assumed to be upper class. I guess jeans and a polo don’t cut it for him as he walked passed my table not inquiring how my food was. My wife left over three quarters of her dinner on her plate as is was not hot. No one questioned why. Would not recommend, nor will i return.

Best thin crust pizza this side of the border(head to Pizzeria Libretto in Toronto if you want the best). This location usually has owner Mauritzio who actively waits tables and rattles off the daily specials, but there is a Hertel location and one on Sheridan in Tonawanda. Other than the pizza, must get is the aranchini.

This place was a wonderful find for us and we keep coming back because it just keeps getting better and better. The food and service are great and I just can’t get enough of this place. Hands down this is our favorite dinning spot in our immediate area for lunch or dinner. We’ve ordered pizza(margherita is our favorite) for pick up many times and now we’ve started ordering our meals to go… mainly because the dining room is so small. Also, we utilized their catering menu for a party recently and the guests raved about both the eggplant and chicken parm. Most importantly, we’ve ordered the eggplant parmesan many, many times because it is one of the best we’ve had in WNY. Although eggplant is our clear favorite, no matter which meal we’ve ordered they’ve all been well prepared with the freshest ingredients. I’m looking forward to my next meal there! Fantastico!

Romeo’s, Romeo’s, wherefore art thou Romeo’s? Well they’re in 3 different locations, but that wasn’t what you asked, was it Juliet, dear. Oh wait, we’re in 21st century America. So that would be Julii xoxoxox This place is just a tiny bit pretentious and pricey for me, but if you’re looking for a romantic spot to take a date, then it’s right up your alley. Particularly as, for this type of fancy-ish, «dining experience» restaurant, it’s definitely not as pricey as most of them are. Having said that, you do get the distinct impression that you are in a sit-down restaurant and not a «Café» as the name of the place would have you believe. They must be doing something right because there are now 3 of these places, they’re multiplying and showing up all over Western NY — there’s one at either end of Sheridan(Tonawanda and Williamsville I believe), and then there’s the one on Hertel. I’ve only tried the Hertel and the Williamsville, but both had a similar standard, so I’ll use this review for all three. The one on Sheridan is the one I was at most recently… the service was a bit snooty and off, in fact it actually reminded me of European service… lol. I ordered the personal size cheese and pepperoni pizza, and the Chicken parm. The garlic bread with olive oil that they brought out to begin with was excellent. The pizza was good, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, it wasn’t exactly authentic Italian as I had expected, nor was it anything like WNY pizza, it was a sort of thin crust hybrid between St Louis and Italy, and it was good but it wasn’t amazing. Buffalo actually has the best Pizza in the world — it’s not quite like New York’s, and not quite like Chicago’s, it’s an entity unto itself and it’s the best I’ve ever had. This place isn’t really a good example of just how good it can be. Instead, I recommend trying some of the ones on my best pizza list. For amazing Italian, go to Mulberry in Lackawanna or Village Eatery in Lockport. Anyway back to R & J’s… The Chicken Parm was also good but it wasn’t anywhere close to being the best I’ve had in the area, and wasn’t the largest portion either. So this place comes out as being a very high 3 or a very low 4, and because the prices aren’t extortionate, I was thinking of 4. Then again this place is SO overrated I feel the need to go with 3. I love Italian food so if it were really that spectacular, I would come more than once every few years, wouldn’t I? I’ll wait til the end of the review and decide then. Italian American is admittedly my favourite, and for that I head to Lockport’s Village, Santasiero’s on the Westside, or the incredible Mulberry Café in Lackawanna. All three are slightly cheaper, less authentic, more Americanized, but admittedly, to me, significantly more delicious and addictive. I’m not wishing«a plague on all three of your houses», R & J’s, but your Mercutio-rial rise to prominence in the Buffalo dining scene is not completely warrented, and a Capulet of your tomato sauce doesn’t thrill me quite like it would from some of those aforementioned places. Pizza, Pizza, what’s in your pizza? A pizza made by several other places would taste more delicious. Now I need to make like a Luhrmann and wear some sunscreen. Ciao. It was a toss up between a 3 and a 4 for me, I ended up giving it a 3 just because the prices are high and the service was not good at all. Plus it’s very highly rated(which I disagree with). But for the food alone, it could have easily been a 4 too.

Ciao ciao, a quaint little Italian restaurant in the Buffalo suburbs will have you savoring«la dolce vita». A small, unassuming(almost Mexican looking) white establishment accommodates a dozen or so tables as well a dessert display and take out counter. The friendly Italian owner takes care of seating you, as well as providing you with a list of the day’s specials. A well equipped menu features appetizers, salads, pasta, fish and some meat dishes; not to forget their specialty oven style pizzas. Mia amica and I started with the caesar and goat cheese salad. Both were well garnished, and accompanied with house made dressings. Next came the pizza, which was easily tailored to meet both our preferences on one«Alle Verdure». Great crust and very flavorful toppings. we could have been in Naples. We wrapped things up by going up and each picking our own cannoli from a well stocked desert display. Always a great Italian meal.

I love this little restaurant! My first visit was last night, and it was packed. It’s definitely very family-style and a small space, but we only waited about fifteen minutes and it was well worth it. I got the Rembrandt panini, and it was delicious! The mozzarella was so fresh and the tomatoes were actually fresh, as opposed to what typically gets thrown on a panini. I had a wonderful experience!
