I really love this restaurant. I mean they served my daughter a Bison Burger that was amazing tonight and served my wife and I humongous fish fries. Now I asked for a twice baked potato instead of fries. I was surprised to see fries on my plate and then a twice baked potato(of epic proportions) brought on its own plate. It was that big. Between the great food, great service(almost always), free peanuts and popcorn(throw the shells on the floor it is ok) excellent beer selection, including many good house specials. This place is one of my favorites. There are just a few things that could easily make my 4 star rating a 5 star rating: * Add a few more diet sensitive options and don’t charge extra for those that are offered. You really charge 1.25 more for a gluten free bun? I mean I paid 16 dollars for my daughter’s burger. The option to give a gluten free bun for a small population of people overall, seems like you are fleecing me unnecessarily. * Add dividers between urinals in the men’s room. Privacy is important. * Add a dark beer to your house list, it really was the only kind not represented on you beer menu. Everything else is amazing

It was a cold and boring evening, so me and my family decided to do dinner and a movie. I suggested Buffalo Brew Pub because we hadn’t been there in awhile and their food was really good. I was in the mood for a fish fri anyways so it was a good option, they do serve Icelandic cod everyday of the week. When we came in we immediately got seated in a booth which was great and not too long after the waitress got our drinks and we ordered. The portions are huge and the food tasted homemade! All of their meals are very hearty. We all took a little bit off everyone else’s plate to try and it was heaven. I got a beer battered fish fry with potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw. My hubby added a twice baked potato and not only was it huge and it was very addictive. It tasted like whipped potatoes with sour cream and chive with a thick coating of cheddar cheese. It was one of the best I had ever tasted. My daughter got a Buffalo meat burger. I had never had it before, but it wasn’t too bad. Much richer and more greasy then beef. Topped with katsup, mustard and tomato it was a nice change to a simple burger. It was super busy inside, but the service wasn’t to bad. The longest I had to wait was about 7 minutes to get my check back and to sign. Over all a pleasant and relaxing evening with my family. As always we will be back!

Came on a Thursday after work and even though the restaurant nor bar were full, there wasn’t a single spot in the parking lot. Service is good, but not great. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable but I had to ask for my empty water to be refilled and had to wait quite a few minutes for her to come back with it. Wouldn’t have been a problem if my mouth wasn’t on fire from the concentrated jalapeño cream cheese spot I just ate on my salmon burger. My fault because I didn’t spread it evenly, but I wasn’t going to wash it down with the beer flight I was splitting with my friend. BTW — a $ 5 flight for 4 house beers was a good deal and enough for two people to share. We also ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were delicious. Unlike other places, they were warm but we didn’t bite into boiling hot pickle juice, which is why I’ll only get them here from now on. Four stars for cleanliness, good quality of food, good enough service, and lots of craft beer on tap. Would come here again but maybe for lunch.

I came with a friend for the first time. The waitresses had a really good service, good food and nice atmosphere. The tall white girl with gorgeous eyes was really welcoming, sorry couldn’t get her name. Would definitely visit again when in buffalo.

The best part of the Brew Pub is their happy hour. During HH, the brew pub’s own beer is ungodly cheap. I’m talking $ 2 beers. Otherwise, the food is typical bar fare and nothing to write home about. I keep going back for the friendly service and happy hour beers. Stop here for a brew or two when you’re in the area and experience the happy hour with it’s fantastic selection of beers.

Good beer selection, but Fri. night in Buffalo, it’s about the fish fry. Ours was horrible… thick, heavy batter, parts of the fish were in edible. Not going here again to eat. There are so many restaurants in close proximity with huge micro beer selections that have excellent food, you’ll be far happier elsewhere. Get it together BBH.

