We stayed in Brunswick at the hotel and tavern next door to Byrnes in sept. We visited 3 of the 4 evenings there. First night was calm but enjoyable atmosphere. 2nd time it was earlier in evening and there was an ensemble of locals playing pleasant Irish tunes. 3rd night(Thursday) they had the ‘maine public safety pipe and drum corps’! These guys were awesome! They had the place in a fun mood and kept it going. None of us in our group had ever heard a bagpipe and drum group live before and we are glad we were there that night. So much fun. We did not have the food but it looked great too. We had already eaten at another place that was disappointing then saw the food this place serves up with a good time! Byrnes became our favorite hangout after a day of sightseeing. Byrnes would be our goto place if we lived in the area.

My husband and I went to Byrne’s Pub in Bath Maine. We had the fried pickle chips, and spud skins for an appetizer followed by the mac n cheese with Irish Sausage. The pickles were crisp and tart and the potato skins were real potatoes – not frozen. Lots of cheese, scallions and Irish rashers. The mac n cheese was perfect. Cavatappi pasta with tons of creamy cheddar. The sausage on the side just complimented the total meal. Now mind you, this is a pub – it’s pub atmosphere. Couple of slightly buzzed customers, rustic wooden tables and chairs. While i was in Maine we ate at «white table cloth» restaurants and we ate at lobster shacks, Rí Rá and Byrnes Irish Pub beat them both by a long shot. Skip the Kennebek Tavern and hit up Byrnes instead. You won’t regret it.

I’ve been here for dinner and drinks and brunch on Sunday. Overall decent food but I could really take it or leave it. Nothing great stands out about it good or bad.

I went here with my son for lunch. He got this huge footlong hotdog and he liked. It was a slow day, but we had a nice time. The staff were pleasant and the food was decent at an okay price. There were a group of elderly women playing cards and they looked like they were having a great time. But, I give the bartender a 5. One of the women was leaving the building and had a dizzy spell and fell… the bartender was there in a split second and tended to her, now that to me was awesome!

A true Irish Pub atmosphere any day of the year. In case your wondering about Saint Patty’s Day they have a count down clock on the wall to remind you. Appropriate Irish Pub music is always playing in the background.

Awesome place. Went with work on a Thursday night. Didn’t wait at all for a seat, very friendly wait staff, 25 beers on tap, reasonably priced, and excellent food. I ordered the shepherds pie, and it was incredible. It also came with this really awesome thick dense toast, that was practically a dessert. Much to our amusement, they do karaōke on Thursdays, so we got to watch locals show their skills, or lack of. Bottom line, this place was great. This was my first time there, and it certainly won’t be my last. Check it out.

Went there for lunch, was very dead, considering proximity to bus/train station and downtown Brunswick. B ut it was offseason. One guy was doing the bar as well as the tables, and he did fine since so few people were there. The food was basic, nothing to exciting, but competently prepared. Place was clean. But there isn’t much Irish Pub atmosphere unless there’s at least a bit of a crowd. I need to check if they do take-out because that would be a great option for food for the bus or train. Whoever put $$$$ in the price category is off-base, the place is about the same as most others of its type. — — — — -Followup — — — — — - Returned on May 28 at about 5:30 to a very full place, server was great, food came quickly despite crowd. One of our party has a veggie wrap which she said was very good, I had this open face pastrami type thing which was decent. Someone else had the Bangers & Mash and reported it was authentically Irish, i.e. boring. Fourth person had a BLT which was reported as good. But no fryer so no fries or fish & chips — that doesn’t seem very Irish, and the small menu could use those items.

Stopped by for lunch today, a beautiful fall afternoon. I sat on the patio and enjoyed a bowl of Irish onion soup. I’m an onion soup snob and this one grabbed my attention by adding cashel(Irish blue cheese) to the dish. The bite of the blue complimented the savory broth exceptionally well. Definitely worth the stop, so good in fact that I took a bowl of their beef chili to-go for dinner. I wasn’t disappointed, it was rich with just a bit of kick. The bartender was attentive and pleasant.

