Empty shelves everywhere and no one to stock them or help customers. Instead of shopping for what I wanted, I just had to pick through what wasn’t decomposing or expiring the next day to pull together a few days worth of groceries.

Twice in one week I have lost money at this Kroger. Last week the cashier keyed in red cherries at a total of over $ 8 when in fact I bought red grapes that were only $.99/lb. I did not see this until later in the day because I was unloading my cart at the time she keyed it up. Then today the bagger says, «There you go!» and pushes my cart away as I finish paying. Little did I see that a bag was missing from my order. Lost another $ 8 and change. I have lost about $ 16 to this Kroger in a week. Will have to find a better place to shop.

This Kroger is where you shop if you need groceries and 1. You live in Brownsburg 2. You don’t feel up to dealing with the untamed wilderness of Walmart 3. You don’t want to spend a month’s wages on a week’s worth of groceries *cough*Marsh*cough* 4. You are for some reason incapable of leaving Brownsburg. I don’t know… restraining orders, fear of presidentially-named parkways, whatever. I don’t judge. This store is smallish and is definitely showing its age. The checkout area is cramped and often clogged with carts because for some reason this store is ALWAYS busy. It does have a decent beer and wine selection, and you get a 15% discount when you buy 6+ bottles of wine or spirits at once.

I’ve been living in Brownsburg for about six months and this Kroger is primarily where I shop for groceries. I’m not very difficult to please, but I do have a list of grievances/annoyances with this store: 1. Last night was the SECOND time I had to return a pack of chicken that smelled foul. There was a woman at the customer service desk in front of me who was returning four packs of bad chicken. Please, Kroger, stop trying to poison us! 2. The store is not well-stocked. It seems like you are out of at least one item I’m looking for every time I go. 3. Why do you stock your shelves in the middle of the day when everyone is there shopping? Most grocery stores stock the shelves late at night when few people are there. On more than one occasion, a section of the aisle was completely blocked with pallets and left me unable to get to the item I wanted, with no one around to move it! 5. I’m 45 years old and I’m still being carded for alcohol every single time I buy it. Seriously? I mean, I appreciated the compliment the first few times, but let’s get real. It’s getting annoying. 3. Please… start carrying Simply Gogurt. You carry regular Gogurt, why not Simply Gogurt? I have to go to Target in Avon to get it. I refuse to give my kids florescent pink yogurt. I can’t imagine that the Walmart across the street is much better, but I may start giving them a shot. They certainly couldn’t be much worse.

I have been shopping at this Kroger for a decade. Over the course of that many years, I have seen a lot of changes at this store: very few improvements. We all have to buy groceries. There are very few choices of where to shop. So, Kroger will not be making any improvements. In case Kroger would like to take a few tips, here are my suggestions. 1. Stop timing your cashiers. They ram my groceries into the holding area for a bagger at cannot keep up. Then maybe I won’t have to repack 80% of my bags when I get to my car. 2. Properly pack groceries. I take care to put like items together on the belt, I get to the car with ice cream in the same bag as window cleaner. Last 2 items left on the belt are allowed to be bagged together by default? Recognize that not everything for sale at Kroger can be put in a terribly cheap plastic bag. Recognize that the reuseable bags I bring in are not meant to hold 90 pounds. Teach baggers to CARE! 3. Stop merchandising product in the middle of the aisles. This stuff just gets in the way! If people want to buy it, they will find it in you store! 4 Get that crazy rude Indy Star salesman out of your store! My gosh, he ought to recognize me by now. For years he rudely interrupts my entrance into the store and does not take rejection well. I know how to get the newspaper delivered IF I EVER decide to do that! I quit going to the deli years ago. The ladies there were so rude, and one of them gave you a half pound of whatever you ordered every single time, no matter how much you wanted. I quit calling the store, district manager or anyone else. I don’t think Kroger cares. Very sad statement about how little they value customers. I will shop there, because this, believe it or not, beats Marsh and Wal-Mart, the local competition. However, I shop here a lot less. I would rather drive to Trader Joe’s and Costco. Both of those stores know all about customer service and appreciate my business.

Went to this location to buy my lunch. Arrived at 12:08. Nothing was prepared. The lights in the rotisserie case were out. The older lady at the deli counter acting like she was doing me some kind of favor. I spoke to JP, the deli manager, and asked what the deal was. He was very nice, accepted responsibility, and apologized. I called Kroger customer service because the deli lady’s attitude really struck a nerve. I asked for the store manager to call me back so I would know when to come back. No phone call. Guess I’ll go check out Marsh.

Nothing too special about this K-Roger, except for the self-checkout. This is the only Kroger I’ve been to where they have a plastic bag carousel at the self-checkout for placing your groceries making it easier for you to checkout when you are purchasing a lot. Now if you could be the first one to get to the self-checkout it would be perfect. This place is a zoo on the weekends. Try getting your groceries here on a weekday instead.

You give my little one free stickers and your sales have been fabulous this entire summer. Ten for ten on stuff that normally is over two bucks is where it is at! Ballin on a budget!