I am lowering to 3 as an average between my previous review and the last couple of times I have been there. I know the long time manager left for another newer restaurant and not sure if that was the change in things… Beers are ok. Usually a few choices for those interested in more unique/higher end craft beers with some local stuff(Big Ditch, etc) Lots of middle of the road things, and their own beers which are not really anything to write home about. The food has gone somewhat downhill. They have taken some stuff off the menu I liked and in general, I think the quality has decreased. They used to have a delicious Philly steak pizza and that is gone, they brought sweet potato fries, but I they were more like steak fries and were pre-rolled in honey which I don’t like(just offer condiments as sides, please). The pretzel sticks had so much salt on them, they were almost completely inedible and nearly ruined the meal for me. I had chicken fingers recently and they were more than likely freezer burnt then overfried and all the edges had that dried out, sawdust taste. Weck and Wing plate I had, the weck came out pretty much cold and not that thinly sliced. Wings were ok, but saucy a little too spicy for what I would consider mild. Most of the time service is friendly. Depends on when you go on how fast. Some of the newer waitstaff I have had were definitely a little green, even showing considerably on off shifts. Bartenders often chatty with patrons or themselves, so you might need to wait to get a drink.

Gotta say, im an out of towner, but totally unimpressed. Monday night so not super busy, but inattentive service, fish fry was suuuuper greasy. Asked if we could get peanuts when food was almost there… «they’re behind the fish tank, help yourself.» Um ok might have been nice to know that while we were waiting. Next time, will try Brennans.

While having been around for a long time, this pub is a great place to grab a cold brew and a bite. Rustic, old school atmosphere with a feeling of nostalgia when walking thru the door. Huge bar area with a Bevador behind the bar! You don’t see those around much anymore, few bars in the Buffalo area have them so I always appreciate seeing one of those… Sooooo Awesome!!! Free self serve peanuts and popcorn. Food is good and consistent. Great selection of beer. Bartenders are well-seasoned and very efficient.

Are Tuesdays usually busy? Maybe in the dining room… At the bar it wasn’t busy by any means. Not like every stool taken at the bar, the seating bar dining area and elbow to elbow in the middle ground area. Maybe the bartender was having a bad day, yet, that shouldn’t affect service. Other regulars noted, to get any sort of service, ya need to be in the middle or towards the door, what’s that about? Any how, hanging with a bunch of friends towards the bathroom end of the bar, it was nearly impossible to receive service. Simple politeness was useless. Especially did not appreciate bartender huffing every time I had requested a water refill; Not everyone can drink, and our group was buying plenty of beer. Is that a problem for some bartenders, customers who cannot drink alcohol? Never thought that would be a problem. Ordering food was just as much as an annoyance, try to politely ask for a refill when the bartender is nearby & add ‘may I also place a food order?’ only to see bartender turn their back. Pretty sure the order was also forgotten, took at least 45min for food to appear which was blatantly obviously were under heat lamps; Melted cheese on nachos & French onion soup should not appear cooled yet warm. Good thing there are peanuts & popcorn to hold over hunger for that time. Speaking of peanuts, what is the deal with all the shells on the floor? Is that encouraged? ‘Hey let’s eat here! There’s food refuse on the floor! Let’s eat here!‘ When they first opened did someone say, ‘Oh yea just throw the shells on the floor’ or is that expected behavior of eating peanuts? Why don’t you see them on the floor in the dining area, or general food that is considered garbage from the plate on the floor, ‘I don’t eat the tomato off the burger I’ll just throw it on the floor. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, peanut shells on wood floors are dangerous as fuck. I have not been to the brew pub in a very long time. It is the same as I remember it. Overpriced mediocre food with pigs on doors, what’s that about? The pigs… At least the beer selection was okay, too bad I couldn’t drink. Feel like a I should have left a mediocre tip.

It is as the name implies, a pub so expect this type of food. The service was good. It was a bit dark in there, but this is something I’ve come to expect anywhere that has televisions to watch while you eat The option for«help yourself» popcorn(not vegan-has butter) and peanuts was nice. The menu had a few vegetarian(easily made vegan) options. The 3 types of veggie burgers was nice(given an option outside of portobello and black bean). The coleslaw that came with it was a flavorless. The sweet potato fries(vegetarian) were quite good as was the soft pretzel sticks which seemed relatively fresh and very soft. The selection of beer(as one could imagine from being at a pub) was outstanding. The only negative was how greasy food seemed to be. It’s pub food.

