1) this is not a fine dining experience. 2) who are these reviewers that are ordering salads? 3) best barbecue wings in America, among the best pizza in Buffalo. The wings need no explanation. The pepperoni pizza is simply delicious. However, it’s definitely Buffalo pizza, so it has a thicker, bread-ier composition, but they really get it right. 4) stop complaining about dining in. It’s a simple, no frills establishment. 5) if you encounter an issue with your order, don’t get an attitude. Just politely explain your grievance. The folks that work here seem like they can whoop some butt.

The basic product(pepperoni and cheese pizza) is pretty good but the specialty pizzas are where it’s at!

Had a delivery. Enjoyed the burrito very much. Pizza logs were good too. Pizza is the thing! They have tons of pizza. I like the cheese and pepperoni and sausage pizza. The sauce is tasty. The pie is great. Check the pizza before the driver leaves.(sometimes burnt) overall great pizza.!!

For buffalo pizza which I put up to high standards this is an ok joint. I feel bad giving it three stars because I think the love of Pizza is based on opinion of how you prefer it but in my opinion there was too much cheese on my pie making it difficult to even eat. Also the grease factor was a bit much which kind of ruins it for me. Overall the taste was good but I couldn’t get over the cheesy grease mess

Love the wings! Got the bbq, hot, and mild. Really nice salad. The pizza was good but not my favorite, but still really good. A must if in buffalo.

5 stars based on 2 things only: hot BBQ charbroiled wings and insanely fast delivery. All you BBQ wing lovers, next time you order ask for hot BBQ. Spicy, sticky, sweet, grilled, fried deliciousness… Gotta love a city that could come up with these.

Love the pizza here! Consistently good in my experiences! The wings are bomb too. I love the charbroiled bbq wings OMG! The only place that I recognize as being consistently on top since I was a child. They have good rib dinners and subs and calzones… I mean what’s not to like at La Novas!!!

Slices in house are awesome. BESTPIZZAEVER. Even the simple cheese and pepperoni with sesame seed crust feels fine dining in my mouth. It will cure the harshest of hang overs. Or at least put you back to bed. Delivery pizza has been getting worse and worse. It just never tastes as good and I can’t figure out why. The sauce tastes weird and the crust is somehow smaller? La Nova is my go-to, just not my to-go anymore.

So, I’m not from Buffalo. So, I don’t appreciate what Buffalonians call pizza. It just doesn’t appeal to me and because of that, my pizza intake has gone quite down the previous years. That’s not what this review is about. Instead, I went into La Nova because I just needed something to eat. Lo and behold, there’s a thin crust pizza — normal, NYC style. I get excited, overjoyed, that I might have pizza that isn’t as sloppy as I was expecting. I go to order it and I’m informed that it’s a ‘specialty pizza’ and, thus, it costs more. Like, a ridiculous amount more. The man behind the counter sees my face and offers it to me for the normal cheese slice and I’m like, yeah, I’ll do that. The slices were fine, though still the sloppy sauce/cheese combo that I feel is a signature of La Nova. The restaurant itself is usually dirty. The tables are sticky, like no one cleans them or, if they do, they do it with a dirty dishtowel. There are blaring televisions. And the general unease and greasy-ness of the store makes you want to leave as soon as possible. It’s a delivery place primarily, I assume, but every time I’ve had delivery, it’s been a mess as well.

I was born and raised in Buffalo. There is no place on earth with wings like LaNova. While in high school we could jog over to LaNova(take the bus really) to get their wings. I lived by Delaware Park but went to school at Leonardo daVinci/Grover Cleveland. EVERYONEKNOWS LaNova’s sauce is like NOOTHER. I mean no meat left, licking lips and fingers the wings are so good. LOVELOVELOVELANOVA. A PIREMUSTEVERYTIME I COMEBACKTOTOWN! Now that I am in Chicago I still have wings shipped here! Enough said!

I’m reviewing this location in particular because I had a terrible experience a few days ago. My boyfriend and I ordered from here — large cheese and pep with 20 wings. I was sooo pumped. The bills game was on, we cracked open some beers– now just waiting on the pizza. We waited 2 hours before I questioned what was going on. We called and the employee stated they couldn’t find our house so they never brought it. Hmmmmm. We live 2 miles away. Doesn’t everyone in 2015 have fricken GPS? They stated that if we still wanted it we had to come pick it up. A few months prior we had la nova on Main Street it was amazing and that’s what made us want to go back. Food is always so good from here but from this specific location we won’t get delivery. I guess pick up will do!

Despite the extremely shady character of this place, I must say I think these are the best wings in buffalo. Be prepared to pay a fortune if you have the food delivered. The pizza can be good, but it is often inconsistent. And seriously, does there really need to be 15 people behind the counter at all times? No wonder the prices are so high…

Sorry. When I’m happy I’ll post but when I’m unhappy. Well, sorry. I’m a redhead and I just can’t keep it in. Staying in Buffalo for the first time to ride our HD and discover the beauty of the area. Which was awesome! Hungry, tired and ready to lay back we asked hotel folks about a good pizza delivery joint. They gave us this menu. Ordered what we were told was NY think crust. Don’t think so! Worse we had to order a 20″ pizza to get«thin crust». Why? OK, I’m easy. Here comes 20 inch thin crust NY pep mush hot pepper pizza. Yippie! Here is what we got for like $ 28…sloppy, BANANAPEPPER(seriously) thick pep mush… limp like the worst noodle ever! Ever! Look at pic.

