Seriously mediocre food that is overpriced. We moved to the main line from philly a year ago and have run out of new places to try. This food is uninspiring, mussels with over cooked shrimp, cheeses that can be found at wegmans charged with insane markup. Also the timing of dishes was all out of whack, call themselves a tapas place but I’m not sure they really understand the concept. I should note, our server was very nice.

We started with a dirty dish, flickering lights and a great deal of time between dishes. We were seated upstairs which was clearly not the place to be as your dish will be room temperature at best, the fish tacos were frozen fish on a tortilla and the porky belly was just fat. The best dishes for us were the sides. Very disappointing

We arrived after a seeing a movie at Bryn Mawr Film Institute looking for a quick bite and a drink. The service was mediocre and the food largely disappointing, the exception being the calamari, which was cooked to perfection. Two of us in the group had the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were seemingly created from frozen fish sticks and stale tortillas. My companion had the Scallop Waldford Salad, another tasteless and limp dish. The menu looked great but the execution was junior varsity.

We chose this restaurant based on many good reviews from other patrons. Unfortunately we did not have the same great experience. The service was good but the food was terrible — certainly not worth the price! Only two of the 9 small plates we tried were edible. The pork belly we had did not have any meat at all, just cooked fat on soggy bread. The rest of the food lacked seasoning and the sauces were greasy. Definitely pass on this one.

Came here around 8 on a Friday night after making a reservation through Open Table. Not too crowded or noisy. Great for a date or night out. I had: Traditional Margarita: Made with real fresh lime juice. The one I had was pretty strong. 9⁄10 Pork carnitas(3): smokey, slow cooked bbq pork with a Spanish twist. Pickled jicama on top was amazing– sweet and crunchy creating nice balance with smoothness of avocado and spiciness of pork 10⁄10 ½ roasted chicken: one of the large plates. With the rest of the food was fine to share with one other person. moist flavorful chicken beautifully spiced. Served with salad and thick gravy(perhaps mushroom based?) 8⁄10 salad(served with chicken): figs on a spicy green arugula salad with sliced cherry tomatoes and red onions. Didn’t eat the onions but the figs were the best part 8⁄10 Chicken tacos(2): larger than the pork ones and a lot messier. Very good but didn’t stand out too much. 7⁄10 Churros(4 small ones): served with chocolate. Crunchy and dense. I personally prefer a lighter churro, but they were still tasty. 7⁄10 Fed two people and came up to $ 70 with an allagash. Pricey, but very high quality. One of my favorite places on the Main Line so far. Next time I think I’ll stick to the tacos.

No vegetarian options to speak of, but the most amazing cocktails I’ve ever had. I’ll keep coming back for that for sure!

I’ve been here twice so far. Each time after 9pm, had no trouble with the service. Our server was great! Recommendations: Pork Belly, Black Truffle flatbread, and halibut. Honestly, I enjoyed everything here. I love the little bites menu. Getting to try a little bit of everything is fun and tasty. I will definitely come back.

Extremely Poor Service at this restaurant. We waited 15 minutes and no waiter came to our table. We asked the hostess for a waiter and waited another 5. When the people who came in after us got served we got up to leave. No one even said anything to us. Poor service is an understatement. We will not be back.

Had an awesome meal so I’ll give you the rundown. Haven’t been here before and decided to try it out, Blown away. Started with Calamari mad a crab corn soup which was creamy with chunks of fresh crab. Then We had this awesome bacon and black bean dish. Thick sliced fatty bacon topped over creamy black beans with cheese and plantains . Next the mushroom flatbread with goat cheese and red peppers . Finally we had the Spanish rice which was a bit heavy and spicy, but the best dish besides the bacon was the Striped Bass. unbelievable Fish. It came with a light sauce with pasta and mushrooms. The fish was so tender, and the skin was very crispy. I had a great first experience and I’ll be back here shortly. Seriously this place is no joke.

Great restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Good service. We had pork tacos, calamari, and strawberry guacamole and chips. The latter one was real good. The tacos, delicious. The calamari was fresh, but was oily and had on a very fatty cream dressing. It was so fatty, I got a little sick from it. All in all a good find. I will go back again.

