The bar is very nice looking. They have a decent selection of beer and the bar is well stocked. I had the ribeye steak for$ 25. I have to admit it wasn’t worth it. The cut of meat was not worth the price. Service was good and the waitress was always willing to fill a drink or grab something extra.

The Sand Bar is our go-to restaurant. It’s close to home, has a lovely deck, and some nice offerings. We love the staff. They ask about our travels and make us feel so welcome. My favorite thing here: the club sandwich and potato salad. Fantastic flavors. Tom likes the Lighthouse Tropical Chicken Sandwich with brie and apricot glaze. This place is a little gem.

The potato chips and French onion dip are a great snack after a night of drinking. Waitress was very nice and it has a comfortable atmosphere.

Another place I tell all my real estate clients they have to check out. Our favorite little hole in the wall! The staff is amazing! Soon, they will be expanding, which is going to make this a really fun place! They make some great Martinis and be sure to go in during one of the sporting events and ask for their special drink… «The Man-Mosa!» Huge TVs, great setup, and you get the friendliness of the local Browns Pointers, giving it the feeling of a bar similar to the old Cheers TV show. If you really want to be given the local treatment… Ask if you can play«Twisted Jenga or be privileged to the Shot-Ski! Get ready for the expansion, including dancing and live music! Coming Soon!

I don’t know that I agree with the«dive bar» classification. More of a quaint, small town feeling. Very clean, nice décor, very friendly locals and servers! It’s attached to Brown’s Point Diner. I have been in the Sand Bar for HH(great!!!) and for breakfast. Yes, breakfast! The diner was full/busy(expected on a late Sunday morning) they told us the bar was open and had the full breakfast menu! So we sat in the quite bar, had the server to ourselves, enjoyed a mimosa and Irish coffee(one of the best mimosas I’ve ever had!) The breakfast was delicious and filling, the menu is pretty traditional with a few fun extras(smoked salmon!) I highly recommend the Sand Bar!

OK, I am a local and have watched the Browns Point Diner evolve since it made the transition from Archie’s Diner. The diner has made a lot of progress from some very rough starts both in food quality and service. When the Sand Bar opened we were excited because we too wanted to have a neighborhood bar. My wife and I have made several stops and had been fairly pleased with what we encountered. Tonight I was on my own watching football at home and got a hankering for some wings. Hey it was 5:40 which means I was good to go for happy hour wings so off I went.(I live less than a mile from the bar) The beer was good and cold, the bartenders friendly and the wings were good. Very much in contrast to the previous reviewer and I figured that they just had been there on a bad night. Everything was great until I got my bill and saw I was charged regular, not happy hour prices. When I asked what the deal was the bartender just shrugged her shoulders and said that the cash register figured all that stuff out. I told her the I made a point to get there before 6 pm to catch the happy hour. Again the shrug but nothing else. I know it is only a couple of bucks. Not a big deal in the grand scope of things but it is very irksome. No offer to fix the check or anything. They had a problem when the ownership changed with never giving an itemized bill and I suspected that there were some irregularities with the bills. Once we went to dinner with a single friend and had very similar meals and when we went up to pay there was no itemized bill, just a total. After we left and got home our friend asked what we paid and when we compared there was only $ 5 or so difference for our two meals vs his single. Next time we were in I asked for an itemized bill and got one. I explained to the manager why I asked for an itemized and since then they have now always given the full bill. It is the little stuff like this that takes away a star or two and will make me think about whether or not I really need to be a regular.
