Matt Borden is a true professional and unlike many contractors that I have hired in the past, he and his employees were a pleasure to work with. I have never taken the time to write a review on Unilocal or elsewhere for any business, but I want to do my part to help others who are looking for a good HVAC contractor know that they should contact Matthew R. Borden Heating & Cooling, Inc.
I needed to replace an old central AC unit at my home so I reached out to multiple local HVAC contractors, ranging from local family owned operations who claim that customer service sets them apart to the companies that advertise heavily on the web and in the weekly fliers that come in the mail (and who also pay for first place or sponsored listings in online directories). Many did not respond to my requests for a quote and one did not even respond to my return call after its sales rep called me (even though I requested to be contacted by email). I am not sure what or where I searched online that ultimately lead me to Matt Borden’s website, but I am glad I found his company. Matt personally responded to my request by email (as I indicated I preferred when I requested the quote) within one business day, and he came out to give me a personal quote within a few days.
Matt even showed up a few minutes early for the scheduled time to give me the estimate. He was incredibly professional and knowledgable about my existing system as well as the system that he believed would best fit in the limited space there was to install the interior coils. Matt let me know my options, ranging from economy to top of the line and did not try to pressure or up-​sell at all. He promised to provide a written proposal within a few days and even encouraged me to get estimates from other contractors.
When I received his written proposal, earlier than he indicated it would be forthcoming, it was very thorough, exactly what we discussed, and lower than any other bids I received so I hired his company for the project.
Within less than a week, two members of his crew, Curtis and Justin, arrived exactly at the scheduled appointment time to begin the work. They were both very courteous and respectful, incredibly hard working, and meticulous, not only in their installation of the system but also in ensuring that everything in my home and outside was cleaned and returned to exactly the state in which it was in when they arrived. If I had not been able to be home while the installation work was being done, I would not have even known that any work had been done … that is except for the shiny new exterior unit and the new system installed in my basement.
I encourage anyone who needs any work performed that Matt’s company handles to reach out to his company. You will not be disappointed with the quality or the work or the customer service.
