I arrived about 5PM Tuesday to find the restaurant portion of the place is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Bad omen for me as I don’t like to eat at the bar. There was one table there with a young couple and a two year old toddler(in a bar? Train them early I guess). There was a gentleman at the far end of the bar engrossed with whatever he was watching on one of the 9TV’s in the place. Of course every possible sports channel was on each one. I sat on the opposite end of the bar and ordered a drink from the very attentive server. Let’s consider that the server-to-customer ratio was 3:1 at that point so service was attentive and excellent. Understandable but let’s see if that level of service remains when more customers show and the server-to-customer ratio changes. My drink was brought right away and no complaints with its vodka/cranberry ratio either since we’re talking about ratios. Sat for a while to enjoy the eclectic ambiance. Seemed to be a mix of Irish pub and Italian wine house with a small pinch of motor city. Not sure what to make of Saturday Night Fever being piped into this environment. I ordered the rack of lamb(Irish, Italian, Bronx?) because the server said it was good. I ordered another cocktail and it was as generous as the first. So far so good. Another couple of tables showed up and the young couple left. The toddler behaved and no loud screaming wanting out of the high chair. The server remained cognizant of keeping everyone happy — so far so good. She kept up with my cocktails — my kind of server. The rack of lamb is delivered by the chef. He might have also been the owner of the place because he had a sort of commanding humility about him. The dish, In a word, was un-be-freaking-lievable! It was Perfectly cooked; even the vegetables were perfectly cooked and I’m not a vegetable guy! Server kept coming back asking if I liked it and if I needed anything. At this point it was like a day at the spa, including a Thai massage, for my palate. After I was done with the meal, I decided to stay a while to help keep the memory of the savory lamb as long as I could. I ordered a couple more libations to honor the life of the lamb who gave all that I may enjoy the truest talents of the chef who prepared it. A definite must-do for for a slow Tuesday evening in Brownsville, Tx.

Went for lunch on a recent trip to Brownsville. I ordered the PORKTRIOSANDWICH(Pork schnitzel, ham and bacon topped with fried egg & served on brioche bread with lettuce, tomato, onion and a side of house chips). SALTBOMB! Too much gristle in the pork too.

May be a little pricey but by far the best tasting food in Brownsville. I had their special yesterday pork chop stuffed in carmalized vegies, awesome, mouth watering goodness. Most meals are big enough to share not like most top dollar restraunts. PS. The chef will stop bye your table to make shure the food is cooked to your preference.

So sorry we didn’t write last night when we were there. Most delish food in the Brownsville area. Rack of lamb was absolutely delish. Wait staff was very friendly and bartender was awesome. Even got to talk with the chef before dinner. There were 6 of us and you would of thought the restaurant revolved around us. And we sat in the bar area. Friend of ours had shrimp scampi, got 7LARGE shrimp. Was giving it away at the end because she was so full. Crab cake was so moist and fantastic. Would go again. Only one problem, they didn’t have our beer XX. But that’s ok.

Wait??? This is where Chef Nori moved to? Freaking Awesome! I absolutely LOVED his dishes from Café Shiriz and have missed it. Down side: there go my paychecks. Hahaha. But seriously. …NOONE cooks like Chef Nori. I can’t wait to enjoy his sublime cooking again(:

The presentation and quality of the food was disappointing. Texas Road House is a 5 star in comparison to this place. Furthermore, I have heard that if you are not dressed well they treat your poorly.

One of the best meals we have had in the valley! We happened on this by mistake and are so glad we did. We saw vino on the sign and we were automatically intrigued. As wine lovers, we have had a difficult time finding wine centric places in the area since we moved to the valley. We sat in the bar for a late lunch/early dinner and can’t say enough good things about it! We planned to just have appetizers with wine, but once we saw they offered Rack of Lamb… my husband had to try it. I had their filet. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. We started with crabcake appetizer, it was a little small but high quality and awesome. Had a nice Pinot Noir to go with our meal. Owner/chef even came out to ensure we were happy. Great food… great service. We will be back!!!

I live on South Padre Island and this place is as good or better than any island restaurant. Appetizers were beautifully presented with truffle sauces– the baked brie had an amazing pastry crust, the mackerel was incredibly flavorful. Main courses were a filet mignon– was much larger than I expected and done perfectly as ordered. I thought the side of square starch was polenta but it turned out to be really great thin scalloped potatoes. Other entrees were crab cakes and fish of the day(I think monkfish) and they were well liked by the dinner guests. They had several beers on tap, I had a high % barley wine that was okay, but the 9% Squatters IPA was the best IPA I have ever had–(and I use to make beer). It was dry-hopped, very aromatic and not bitter. We had various wines by the glass and all were excellent. We were there for a business dinner, great atmosphere for discussion, plenty of room and never felt any pressure to leave for the 2.5 hours we were there. The glass wine room is impressive. They allowed us to order slowly. Lots of parking and it was an easier drive than I thought from SPI to the location. It was a little cold when we walked in at 5 but didn’t notice it later after more people showed up. I would highly recommend for business or just a great dinner, and definitely plan on returning soon.

My wife and I were looking to have a night of celebration after attending a work function and having eaten dinner. We went to «Steak and Fork» to have desert and a few drinks. We sat in the dinning area and ordered multiple deserts and craft beer. A few minutes after we ordered, a server came to our table and told us that we either needed to move or leave because they would not serve us due to what we ordered. It was distasteful and insulting. No matter though, there was only two occupied tables on a Saturday night, very reflective of this establishment. Don’t waste your time there. Go to the Palo Alto Steak House, Madiera, or La Pampa. Those establishments treat their customers with respect and the food is fantastic. Stay away from«Steak and Fork».

Great bar atmosphere. We came in to have a few drinks and ended up calling friends to come over and join us. Quite but very nice bar, good music and great staff. Menu looked very good but we didn’t get a chance to try the food, but we will defiantly be visiting very soon for dinner.
