It’s fine for what it is, TGIF quality food with an emphasis on very mediocre artificial tasting ice cream. Appropriate for kids but I could never imagine coming here without a young child. There are so many other places in the area that serve better food like Rock and Brews just down the street but of your near Knotts with some kids it’s fine.

My family came here on May 26th(Thursday evening) for my daughter’s birthday celebration. There were 10 of us in the group, 6 adults and 4 children. When we arrived, the host could not find our reservation and we had to wait about 15 minutes before they figured it out. Restaurant didn’t seem very busy when we arrived, but it still took about 20 minutes for us to get our first round of beverages. Our server was really nice but seemed like she had too many tables to deal with. We ordered some appetizers, finally received drinks and placed our entrée orders. The entrees came out before the appetizers showed up. We asked them to take the appetizers off of the bill. Two of the orders were completely wrong and had to be sent back. As we were waiting for our entrees to be fixed, the appetizers were brought out after we had cancelled them. The server told us that we could keep them and they would be taken off of the bill. We bit into the mozzerella sticks and they were still frozen inside. We sent the appetizers back. When we got to the desserts, I ordered a banana split. When it arrived, there were no bananas. I told the server it was wrong, and she kept telling me the bananas were at the bottom. When I finally convinced her there were no bananas, she apologized and brought some in a cup. Although I realize it’s mostly about the atmosphere, it was still very disappointing that our experience was lacking from the minute we walked in the door until we paid the bill. I can’t say that we would never come back, but it would definitely not be a top choice.

I was with a large group and still got good service. That’s pretty rare. I hadn’t been here since I was a kid. I co. pletely expected sub par food but pretty good dessert. To my surprise the food was great and the dessert, also fantastic!

Party atmosphere, loud servers, fun times — need I say more? On top of great ice cream came great food. I loved everything about the restaurant except for the long wait times. Next time I will definitely make a reservation.

My son has the great idea of hitting Farells on the way home from Disneyland 5−2−16. So we went. No reservation no problem. Once seated, we were promptly greeted by a server named Angeline. I noticed other employees had name badges, but our server had her name written on a piece of masking tape on her shirt. Angeline took our orders and we waited. 10 min later drinks arrived, we had strawberry lemonade and the cups were coated in sticky strawberry syrup on the outside. Needlessly messy. Food arrived 10 min later dropped off by another male Farells employee maybe a food runner? We noticed we had no napkins or utensils and asked him for some, I requested a fork at least to eat my chicken ceaser salad. No fork, and no utensils came. We did not have as much as a napkin at the table. After waiting another five minutes I got up and went to the silverware station and helped myself. Didn’t see a fork so grabbed a spoon. Returned to my seat and noticed my salad was missing a few things, what arrived was romaine lettuce cut chicken cubes and some thin slices of cheese, thought for sure they would be hiding under the lettuce. Missing was dressing tomatoes, and croutons. My sons chicken fingers arrived with no dipping sauce either. Now angry my wife flagged down the nearest employee and asked for napkins utensils salad dressing etc. Server still awol since dropping off drinks. Yet another employee drops off a handful of utensils and napkins for us. I would have returned my salad back to the kitchen, but with no service I would have had to do so myself. I ate it because I was hungry and had no other alternative. Our server returned nearly a half hour after receiving our order, and noticed the empty drinks, I handed her the empty plates as she seemed to want leave us without any attempt at bussing her table. I doubt she knew or cared what had happened in her absence. No apology given. Since it was my sons birthday we waited for the ice cream sundae. I was dying laughing inside watching our server put a candle into my sons sundae BUT forgetting to light it. I would have lit it for him but I forgot my lighter. Seems fitting, but how do you screw that up too? Time for the check, another few minutes. Amazingly the bill was correct! I could not leave fast enough. About when I noticed my salads problems I started looking for someone who resembled a manager. I never found anyone resembling a manager to report my woeful experience to. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but WOW how can Farrell’s be so bad?

What a fun place for kids! I’ve taken my niece and nephew for ice cream and they absolutely love it. It’s noisy, it’s chaotic and it is entertaining! There are so many birthday songs being sung in all various ways throughout the nice. Probably one song ever 3 minutes. Since the servers run around helping each other sing, the service is very slow. Don’t expect quality service or food for that matter. Instead, come here for a fun atmosphere for the kids and expect nothing more. Must tries: Strawberry shake is the best!!!