A friend and I stopped in for lunch. There was only one server working. She was socially awkward. She didn’t say much at all to us and wasn’t very personable. The food was good. The short ribs and mashed potatoes was excellent. The scallops are good. It was a lighter meal which I liked compared to the short ribs. We did wait a while for our food though.

Very friendly and helpful server made it a good experience. Came to the table periodically to ask about the different plates. Though small, they satisfied each of the three people at the table. Very good carnitas, the Binn salad was light but refreshing, and yummy cheesecake at the end. The dessert was large and filling. Ambient atmosphere, filled up as the night got later.

Last night was my first dinner at Verdad in quite a while. My friend and I stopped here for dinner before a movie and were both delighted with our shared meal. I think the food has definitely improved a lot since my last visit. We shared three plates: Scallops with agave nectar, blue corn pancake and fennel: the scallops were plump and perfectly seared on the outside and tender on the inside perfectly complimented by the flavors of the fennel and hint of sweetness from the agave. Next came the Chili Fried Chicken with mole and smoked slaw: crunchy moist delicious chicken with a kick to it-fantastic. Then came the amazing Hamachi Ceviche Pizza with jalapeños and pickled radish — again great blending of flavors and heat. Service was fine until my date had to chase down the waitress to get the check so that we could make the movie on time. Otherwise it was perfect in every way.

We visited Verdad yesterday evening(Saturday night); we were meeting friends who’d made a 7 pm reservation. The parking situation is metered on Lancaster but we found a spot on a side street. I was a bit worried about service since most reviews mentioned that it could be hit or miss and mostly miss on weekend nights. Our server was great though. He had a calm and cool personality and was knowledgeable. His recommendations were spot on and he was transparent with us, letting us know he had to run to juggle other tables but also stopping to chat. On to the food(the alcohol is pretty good btw we ordered margaritas, beer and sangria): The food is tapas style so be prepared to share. We had 6 dishes and dessert, pork carnitas, rabbit, sliders, thick bacon, sweet potato and fondue and the coconut cheesecake. The cheesecake was divine. I highly recommend the carnitas and the rest of the table loved the rabbit. I just can’t eat such cute creatures, which was a funny subject for the table. Coincidentally,(or not) there was a cute bunny hopping across someone’s lawn as we headed to the car.

Food was great, service is a little slow. Sunday night so maybe they had a big weekend, but they were out of both the wines and the desserts we wanted.

Great food and a fun atmosphere. The carnitas were outstanding and the beet salad was equally well prepared and inventive. The tortilla soup had some real kick to it which gave it some real substance. The calamari was lightly fried and very tender. This is the good news. The less happy news is that this was a busy night and the waitstaff and front desk personnel could not handle it. The service was substandard. For example, I was served soup without a spoon and the waiter told me he would get one. Three requests later I was told that that they were“running the spoons through the machines.” Really? It was first service at 6PM! Later, I ordered an after dinner drink which never came and the check took 3 requests and 25 minutes! There were three people at the front desk and they did nothing to back up the overwhelmed waitstaff. Really bad service and no excuse. I would like to give them another chance but the service was so bad, I am not sure if I can.

I see some complaints regarding busier nights but we went on a quieter, holiday weekend night and didn’t have any issues with the service. The food was very good. We started with guacamole and Tacos de Pollo which were both very delicious. A chicken taco can be pretty plain sometimes but these were not; the sauce was really good. They are a good size and give you two of them so you’re not getting short changed on the portion. For our entrees, we ordered the filet and short ribs. Both dishes were excellent and, again, I believe the portions were good. Short ribs, if not done properly, can be dry and lack flavor but that was not the case here as they were well prepared. Dessert was nothing to write home about; I believe we ordered a cheesecake and it was nothing special. I enjoyed the Mexican Mojito I got along with my meal as well.

I give Verdad a solid 5 stars. The food(tapas style) was delicious and the waiters were super nice! In the past 2 weeks, I’ve been here twice already! That really says a lot! I hope their rating goes up on here because they definitely deserve it.

I’ve dined here before and returned early March 2014 for Tequila University. .Small plates in between tastings and instructions regarding 3 upscale Tequila’s, The Chef’s choice to match each tasting was superb. Left full from the tapas and more kowledgeable about Tequila.
