One day I realized, «Oh crap, I haven’t had an eye exam in a while» & «I’ve been paying insurance for vision for 4.5 years & I NEVER used it.» So I got on ZocDoc & it led me here. Everyone here was really nice. There was a little bit of a wait time, but that’s expected at any doctor’s office. The eye exam went really quick. My prescription changed so I decided to get new frames. The woman behind the counter was extremely helpful. We went through about 10 – 15 frames. She didn’t mind me taking pictures and sending them to my friends for second opinions. She was really helpful in helping me pick out my new frames. When I came back to pick them up she said I inspired her to get new frames too!

Let me start off by saying I LOVE the service I got from Dr. Bondarenko and the nurse. However, they do not have a bathroom for guest who are schedule to be seen there. Which, I find very odd. I was asked to use the bathroom at Nathan’s because, guest in the pass have over flooded they bathroom. Then I was told how they keep alot of items where the bathroom is. I just feel alot of BS was being told to me and I all I wanted to do was us the bathroom. Also, I found the front desk staff who’s African American w/glasses needs to learn more front office skills in talking to ppl. Her tone was rude and ready to FIGHT. When dealing w/the public one doenst know who’s who and sure always be mindful of that. If I can see Dr. Bondarenko at a different location I will but, I will not returning to that location.

First time I went to an eye doctor and she refused to give me my prescription. The OD started off my telling me to order dailies instead of using my weekly. She wanted to order a trial pair of acuve 2 in my new prescription I told her I have used this brand for years only brand that does not give me headaches. Anyone who is looking for their contact lens prescription don’t go here. They are over priced and try to sell you products you don’t need.

I’m basically blind without my glasses. So when they broke one evening, I fumbled for an old backup pair and immediately made plans to go to the plaza the next day to get a replacement at Cohen’s(or possibly LC). My family has gone to Cohens for years, so they’ve been more or less the ‘default’. Walking in from the parking area however, I noticed a new happy bright orange storefront with frames on display, and on a whim I decided to take a look. I never made it to Cohen’s. The lady behind the counter, Liz, was sweet, knowledgeable, and knew just what I was looking for style-wise. And as an added surprise, the place actually has a tag team of full-service licensed optometrists that come in almost every day of the week(which Cohens/LC do NOT have). No appointment needed either, even for stuff like eye infections. So not only did I get my prescription updated, but I got a full eye exam and checkup, glaucoma check included. AND the checkup was covered by my insurance. Score. Not so much the frames/lenses(it came out to a pretty penny), but not many plans cover those these days. Still, it’s worth the expense if you make each pair last as long as possible. Oh, and the optometrist, Dr. Bondarenko? Awesome. Considering I have a bit of a phobia with eye-related stuff, the fact that I would voluntarily go back there for my next checkup tells you a lot. He coaxed me through the close-to-the-eye bit of the glaucoma test, and while it was still a bit stressful thanks to the phobia, I felt like a total winner afterward thanks to the way he talked me through it. Very positive experience. The people behind the counter say the other doctors are just as warm and friendly, and I’m inclined to believe it. So, checkup, done. Prescription, done. Now just gotta wait 2 weeks for the actual glasses. Looking forward to it, and I’ll update here when I get them. [Edit: The frames took a little longer than 2 weeks, which was a little annoying but not worth a star off. Coming in again to pick them up was just as pleasant, and the glasses are still holding up perfectly 6 months later.] Oh yeah, and I was also told that I have a «petite face» and that my PD(distance between pupils) is the same as a child’s. I’ve never felt so cute in my life! With that, I say goodbye to Cohen’s. They just haven’t been the same since their management changed and they started cutting corners on quality. Vistacare has a whole family of new customers now. :)
