Was great once upon a time but gradually standards dropped. Rest room was usually filthy. At least one employee used it to smoke. Bar top and tables were not ripped down properly. Manager and bartender spent more time socializing than working. Have not been back for some time now. BTW the manager once asked me to write a positive review.

We used to visit another sushi place in Brunswick but started noticing the other place was getting dirty. When the front of the house is not clean you have to wonder about the back. So we have been to little tokoyo a few times now. Sometimes the service is superb and sometimes ok. Depends on waitstaff. The food has always been excellent but note it comes quickly so you may want to ask to slow it down. The restaurant is clean. Seats in the window section more intimate and cozy. The row in front of sushi bar not as comfortable. You r in the middle and open. Would definitely recommend for good sushi and service. The times we have been there it has been busy with a fast turnaround.

The food and service are good. We ordered tuna tempura and chicken soba noodles. The tempura was good. The soba came with miso soup and salad. The chicken soba noodles had shiitake mushrooms which had a burnt taste and even the sautéed chicken had a burnt taste to it. Overall food and service was good but I would suggest 3 star as the food seemed a little on costlier side.

This restaurant has a cult following made up of college kids and local folk alike. Fresh and delicious sushi at a reasonable price– a true rarity. Staff is always super friendly. The aura of the space is wonderful and clean. You’ll be happy you stopped here.

Not only best Japanese around but possible one of best you can go to period. The Gyoza is probably the best short of when Japanese friend made it for me.

Despite arriving at 6:30 on a Saturday, the service was quick. The sushi was fresh and tasty, the buckwheat noodles in my noodle bowl were quite good, and gluten-free is always difficult. My dining partner had Udon noodles with shrimp and the noodles were perfect and there was lots of shrimp.

So good! If you time it right, the service is impeccably fast. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and the best In the area. We always get an order of the seaweed salad and miso to start. We haven’t had a single order of sushi yet that fails to impress. Occasionally, you will hit a night where it is considerably crowded and, as any restaurant goer should know, wait times start to Creep up. Despite this, we still were in and out in a reasonable amount of time and enjoyed the experience thoroughly.(So much so that we are repeat customers) Possibly the best sushi in the area with a large menu. The ambiance inside is nice and the waitstaff is friendly and helpful.

Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered two rolls-crispy tofu inari and sweet potato tempura. Both were excellent-great balance of textures. Nice size portion for just $ 4 per roll. My soy milk bubble tea was also delicious! Service was quick and friendly, and I really like the atmosphere here. My only complaint is about the tempura that my family and I split as an appetizer. Soooo greasy and overly battered. The batter coating was literally thicker than the vegetable. It was basically inedible. Otherwise, a great experience!

I have to say, this was a fantastic experience. I sat at the sushi bar, and knew just what I wanted, and the service was amazing. I only had half an hour, and everything was so fresh and voluminous. Too much for me to eat. I will make this my «go to» Japanese restaurant. Excellent chefs, wait staff, cashier(she was amazingly friendly – I liked that) and spotlessly clean.

I wish I could write a better review but unfortunately I found the sushi to just be so-so. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great. Service was incredibly quick and friendly enough. May just skip sushi next time i’m in Brunswick.

Stupendous. Top to bottom excellence. Our scorpion bowl was smallish but potent and the rolls we selected didn’t produce a bad bite. Service: really good. Our server was quiet, fast, and pleasant. Didn’t get a name but he was efficient. Also, you get these warm towels with your water, they smell amazing and start you off on the right foot Food: again, I didn’t find a bite I didn’t like. We ordered the crazy roll, California, Philadelphia, spicy scallop, and volcano. Each were well-rolled and very tasty, although the Philadelphia was a little cream cheese-heavy for my liking. The edamame we had for an appetizer was salted to perfection and a solid portion for two. Another perk, and an aspect of sushi that does t receive enough attention, was the ginger and wasabi. The ginger was flavorful and crisp, very effective in cleansing the palate. The wasabi actually had a bite too. There is nothing worse than weak wasabi and the type they use clears your sinus, just like it should. General: I would, and will go again. Really strong performance and not much to improve upon. The price was also doable, totaling 65 $ for two with one drink, an app, and five rolls.

I’m here with my father for college tours. I am part Japanese and I was very very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We asked for the steak cooked rare and it came well done. The crab in the roll was fake crab and was actually fish. The roll also was supposed to include avocado but instead there was cucumber. The yellowtail was cut so thick and was not how it is supposed to be done. I do not recommend this place to anyone

I am on a «roll» at finding great places to eat in Brunswick. Little Tokyo has great food and atmosphere all«rolled» into one. I ordered bubble tea for the first time and was surprised how good it was. Ordered multiple types of rolls and was pleased with each one. Great flavors and combinations. I wish I had room and the money to order more but my bank«roll» was getting thin. Next payday I will certainly be «rolling’» back into little Tokyo for another delicious sushi roll.

It can be challenge to find a good sushi spot. Well I found one and it’s not too far from home! I tried bubble tea for the first time and pretty sure I found a new addiction. It’s a creamy drink that comes in different flavors(I chose chai) with little tapicio balls at the bottom. Theses have a unique texture and add to the fun with a wide straw that you get to suck up as you drink. We ordeded gyozo as an appetizer, which were cooked perfectly crisp edges and soft centers served with hot mustard and soy sauce. We ordered a few different rolls and they all come served together in this adorable little wooden boat. This was an exciting addition to the experience. The hawaiin roll with sweet potatoe was something new and so delicious. Even though is it bigger around I managed to get in all in one bite. All of the rolls we ordered were delicious, perfectly rolled together and a great medley of flavors. The waitor was engaging, funny, polite, attentive and even made reccommendations for us. I think I’m craving some sushi already.

Mai tai– far from the best I’ve had. Edamame– personally I would’ve liked a little more salt. Sushi– super fresh and large portions. Teriyaki chicken– great flavor and tender. The service was good. We will definitely be back!

This is the place where I first tried sushi. It was really good. It was the shrimp tempura maki. The Golden Banana is also really good. Since I became vegan, this place is still there for me. I really love the Idaho and the cucumber/avocado maki. You get the best deal by going during their lunch hours when you can get the 2 roll combo that comes with 2 makis, a small salad, miso soup, and edamame. Definitely try their purple haze sake. It is sooo goood! Also, the eager ninja saketini. The servers and hosts are always very pleasant and helpful and they remember you when you come in. That is very cool.

Pretty standard mid-range Japanese food here. We had a few maki rolls, edamame, miso soup, starter salad, and stir fried soba with beef. The sweet potato maki was a standout, the crunch of the fried sweet potato lovely textural contrast with the rice. The salad a low point. As is so bafflingly common, they choose to serve a salad of bland, out of season vegetables. A single underripe tomato wedge sullenly glares at you from the plate. They have«bento» lunches, but these are not served in a bento box as one might expect. We ordered a dragon roll as well, but the server forgot to put the order in, so that was disappointing.

When we don’t want to drive to Portland for sushi, we come here. The fish tastes fresh and the service is fair. We love the golden banana maki! It’s a family friendly restaurant with good food and at this stage in the game that’s all we can ask for! The location is perfect and there is always plenty of street parking in downtown Brunswick. I’ve been here on the weekends and it can get pretty crowded on a Friday or Saturday night, but I’ve never had to wait too long for a table or seat at the sushi bar.
