I went into Carbones on my lunch break and ordered $ 7 worth of food. Lady at the counter said I’m sorry but there’s a $ 10 minimum to run your card and took the food back! I was speechless. She could’ve let me slide on the $ 3 and ran my card as a curtesy this one time.

I have had Carbone’s pizza on several occasions. I have ordered delivery twice so far. The first time was no issue. The second time has been nothing but a simple illustration of the loss of American customer service and appreciation. I ordered a pizza and wings at 4:22 pm and was called back and said they didn’t have boneless wings. I thought to myself«meh no problem» then was told the pizza would be there in an hour. So I called at 5:25 to see what time the pizza would arrive and I was explained that«The person never answered» when I spoke to the manager. Then the manager stated the pizza would be sent out right away. So now the next hour rolls by and I call again to see find the geo location of said tomato pie is? The pizza chef answers the phone because now everyone appears to know they they have sunk the dream of having a well made pizza and wings delivered hot and fresh to one’s door step. I have a sense of longing and mental wasting for people that listen and restaurants that listen to my stomach. Well I feel like the staff at Carbone’s tonight has toyed with my gastronomy in a wicked ploy to make me turn green and break things out of hunger. The manager was nice enough but sounded like she was struggling with her sixth grade math homework while the pizza chef was drilling her about multiplication facts. 2hrs 21mins and counting

I got food from here on and off for the last 10years. They are inconsistent, and quality has slipped over the years. I would do slices and bread sticks that’s it.

What is now known as the CaRBone family was famous in Chicago back in the 30s. They were mobsters. The head of the family, Al, faked his own death and snuck away to Buffalo and opened this place. He inconspicuously changed the«p» in his name to «rb» and gave everyone the impression that the food he served was full of carbs. It is. What to get: Slices, Garlic Breadsticks. I used to go to the location in Lovejoy regularly, I haven’t been in ages. I remember it being one of the best in Buffalo. Slices were insanely good so I gave it a 5. However when I went recently the quality had slipped slightly though it was still good. However the quality at this location on South Park is off the charts excellent. I finally tried this location and while it wasn’t my fave pizza in town, it was very very very good, and easily in the top 20… possibly even the top 10 slices in town, which is a very hard list to get onto. The slices are juicy, wet, and enormously huge(you know, huge, like my thingy or something), and what’s more, the girl(who wasn’t very friendly, but was cute), gave me a slice, but couldn’t detach it from another slice so since they were about to close, she gave me both of them for the very low price of 1(it’s right around $ 2 and it’s enormous). Since that occasion, the service rating has gone through the roof. In fact this is probably the friendliest service I’ve had at any pizza place. The girl with red hair(not the one that served me the first time) is so insanely friendly, always gives me extra stuff because it’s near closing, and totally rocks my pizza world. I buy one slice, she gives me two or three. Free breadsticks. Loves my cat Starlight. She’s just fantastic. I’ve become a regular because of her and her great service, but also because of the excellent, typical Buffalo slices and the really good crust they’re on. Slices are usually piping hot too, like burn-your-mouth hot without even being heated, which was very impressive. And a relief too because that’s how I like them, but I wasn’t going to ask her to She’s already too nice to me for me to ask for extra stuff… lol. Definitely stop in and try a slice here and see how it compares to your fave places. They’re open late, maybe 10 or even 11 or 12… not sure but yes, really awesome place. Buffalo actually has the best Pizza in the world — it’s not quite like New York’s, and not quite like Chicago’s, it’s an entity unto itself and it’s the best I’ve ever had. This place is a good example and my fave ones are Imperial(South Buff), Chuck’s(Downtown), Wiseguys(Hertel), Francos(Northtowns), Mattina’s(North East) and if you don’t like Buffalo style, try Rocco’s(Transit) or Yogi’s(Akron). Watch out for Al CaRBone though.

Was in town for the Pearl Jam show at First Niagara Center. While tailgating we asked a cabbie about a good, local, CLOSE pizzeria. He suggested Carbones. Our one large pizza was $ 25!!! And it took TWOHOURS to arrive!!! And to make matters worse the pizza wasn’t that good. I called two additional times after my initial order and got the run around. All blame was placed on the driver. This was hands down the worst pizza delivery experience I have ever had.

I have lived in the OFW all my life and Carbones was a regular spot in my youth. It use to be THE pizza spot but it has dropped off quite a bit. It can still be very good and it’s been awhile since I’ve had a bad experience but the bad experiences can be truly awful if you get them. Still I would recommend this place to everyone and take the shot and when Wack is working, he’s the best there.

Not many people know about Carbone’s. Why? Probably because it’s not really in the greatest area unless you live nearby or know someone who does. It’s squeezed right in between what’s left of the Perry Projects and the Old First Ward on the Corner of South Park & Hamburg street. Infact, it’s right off of the 190-S Louisiana street exit or the Hamburg street exit when traveling on the 190-N. I used to frequent here a lot during High School and every time I’m in the area, it is very hard to resist stopping by. Each time I go, I am not to be disappointed. The sauce is sweet, but not overly so, the crust cooked to perfection with just the right amount of cheese to not be overbearing. Their breadsticks with marinara sauce, french fries and chicken wings aren’t too bad either. If you find yourself nearby take a gander, get a slice. YUM!

Just a regular town pizzeria. The best one in South Park. The pizzas are greasy and the prices are affordable. The garlic breed is super cheap.

Growing up when ever I would visit my grandmother down in the old first ward of Buffalo, Carbone’s was on the menu! Boy have times changed. My wife and I were greeted by staff who chatted about how long it takes to use the bathroom. The tables and floors have not been cleaned in weeks. An older worker decided to use a table in the dine in section for his tools as he worked in another room. Some staff felt it was a good idea to prop the front door open, even though it was snowing outside. As far as the food goes… I had a fish sub, and my wife a Julienne salad. My sub was large, but seemed to be overloaded with onions. Even after taking about half of them off I still mostly tasted only onions. My wife’s salad was also large, and said it tasted very good with a solid balance of meats and cheese. I know times change, but this place has fallen hard! I will pass on this place in future trips to Western New York. If you are looking to pay with a credit card you will need to spend at least $ 20.