Came here on Sunday with my family-writing this review days later so I could have time to cool off from the horrible experience. The wait time was 45 minutes-not bad for our party of 9, and we were seated right on time. Our server happily introduced himself and was quick to return with our drink orders. Everything after that was a complete mess. After we received our drinks, our server didn’t check on us once for over fifteen minutes. ‘Okay’ we all thought, it’s busy and we are a pretty relaxed group. Our food took another 45 minutes to get to our table, which was absurd considering it was a simple order of two burgers, chicken fingers, and a bowl of chili(which wasn’t even warm). Even the simplest of things on our order were wrong and our server never asked how everything was. It was almost as if he was avoiding our table. Also, every 5 minutes, a loud siren would go off which means the employees would walk up the pathway with drums singing at what seemed to be the top of their lungs. Between all the mistakes with or food and ice cream orders, a server who was at our table a total of four times(including him dropping our check off and picking it back up), the constant need to yell over all the commotion, and the horrendously rude staff, none of us had a good time. Which is hard to do considering one of the people in our party was a four year old and she is happy about everything. I personally work in a high traffic restaurant. I understand that sometimes the kitchen can get backed up which causes food to take longer to get out. I also understand that sometimes servers get busy and forget the simple things. However, the experience was absolutely ridiculous and I will never return to this restaurant-even if the meal was free. Our experience was ruined by the rude staff and absent server.

This was every kid’s favorite place when I was growing up. I was when they closed the location back in Torrance CA, so when I saw this location open I was happy to see the Farrell’s experience was back to share with my kids! On to the reviews. I’ve read some good ones here and some not so good. All I can say is this; Farrell’s is Old Fashioned fun and should not be taken seriously like dining at a stuffy 5 star restaurant. It’s for kids! Loud, running & jumping around fun! This is the first time my family, including my wife and mother-in-law, have been to a Farrell’s. We took our just turned 8 yr old daughter for a birthday dinner and ice cream. They really liked it and our server, Haden, was really sweet and took good care of us! I’m sure we’ll be visiting regularly for many of our family celebrations!

Yah, this place is a mess. Service is okay but nothing spectacular. The parking is somewhat packed with kids and families generally not looking where they are going or walking in the middle of the street, although annoying not that big of a deal. When you walk in there though, UGH. Take the noise level of Chuck E Cheese, the annoying birthday songs of Red Robin, the lines at Disneyland and the ice cream at a fair and just ratchet it worse a level. First off, the noise you are in a smaller space so all of the screaming and yelling and laughter are bouncing all over the walls into your ear holes, no. The birthday songs are sung WITH A DRUM banging and occur every 5 – 10 minutes, No! Regardless if you call in you will be waiting in an area that is NOT A WAITING area where people are coming in and out trying to get to the counter NO! Instead of having some premium ice cream or something unique to match the premium pricing, you get literally thrifty ice cream in a bowl NONONO!!! This place has nothing to offer that is unique, it is not fun, it is not reasonably priced, it is not a great atmosphere for kids, it is not convenient and quick. Overall there is not a single attribute I can say this place has going for it.

The husband and I had been wanting to visit Farrell’s since we saw it open up right near Knott’s Berry Farm. I have fond memories of going to the local Farrell’s at the Cerritos Mall for bday parties when I was a kid. This place is packed, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation(online only from what I could tell). We came on a Sat afternoon for a 2:30pm res. We just wanted to come in for some ice cream after our trip to Camp Snoopy. We walk in and the noise hits you immediately. We were early for our reservation so we had to wait about 15 mins. In that short time we heard the obnoxious air raid siren and big bass drum no less than 6 times. Once we were seated we kept hearing it periodically, along with staff singing bday congratulations songs to popular music tunes(One Direction, etc). We got two custom 2 scoop sundaes and after I ordered I asked our server if they still make their own ice cream. She looked a little embarrassed and said no. When I asked her what kind is served she said«Thrifty ice cream». WTH? Each sundae here will set you back about $ 8. I couldn’t believe they had the balls to charge so much for Thrifty ic! Thrifty ice cream is great, don’t get me wrong, but to serve at an establishment once known for their delicious ice cream, in addition to not even being super premium(Cheaper kinds that aren’t super premium have much more air pumped in) is crazy to me. The sundaes were ok– I still couldn’t get over that it was Thrifty. The toppings weren’t a stand out either. All in all, my husband and I were both disappointed that the newly revived Farrell’s chain didn’t live up to our memories. Did not try the food, but based on the crowds, ice cream, noise/annoyance level, and high price point for what you’re receiving, I can say that we won’t return.

