Walter Foods is the cat’s meow. The restaurant itself (and big backyard) are super darling. The servers and bartenders wear adorable uniforms, and are very friendly. There is sometimes a wait on weekends and evenings, but never more than 15 – 30 minutes. The artichoke dip is deadly good, and the burger is pretty awesome. I also love their thin and crispy french fries. Overall, both the food, service (and atmosphere) is wonderful. It will continue to be my go-​to spot in the neighborhood.

Having gone back a second time I wanted to add my newest dish find review!!!
Grilled Bar Steak — OMG, the steak was super tender and juicy basically perfect and really pretty large. The entrée came with french fries (theirs on amazingly salty, thin, chewy, and crispy — how I don’t know), and arugula which has no dressing but between the side sauces of horseradish cream, chimichurri, and meat juice a dressing it created.
I just can’t get over how good this place is. I just love the vibe, the food, the staff, and everything. Ahhh, please go!

5 of us came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. It’s a great spot, cozy and friendly. The service was very good, our waitress was helpful, attentive and funny.
We had a bunch of appetizers and oysters. I liked Brussels sprouts and the octopus. I had a spicy seafood stew which was just ok. My friends enjoyed their meals.
Even though we had a good time, I will not be too eager to go back there again. None of the entrees were organic, grass fed or wild caught. Everything was conventional. I expected at least one item to be sourced either locally or non-​conventionally. I kinda struggled when selecting my meal. But other than that it is a cool spot and they also now have a new speak easy spot in the back. It is a really cool Japanese spot.

Walter Foods serves up some great selection of drinks and bar snacks. Love the ambiance and the venue offers an environment and lighting that is great for kicking back and having a good time.

Brought the family over the Walter Foods for dinner on a friday evening. We made a reservation just in case but since we were eating with kids we were there early enough that we didn’t need one. We really loved everything. They had an asparagus side on special that was incredible. The fried chicken was very good. I also had a duck confit special that was incredible. Service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. The only thing stopping Walter from being a 5 star place is the fact that I ordered oysters and they were not that good. I’m not sure why, but they were just completely flavorless. Otherwise, a great experience and will try again to give them a chance to earn that 5^th star.

Super weird charles and white meat request.
I asked if there’s any white meat in the fried chicken. Most wait staff would be like «let me check if there’s any white meat» but instead got «I can’t guarantee anythin. It’s mixed pieces» so just sat there picking alternatives in case they didn’t have any white meat pieces. Perhaps he thought I was asking for all white meat as that’s what I ended up getting and it was pretty good. And Charles overall was a cool server.
Fried chicken was a Basic dish though. The gravy was very smoky flavored. Some mashed potato n that’s a wrap. Chicken was tender and moist but not in a Popeyes/​KFC injected way.
The vesper was hardcore. I couldn’t finish it. Tasted like everclear.

Fried chicken was out of this world! Staff was very nice and funny. Drinks were great as well. Must have the old fashion.

Fries and chicken wings are outstanding. Delicious cocktails. But if you’re super sensitive to salt, beware.

We lucked out on Saturday night at 7 and got the last table before the line started .

Our first dish pigs in a blanket surprised us when it arrived. One large hot dog in puff pastry slice up. But then we tasted it and we’re so happy. It had a great warm intense smoky flavor .
My friend loved his fried chicken browned, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Smooth comforting mashed on the side .
I got the trout on the waitress’s suggestion. It was cooked well and simply with capers, herbs and lemon,

I was excited to try this place on a rainy afternoon for lunch. Unfortunately the burger and fries were super salty that I couldn’t even taste any other spices. We were the only ones in the restaurant at that time and the waitress didn’t even come by to ask how the food was. Then the entire time she was engaged in a loud conversation by the bar with another colleague. Maybe the atmosphere it’s different for dinner but the one star I gave is mainly for the food.

My personal experience was just about a 5. Place looks like nothing outside but inside has that real hipster ambience in a spartan sort of way. It was a relaxing atmosphere for sure.
Our server was terrific and we never felt rushed even though the place was crowded and there aren’t that many tables in total.
My pork chop was excellent as was the side of grits. The roasted cauliflower was outstanding and the collard greens, spicy and with bacon, was probably the best representation of this dish I have ever had. Absolutely loved it.
My companions that ordered the bar steaks thought them to be a little tough, hence the 4 instead of the 5.
Nearby street parking is probable.