Very impressed! Never had come here, but came on a date with someone and was very happy with the IPA selection. If you have good beer, you are a good bar.(This would be a punny review for Goodbar). Anyway, the bartenders were very friendly. It got kind of crowded though, so try and get there at a weird time if you don’t want to be bumping into strangers. Not my forte. I didn’t have the food, so I can’t review on that just yet. But the bar selections rule! They seemed a little bit unorganized behind the bar with their payments and whatnot, everyone seemed to be scrambling around the registers, but it was busy so whatever. The bathrooms were very clean which I appreciated, gross bathrooms are gross. And make me not like a business. Be clean please. Excited to go back and try the food! X’s and O’s! J

Great place. Fun, great atmosphere, packed every night. The food is very good, the beef on weck is one of the best I’ve had. The ribs are flavorful and tender. Soups are top notch, particularly the bean and sausage. Lots of craft beers on the menu. Which is good, since I’m not too crazy about the beer they make on site. Overall, an excellent experience.

We stopped in for lunch on our way to Niagara falls. I ordered the buffalo sampler, which consisted of 6 hot wings and a buffalo beef on weck sandwich. My dish was great, except the bun on the beef sandwich was very salty. I ate just the beef, which was delicious ! Others at the table had a Canadian burger, bbq wings and bbq chicken sandwich. Everyone was very happy with their food. I also ordered the local ale beer, which they brew onsite. It was an ipa, was very smooth and I would recommend trying it. I would definitely stop back if I was ever on my way back through buffalo!

I was pretty excited to come here, I had a sitter for the kid for the first time in forever and I was really looking forward to going to out to dinner with my husband sans child. And then we had Lauren as a server, and the dinner was a disappointment. Got here for an early dinner, it was still seat yourself. We sat down in a booth and a short time later Lauren came by for our drink order. We get our drinks and order our food, we got apps, entrees and also a salad. Now, an experienced waitress would have known to stage the order so apps come first, then entrees. I assume Lauren must be new to the waitressing game because she brought us all of our food at once. Apps, salad, entrees… all at the same time. I had a chicken quesadilla, and it was not good. It had huge chunks of tomatoes in it that were not ripe, it was more tomato than chicken. I ate two pieces of it and left the rest. The rest of the food was fine, the pub fries are really good! Ribs are fall off the bone tender. The salad is heavy on the dressing but aside from that pretty good. When Lauren came back to clear our plates(she never stopped by after food was delivered to ask how everything was) she asked me if I needed a box for the quesadilla and I said«No, it’s not good». She leaves it on the table anyhow and brings over a box. Ummm. Okay. I just told you it wasn’t good, maybe she’s on autopilot to bring boxes. She didn’t ask if I wanted a dessert menu(I would have gotten dessert if offered) or if we wanted refills on our alcoholic beverages(if she had, we would have gotten them). I just felt like she was rushing us out the door to flip the table. This was my first night out in forever and Lauren rushed us out. I am a stay at home Mom with money to burn, I was pretty put out by my experience. Will probably try again in future but hope for a better waitress next time.