As my travels around the country continue. I found myself with a day off in Buffalo. I wasn’t really in an adventurous food-mood and was prepared to be wowed by something easy. Word is that La Nova is the spot for Pizza and wings in the greater Buffalo area. So I checked to see if they delivered to my hotel. They do. So I placed an order! Pizza came in a decent time frame. They said 45 – 50 mins, and it was at my hotel in about 35. I got pepperoni and Italian sausage. Nothing crazy. The pizza didn’t look like pizza does in photoshoots or advertisements. Cheese was all slid to one side from the driver taking some tight turns. But I’m not picky about looks. It could have flipped upside down and I wouldn’t give a damn if it tasted good. And it tasted better than good. It was so delicious. It’s not even funny. Just the right cheese/sauce/dough ratio. Good fresh toppings and the crust was insanity. And I’m not a «crust guy» … I would get this again next time I’m in Buffalo for SURE! Don’t sleep on La Nova! It’s MONEY!

This is a serious downgrade from my previous review. But after multiple times of overpriced yet extremely disappointing experiences, we have completely stopped ordering from here for at least a year now. perhaps when we get desperate for pizza the next time we may be willing to try it again. Maybe. Just maybe. Considering all the other places we have been trying have also sucked royally. Come on! It’s buffalo! Not Florida!!! Why is a decent pizza so hard to find??? Do yourselves a favor and go to Santora’s in Depew or Rocco’s in Williamsville if you want a good pizza.

People who prefer surfing the internet to eating Pizza might be described as «LAN over Pizzeria» people… no? One of the most famous spots in Buffalo — Great pizza and great wings, excellent. One of the best 10 places in WNY for pizza and wings. Might even be in the top 5. Yes it’s that good. A little overpriced. Typical Buffalo. What to get: specialty slices(Cheesesteak Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Pizza). What else: wings, cheese & pep pizza. For a long time this was a 4⁄5 but recently I’ve tried their Pizza again and I have to say, especially around lunch time for delicious, greasy specialty slices, it’s one of the best places out there. I highly recommend, for example, their steak pizza. Also their chicken finger pizza. They’re also very friendly. In an insulting, NYC but with Buffalo charm, way. Edit: every single time I try this damn place, the pizza slices taste better and better. Expect them to be sublimely greasy. As opposed to the song«Santoria» which was greasily Sublime. Remember: Steak Pizza(the one with Steak and Peppers, yo) and Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Try those two. The others are all sehr gut, danke, too. Lots of hotties work here male and female. Italiano mamacitas. Imagine like, the Jersey Shore, only Buffalonian, with everyone in these 80s style dayglo La Nova outfits. Also«Nova» backwards is «Avon» so I think some of the people that work here obviously used to sell door to door make up. I remember taking a girlfriend to my mother’s house in England for the first time, and convincing her to pretend to be an Avon Lady while I hid round the side of the house. It worked perfectly. My mother said she was the friendliest Avon Lady she ever met. Then I popped out and revealed the truth. Barrels of laughs I tell thee. It’s actually one of the most famous places in WNY to get yourself some Pizza and Wings. That’s not surprising, since it’s consistently good at doing both, and they have a pretty awesome selection. Having said that, it’s certainly not the cheapest out there, but it is very good. But in terms of legend, you simply have to go to La Nova. You’d be much better off here, for example, than at, say, Anchor Bar or Duff’s(both insanely overrated for wings), and you’ll enjoy your Pizza here infinitely more than you would at Pizza Hut or any of those horrible chains. It’s worth going here for the awesome pictures on the wall, alone, by the way. There are hundreds of them, and they’re lots of fun. Buffalo actually has the best Pizza in the world — it’s not quite like New York’s, and not quite like Chicago’s, it’s an entity unto itself and it’s the best I’ve ever had. And if you’re a geek, and you think you prefer LAN over Pizza, then come to LaNova Pizza. It will change your mind. And the girls(or boys) behind the counter will probably cause you to have to change your pants too. Or take off your glasses. So as not to be distracted. While eating the pizza. And then accidentally bite your finger off. And sue the City Of Buffalo for compensation. What was I talking about again?

In my opinion this place along with Bocce’s in Amherst are the two best examples of true«Buffalo Style Pizza». Not as thin as NY style, but not as thick as Chicago deep dish, very subtle sweet sauce, pepperoni slices that curl up into little grease filled bowls with burnt edges. That is Buffalo pizza. I have to confess that originally I was only going to give them three stars, but in hindsight their pizza really is pretty good and it hits the spot almost anytime so the four star rating here is only fit. Besides, without a doubt this place has Buffalo icon status. I’ve had multiple times where friends and family who have never had La Nova pizza stopped after the first bite to rave about how good they think it tastes. As for the wings here, well I don’t deny that they are not bad at all. However, they are overrated in my opinion and are far from the best in Buffalo. The pit BBQ wings have a different spin on your typical BBQ flavored chicken wing and are definitely worth a try. The medium wings I have found to be weak and a bit dry. They have a large variety of wing flavors which I definitely still need to try, so my opinion on this matter may be subject to change.

This is my second time ordering with Lanova Had a great experience the first time I ordered but this time I’m pretty disappointed. I ordered a 13 inch pepperoni pizza. My order total with delivery came to $ 16 and some change. I gave $ 20 to cover tip. I got the pizza in good time took about 35 minutes. The pizza came and looked like it had been dropped. The pizza wasn’t cut into slices which I couldn’t believe. It was like someone started cutting it with one slice and never finished. The pizza was still doughy in the middle definitely undercooked. I’ve had dinner here before and had a different experience. I question the consistency please see the photo to see what I’m talking about.