Dined at Walter foods on a Friday night thanks to my husband. He made reservations which is an absolute must (unless you don’t mind waiting around for too long).
One thing I noticed when arriving for our reservations there were about 5 tables unoccupied when you immediately walked in. We assumed they were reserved (they were) but after being in the restaurant for about 40−45min I was shocked to see how many people were told they would have to wait an hour for tables.
We waited about 25 minutes for one of the occupied tables to finish up. But aside from the longggg wait. The food is absolutely scrumptious! Oysters amazing, lollipop chicken wings were spicy but great (nothing lollipop about them their just chicken wings lol)
My favorite bite was the roasted trout! Delicious! I will be going back for more! Service was great our server was super attentive and sweet :)

This is a place you can come to time and time again, for simple but delicious fare. If you want American, classic food items, you can’t go wrong. They have great oysters and seafood, lovely salads, a banging lobster roll and the specials are always… Special. Top it off with some key lime pie or chocolate bread pudding.
I must say that they always have friendly staff from the hosts to the bartenders to waiters. They make you feel welcome and wanted. None of that snobby stuff.
There is a lovely outside patio and nice cool air conditioned interior.
And the drinks are strong… :)

I have been here a couple of times and every visit has been a delight. The food is phenomenal and is backed up by a great wait staff. Their brunches are good and the menu has so many options.
Prices are a little on the higher side but it is worth it. I truly enjoy their French toast and the steak and eggs. I took both my mother and boyfriend here on different occasions and they unanimously agree this spot it worth returning.

Delicious!!! I stumbled across this place late night looking for some desert. I found desert and so much more! It’s dimly lit at night which gives off a beautiful ambience.
It was fairly empty and we were quickly acknowledged and seated. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She sticks out in my mind almost as much as the food does. A+ for service!
Now onto the food! Our waitress was so knowledgable and lead us straight to the goods. We ordered a few small plates and desert.
The flourless chocolate cake was good, but the fried green beans were a smash hit! They had a delicious batter coating the outside similar to pancake batter. We also had the risotto balls which were nice too. This is the perfect place to catch a few small plates and drinks late night. If we are in the area we will definitely return.

Found this place on a whim walking around Williamsburg, they food was very DELICIOUS!!! I ordered the smoked salmon salad as an entrée. It was very filling and had avocado and oranges it and a lite citrus dressing.
Great service actually, the waitress was very warm and friendly. Their drinks are really good! There awesome actually.
Desserts which I love was awesome I had the apple and berries cobbler with ice cream and Chocolate banana pudding! Freaking Great! I really enjoyed this place! It’s was simple food but great flavors.

Pros:
* Recommend Walter Foods for large parties and it’s easy to make a reservation. I emailed
and Cali emailed back pretty much immediately. She was so sweet, friendly and easy to work with. They offer pre-​fix menus that you can find at
but our group opted for a la carte.
* Spacious and comfortable outdoor space that is great for the summers, nice touch on the temporary canopy because it makes a huge difference when the sun is unrelenting.
* Delicious and big complimentary starter muffins from blueberry to cranberry walnut
* My friends loved the food– from the Steak and Eggs (grilled skirt steak, two eggs & green salad… steak well marinated and cooked perfectly medium rare), Huevos Rancheros (fried eggs, black beans, potatoes, corn tortilla, salsa verde, guacamole, lime crema), and Fried Chicken n’ Waffles (pumpkin waffles with maple syrup & hot sauce).
Cons:
* At $ 11 each, the brunch cocktails can serve as a deterrent for more money conscious foodies. One friend even called it out asking if we can go elsewhere!

The ambiance here during the nights is nice — dim lighting. I’ve been here twice so far, first time was a Saturday night and it was pretty packed, so we sat at the bar and ordered the Walter burger. The fries are crispy and thin, the burger cooked perfectly with a heaping of bleu cheese (you can choose your own). Second time I came here was a Tuesday for an early dinner — they have happy hour on the raw bar (half off) but do not have a happy hour on drinks :(The french dip here is amazing!

C’était pas mal. On est tombé dessus par hasard parce que tout les trucs autour était fermés. La bière était pas mauvaise du tout, les plats très bon.
On a juste du attendre un maximum.
Et les américains né savent décidément pas servir des huitres. On pourrait presque croire qu’ils les lavent avant de les servir en fait …

Globalement un peu cher pour la qualité des plats. Les frites étaient excellentes et les lollipops en entrée aussi mais très déçue par le French dip. La baguette était limite frite et c’était plus un sandwich qu’autre chose un peu décevant pour le prix. La part de tarte au citron est petite mais excellente.
