Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union

Hometown credit union where I got my first ever bank account as a kid! Yes, cue the nostalgia.
Located in downtown Buffalo behind City Hall, this credit union is ridiculously packed during peak times (Thursday/​Friday afternoon) with lines sometimes extending outside. By the same token, if you go during non-​peak hours you can be out in less than 10 minutes.
Customer service is generally good and they’re always offering promotions on various services. As is the case with most credit unions, consumers typically fare better in terms of interest rates on financing options, home loans, etc. as compared to those offered by the major banks. I got an excellent deal on this bank’s credit card with great rates.
No longer being MasterCard’s bitch? Priceless!