This is a very serviceable Irish pub. The bartender Juanita was great and very attentive. Service top notch. I sat at the bar and had a very good angus burger good just the way I asked for it. The selection of beers was fine. The patrons were friendly, had a great evening of conversation. Highly recommend. A bit hard to find though on a new street in back of the RR station.

Came here on a Saturday night in July– during a vacation– and it was completely dead. We were starving & cared much more about eating than ambiance anyway… but the food was disappointing. There was not much on the menu at all(especially if you’re looking for a healthy option). We settled for nachos as an appetizer, a grilled chicken sandwich & a caesar salad w/grilled chicken. The nachos were fine & they took the edge off of that«starving on vacation feeling,» but the grilled chicken seemed quite processed. While it had some ‘grill’ marks, it more likely came pre-packaged w/those marks and was popped in a microwave. The sandwich was served with potato chips, with no option for a side of veggies or anything else. The salad was ok. Lacked crispy, crunchiness and was pretty small for a dinner salad. The staff was very friendly and attentive & the place itself is cute & has a nice pub feel to it. Had I only come in for drinks, I’m sure I’d be giving Byrne’s much higher marks…

The nachos with cashelmole are the best! The bartenders are awesome. I was even able to make«my regular table» a thing. I highly recommend this place! A great place to go after work!

Bynres Irish Pub is located at 16 Station Street in Brunswick, Maine(there is also another Location in Bath, ME). My GPS didn’t actually recognize the street so if you happen to have the same mentally retarded GPS, then just follow the signs to the train station which is off from Maine Street and that’s were you can find Bynres. The wife and I arrived at about 6:30 on a Monday night and there were only about 4 couples and some folks at the bar. This concerned me, usually at this time of night a place should be packed full and also being located 2 minutes from a local college I would expect it to be busier. However the place was very clean and we were waited on within a few minutes of seating ourselves. Bynres is decorated with an obvious Irish and local sports teams theme and its fun to sit back and take a look at the memorabilia on the walls while chugging your beer. We started our meal with a creation called Cashelmole from the appetizer menu. Half Guacamole, Half Salsa and Laced with huge hunks of Cashel Bleu Cheese, this was served with perfectly crispy toasted Pita Bread wedges. The dip started with the flavor of a creamy cool avocado and cheese but finishes with a fiery hotness that hits you in the back of the throat. It is great, and we finished the entire bowl. It is also offered on almost all the sandwiches for a small added charge. As we finished our appetizer the meal arrived right on time. Simone had ordered the Americanized Shepherds Pie. I ordered a Karls Irish Pastrami Burger, one of the house specialties. The restaurant gives the option of also upgrading your sandwich with a pretzel bun so I went ahead and did that also. My burger was excellent. Cooked perfectly medium well, it was juicy yet still dead. The burger sat on top of a bed of cool Cole slaw and was topped with a generous portion of flavorful grilled pastrami and melted Swiss which was then drizzled with Thousand Island Dressing. Half Reuben, half burger and completely good. Simones Shepherds Pie was unfortunately a disappointment. The menu says ground beef and pork simmered in Guinness Onion Gravy which sounds excellent but we both found this to be very bland. The gravy tasted like water and the mashed potatoes that topped of the pie also tasted like they had been blended in the same water. After adding lots of salt and pepper the dish was a bit better but still sub par for an Irish Pub that should specialize in dishes such as this. So overall, regarding the food I will refer to the timeless recording artist Meatloaf(which is also one of my favorite foods), «Don’t be sad cause two out of three ain’t bad». Two very good dishes, one below average equals out to 3.5 stars for me. We will probably be back but not for the Shepard’s Pie

I really want to like this place. It’s close to home and Irish but the service/high prices are undesirable. The bath location had better service. Last time I went I paid 10.50 for a Jameson Neat. And it was NOT a double.

Wednesday Trivia Nights are the most fun time! It’s aided by my favorite nachos ever, my choice with their white bean and chicken chili. They are made with a delicious sharp cheddar and you really should try them! They made good reuben sandwiches and I like their salad with smoked salmon. The people are friendly, every sports game is on one of the many TVs there, and there is music on certain nights.

Ok. It’s a new location in Brunswick, very nice area being developed, Got here on a Friday night and it was busy. Service was good, but draft beer selection was minimal.
