Okay I’ll be honest… we didn’t stay here but we had reservations and decided to cancel them. When we arrived the office was closed. We entered through the back of the house and were met with stinky, dirty carpet. The halls were dingy with exposed light bulbs hanging from the ceilings. Downstairs, where the dining area is, is sketchy with a large hole in the ceiling of the cooking area. Based on all of this, our group decided to cancel. The prices were amazing but not worth staying there.

Keep in mind, I like quaint places, eccentric places, colorful places. I don’t want a Microtel experience! The RPInn has the potential to be such a place. But unfortunately it has a long way to go. The building itself looks like it might have been built as some sort of boarding house. It’s laid out like an apartment house, but the rooms are just that: a room, with a bathroom attached.(Indeed, I got the impression that some people I encountered were tenants.) The place appears to be undergoing modest renovation at a glacial pace. It was clean enough, but the aura overall is just sort of oppressive. Though I don’t think there is any safety issue, the vibe is such that I do not think a female traveler would feel comfortable. My biggest gripe is that everything in my room was cheap: the couple pieces of rickety furniture, the cheapest mattress money can buy, a lump of foam pillow, and nasty nasty nasty synthetic sheets. It doesn’t have to be beautiful, but I want a good night’s sleep, which isn’t happening here. And when I get up, I want a shower. My second floor room had NO water pressure, so I finally gave up on the refreshing shower idea, since I did not have 45 minutes to spend under a dribble(literally) of water. But as noted, the host(owner?) is very nice. He puts out a good basic breakfast. The RPInn appears to be a labor of love, and I wish him luck. I hope he reads these reviews, because he needs to understand his guests’ expectations, however modest they may be. Also, it should be noted the owner gives a discount on your next stay if you write a review. That’s okay, don’t think I’ll be needing that.

I stayed here for two nights. The place is run by a really nice man and a small friendly staff. I was able to book a room last minute and they even had a little lot for me to park my car. The room was fairly big with a TV, refrigerator and private bathroom. I’ve stayed at other inns/hostels before and not felt safe. I felt very safe here. It was all very comfortable and fairly priced. Not to mention its in an awesome area of Buffalo, with the Allen St. bars just a fews minutes walk away. I would definitely stay here again.

This little inn is run by a very nice man. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very delicious. I stayed here with my grandmother, who is usually picky about everything, but she loved the place and its owner. Also, the inn is conveniently located in a nice historical area, quite and safe, a few minutes walk away from restaurants and stores, and a 15-min drive from the wonderful Niagara Falls.

While this establishment is run by a very nice man, upon arriving at this B&B, we left. Upon checking in, we were told that our suite, booked a month ago, was undergoing some sudden renovations and we would have to stay in two separate rooms, away from each other. We continued in and found old stains which looked like blood on the mattresses and mattress covers, clear milky stains on the bed spread and the rooms smelled damp. The mirrors were broken and the inside not well kept. After finding this we considered asking for a new room but upon finding old pizza boxes, old soda cans, old straws and other trash in the closet, we left. I do not recommend this place to anybody and I will never go back.
