Great place for a hair cut. They know what they are doing, way better than your chain shops and not overpriced. Won’t go anywhere else

My Grandpa taught me some solid life lessons. Just like a clean car, a man also keeps his hair trimmed and well-kept. I have fond memories of going with my Grandpa as a boy to the local, Italian barber shop in old Kenosha, WI. Discovering Mizell’s Barber Shop gave me that same nostalgic feeling. I heard about Mizell’s when a few co-workers recommended them after I moved to Indy. I was living in Brownsburg at the time, so it was literally right down the street from my apartment — perfect! A traditional shop just like the one I grew-up with, I had a feeling this was the only barber in Indy I would need to know. I was right. They’ve got three 1940’s barber chairs and about a half-dozen waiting seats.(Mizell’s also has quite the history, you’ll have to go to find-out) It’s hard to tell when they will be busy, but I’m always willing to wait it out; besides, you’re bound to be entertained with that barber shop conversation! Houghie, Amy, and the rest of the friendly Mizell’s stylists will send you looking sharp. It’s $ 16 for a cut — they also do hot shaves. It is so rare that you’ll find a true-to-life barber shop these days. Even now that I’ve moved to Meridian-Kessler, I still make the trip over to Downtown Brownsburg at least once a month to give Mizell’s my business — I know I can count on them to keep me looking dapper.