The bf and I were looking for a place near Transit Rd/Eastern Hills Mall this week as we were meeting his family from Batavia and were planning to do some gaming at Dave and Busters. This section of Transit is lined with chains, but I knew there had to be something good out there. I remembered seeing Brew Pub on a map before, so we decided it would be a good place to check out! The parking lot situation is confusing, and it was PACKED. Luckily, the place is bigger on the inside and we got a table right away. Some first impressions may have gone awry. Our table was shoved in the very back corner and the ground was covered in peanuts, as they have free peanuts and popcorn. Now from what I understand, this seems to be the kind of place where peanut shells are thrown on the ground and it’s A-OK. But having a massive pile at your feet is a little awkward. The tables are pretty packed together as well, and I actually struggled to get out of my seat to go to the bathroom because the table behind us was so close. Interior aside, this place does boast an impressive craft beer menu. They had one of my absolute favorite winter beers on tap — Wolaver’s Organic Alta Gracia Coffee Porter, so I was very, very happy. We had a waitress and a waitress-in-trainee. She was nice but definitely has a ways to go – You don’t ask how you want a turkey burger cooked. My boyfriend was the one who actually told her that’s not something you ask.(Note that her newness has no bearing on the review whatsoever, I just thought it was funny!) ANYWAY, we placed a small order of wings and some burgers/sandwiches for main entrees. After ordering and waiting quite a bit, we realized that we probably should have specified that we wanted the wings prior to the burgers. Ah well. They all came out together and upon placing them on the table, the waitress asked«Did you guys want the wings before the rest of the food?» It would have been nice if she asked BEFORE bringing out all of the food. But really it wasn’t a big deal. Food-wise: The wings were very tasty and crispy. We just ordered hot, nothing fancy, but they were very good. I ordered the Southwestern burger, angus beef with BBQ sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. It was pretty good, but the BBQ sauce lacked zest and flavor; or maybe there just wasn’t enough? The burgers are a whopping 12 ounces as well. Naturally I stopped myself at around half… For sides, the potato wedges were standard, but good nonetheless. There was an up-charge for everything else, including a small side salad! Overall, a think a solid 3 works. I will go back if in the area for sure to maybe give them a second try, especially because there are so many chains in the area.

I always liked the brew pub! I still love the fact peanuts and popcorn are help your selfie here! And the peanut shells? Toss them on the floor! I also the beer menu here, nice selection however I feel some of the prices on brews might be a little too high in my opinion. Ok the food is good here, however I still like coming here for wings mainly. Nice crisp and tasty! The perfect way in my opinion and I put them up in my top 10 list for sure! There’s some other good items on the menu here to try as well! I’ll stop back in for sure as I always have over the years for the normal WNY staples!

So, Lee and I were spending New Year’s in Williamsville, and we were looking for a place where I could watch the Winter Classic. We’d been trying to decide between this place and Santora’s, which a coworker had suggested to me. So, I flipped a coin. Coin came up tails, so we headed here for dinner. Food was great. I decided for grins that I’d get the Buffalo Sampler Platter, which was half a dozen chicken wings, plus a little miniature Beef on Weck, that was almost slider sized. Lee had a Reuben, and we were both happy with our food. The roast beef was flavorful, the wings were cooked well and sauced nicely. I had a couple of beer flights as well, and they have an excellent selection of micros on tap. We liked it enough that we decided that we’d come back the next day to watch the Winter Classic. Our waitress was very patient and accommodating with us sticking around for the whole thing, although we were ordering a trickle of food throughout. We got more wings, which were still of good quality, and some other food, and more beer. Their own beers were only so so flavor wise, but they have plenty of selection to make up for it. All around, a great place with nice staff, decent food and good beers. What’s not to like?

I have been here more times than I can remember(close to 100) and have been coming here since I was a little boy. It holds a special place in my heart and is probably my favorite restaurant/dive in Buffalo. They survived a fire which nearly closed the place down, and serve some best damn food and Craft beer Buffalo can offer. Oh, and they have their own brewery on site. The Food: There are very few items on the menu that I haven’t tried and all are done to perfection. My favorites are the beef on weck, wings(the best and biggest in Buffalo in my opinion), and the very under rated burgers. The burgers are HUGE and I recommend them to anyone who asks my favorite item. The Bar: HUGE selection of beer which is rotated seasonally and cheap prices as far as craft beer goes. The bar can get cramped on busy night and is sometimes difficult to order from the bar. Happy hour on Friday is for sure their busiest time, but they have cocktail waitresses rotating through the crowd. This is a genius idea and I can’t believe that all busy bars don’t have the same. The Popcorn and Peanuts: They have had this since day one and is the backbones of this Buffalo gem. Anywhere that you can discard your peanut shells on the ground is just fine by me! KEEPUPTHEGOODWORK!!!