I came to Farrell’s full of excitement with my kids to celebrate an academic achievement award. Schools and PTA always gives out those coupons. We came at 3pm assuming it will be a light crowd. The hostess took my name and party size(2 adults and 3 kids). We were told to wait 45 minutes, and I have no clue why it always is a minimum of 40 minutes wait time at this place. I can understand 20 minutes, NOT40 when I see lots of empty seating areas and an empty parking lot. Geez! Ok, I get it… This is not Baskin-Robbins or Bruster’s. It’s not even Yogurtland… Still though! Not worth the wait! Thanks, but no thanks Farrel’s Ice Cream Parlor. Won’t patronize how they operate business management. For that amount of epic waiting, you should be giving complimentary ice cream cones to everyone waiting to be seated… the ones who can endure 40+ minutes of waiting with small children ages 0 – 12!!!

I came here one weekend with the husband since I was craving ice cream. I anticipated a long wait time since it was the weekend but we only ended up waiting for around 20 minutes. I knew this was a kids joint but man, I really felt super old as I did not tolerate the every 10 min siren/horn/drums/singing with all the different dessert treats and birthday celebrations. I ordered the chicken strip meal and my strips were so overcooked and hard. It was really disappointing. I already came in not expecting great food but when the chicken strips were messed up, it was just sad. My husband ordered the french dip sandwich which was better. He did not love it but compared to my overcooked strips, it tasted much better. For dessert, we had a banana split with our choice of ice cream. Even though we informed our waiter of some ingredients we wanted to omit, it was still included in the end product. Service: Mediocre service was provided. It really annoyed me that every time My water cup was empty and I placed it at the edge of the table, he was just look and ignore it. I would have to verbally request for more water or try and flag our waiter down. Another annoying aspect was instead of refilling the existing cup, he gave me another cup with each refill. I seriously had 5 cups sitting on the other side of the table since he never bothered to remove the old one. very lazy in my opinion. The price was not worth the meal and dessert we were served. I would consider this place all about the HYPE. I will not be returning.

My best friends niece had a birthday celebration here & I must say the ice cream situation had me screaming YES! I love ice cream, and to see it dressed so young with sprinkles & animals, & cherries, definitely brought out my kiddie side. The kids were entertained with finding the cherry in the whipped cream lol. A few adults indulged in the game and stole the show. I definitely want to come back for the ice cream. However, The pizza could’ve been better. I’m an avid pizza junkie and I wasn’t excited about it. If I never eat it there again, it wouldn’t be too soon. But, I heard the burgers were amazing :)

This is such a fun upbeat place to go with your family, friends and kids! Yes, this place is LOUD, but for the right reason! Happy staffs that LOVESTOSHOUT! You can celebrate your birthdays here. The staffs march out with drums and sings their upbeat«happy birthday» version while the alarm rings… perfect for your kids. The ice cream is the best. Variety of ice cream selections, or, you«make your own» selections. You can also dine here. They have a pretty decent lunch/dinner menu, as well as a kids menu. Highly recommend you book online reservation in advance. This place is «happening» and gets packed most of the time so if you want a short wait, it’s best to book online reservation.

What a fun way to end my Disneyland vacation. Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour looks like a classic old school type of restaurant. The staff are always screaming the top of their lungs with excitement about something or singing a birthday song to a guest. I ordered the Gastronomicaldelicatessenepicurean’s Delight! Yeah try saying that. This sandwich has corned beef, delicious stacked ham, oven-roasted turkey breast, swiss cheese, crisp lettuce, red, ripe tomatoes, sliced onions and Italian dressing on a parmesan-buttered roll. It also comes with a side of french fries. First when they deliver the sandwich to your table. They scream about this sandwich, so everyone knows you got this sandwich and are about to eat it. The sandwich may look small, but it is PACKED!!! I finished the gastro sandwich, but it literally almost gave me a food coma. The sandwich is delicious and the meats are moist. My girlfriend got the Old MacFarrell’s Burger. Much easier to say. Topped with two strips of crispy bacon, a freshly fried egg, melted American cheese and our Farrell’s sauce. The burger is delicious. Perfectly cooked. All the ingredients just works well with each other. I mean who doesn’t love eggs and bacon in their burger. For dessert we got the Gold Digger and Gold Rush sundaes. Gold Digger– Scrumptious butter pecan ice cream beneath a luscious lode of hot butterscotch and nuggets of fresh banana and fresh whipped cream. I wasn’t too crazy with this sundae. It was alright to me. Don’t get me wrong, it is a good dessert, but maybe the flavors wasn’t right for me. Not real big fan of the flavors. Gold Rush– Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, whipped peanut butter, hot fudge, Spanish peanuts, topped with pure whipped cream, mixed nuts, and a cherry. This was a heavenly dessert for me. O M G!!! Absolutely loved this sundae. Try it!!! A fun restaurant to go to.
