I tried many things here. I found mostly everything to be too light on flavor for my liking except the Sole Oreganata and Pizza. The place is busy, not as much as it used to be. The service and atmosphere is awesome: perfect for a date night or just grabbing pizza with friends or alone.

Pizza was great. Crispy bottom, piping hot. All were happy with their entrées. Didn’t rush us out on a busy Friday night. Staff was very pleasant.

This place is a Bay Ridge institution! The food is consistently delicious, classic red sauce style Italian fare. Personal favorites on the menu are the mussels in white wine garlic sauce(with plenty of their homemade focaccia for dipping), chicken Marsala, and the shrimp pasta with peas, prosciutto, in a cream sauce. The atmosphere in the restaurant is casual and the prices are on our with the other restaurants in the neighborhood. Service can be pretty slow, particularly when they are really busy, but over all well worth your time and money on a night out! Helpful tip: pasta dishes are huge and can very easily be split between two people!

We like Vesuvio Pizza, especially their lasagna pie which is exceptionally delicious. The service is excellent and the prices reasonable. Overall it’s a busy, friendly and happy place with a classy ambiance for a pizzaria. Try it, you’ll like it!

Nobody gets 5 stars. This place came close(as far as pizzerias go) and definitely is in my 10 best(pizzerias) in Bay Ridge list. I will award best slice on 3d ave. to them. I come here every once and again for lunch, sometimes for a dinner. I am partial to a certain grilled chicken panini I find myself ordering every now and then when I’m not in the mood for a slice. The restaurant part is pretty good too, serving popular Italian food, very well prepared and served by a very nice staff. Continued success!

I love Vesuvios. Great food, great service, and nice atmosphere. Most Italian restaurants in the neighborhood(Like Ginos) are very loud and noisy. I have been to Vesuvios over 20 times and I never once felt it was too hectic or loud. My go to dishes are Penne Vodka and Chicken Marsala.

My director just loves ordering from this place. I on the other hand much prefer the wraps from the hospital cafeteria. But hey who can complain about free lunches? Monthly dose of chicken masala, cheesy pasta, house salad, garlic breads — and best of all — their primavera pizzas! Ate three slices in one sitting and didn’t rip off the cheese(usually I find the cheese from most pizzerias to be too rubbery). Hopefully we get more pizzas and less of the other hot foods(generic and not great). Would love to sample the rest of the pizza menu!

This is long overdue. The Melanzanna is my favorite if you like eggplant. It takes a long time, but it is worth the wait. Dine in service is professional but warm. The Vesuvio pizza is another favorite. The only thing is, peppers get soggy(because they are peppers, full of water), so don’t try to store this pizza in the box. Use a plate and foil. I’ve actually had a lot of terrible food in Brooklyn, so please stay solid, Vesuvio! I don’t want to cook seven days a week. I just tried the spinach, my favorite vegetable, after many years and can’t believe how good it was. Sadly, I will admit it is better than my spinach. Thanks for running such a lovely place.

So after writing my review, I was contacted by the owner Antonio. He told me told me that next time I’m there to let him know. That weekend I was in NJ& on my way back I decided to go to Vesuvio for dinner. I asked for Antonio and he is so nice! I finally got to try the pizza! I don’t know what pizza you guys are eating but the one at Vesuvio is delicious. I also noticed there were a bunch of pizza orders to go because the delivery guys kept coming and going without a break. It was very busy that day! I didn’t know we needed reservations but we got seated in 15 minutes. There’s nothing more that I can say that I haven’t said in my original review. The food was on point! And even though it was busy, Antonio kept checking up on us. Everyone was so nice. Can’t wait to go again. Thanks Antonio.

Coming in since I was a kid When speaking of the pizza I notice a change 2 Italian men used to make the pizza but not anymore They chose cheap labor over good product Now one of the men stands behind the counter with his sons Pizza is bland and top dollar And never had a chicken roll with chicken not bread crumbed until here Gross! The kitchen food is still great but better pizza found in area

Decent chicken parm. Didnt have any complaints from the people I ate with. The bread tasted fresh and chicken was seasoned well. It didnt blow my hair back but i would definitely try it again.

Brooklyn, will you deliver to my home in Queens? This place makes a mean Caprese pasta, ALMOST better than my mother’s. I did notice after my 2nd visit that the prices changed on the menu… Which is OKAAAY as long as it means you’ll be giving me more pasta and more crostini.

Previously, I reviewed my experience eating-in at Vesuvio’s – that is to say, ‘stopping in for a couple of slices from the counter’. I feel that really wasn’t adequate for such a neighborhood fixture, and so in this review I’m going to focus only on the quality of a full pie(which I’ve had now a few times, without any distraction such as booze, or dinner companions). I’m prepared to say now that Vesuvio’s is in the slender upper-ranks of local pizzerias which I would trust along with my three other ‘go-to’ places. I’m adding it to the regular round of pizza choices I make during the month. Vesuvio’s does indeed have its own unique taste – hard to detect at first, but discernible upon close study. This is why I need to single it out for praise – whereas(as I’ve said in other reviews) the problem with most Bay Ridge pizzeries is that their product all tastes the same(and, that taste is flavorless and immemorable). Now, to break it down: ‘Bay Ridge Pizza’ on 77th&5th is distinct because they add the most cheese and have the biggest floppiest crusts. Sometimes thats what you want. ‘Pizza Wagon’ on 86th&5th is great because their sauce is the perfect brightness and sweetness; and their cheese is properly salty/chewy. They’re my #1. Rocco’s(the only other member of my top-picks) is a place I don’t go to for pies but rather for their rolls and entrees). But Vesuvio’s holds its own in the local ‘pie vs pie’ matchup and here’s why: –a fine, thin, crust. Could be even thinner; but it is in the right range to be considered thin. –cheese(while not plentiful like BRP) is just just salty enough to hit the right note; and what it also does is provide the right ‘tug’ as you break off a bite. This is a mark of good quality. –the sauce is not – as I previously thought – the usual tasteless sauce of 95% of all neighboring pizza joints – the Vesuvio’s sauce actually does have a subtle flavor. It is tangy and really, MELLOW. It’s got ‘under-notes’ of flavor. Not ‘bright’ like PW but very pleasant all on it’s own. –the Vesuvio pie is not ‘heavy’; the slices don’t weigh like rocks in the stomach. –Its one of the best-looking pies visually(along with PW). The sum of all this is that it’s a pretty decent pie after all. One that deserves top consideration whenever deciding on pizza night. Prices, service, cleanliness, and variety are all fine as well. Good job, Vesuvio!

I don’t know why I never came to Vesuvio, it’s in my neighborhood and I’ve passed by so many times saying to myself I need to come here. Finally I did and I am so glad for it. My go to dish is the penne ala vodka and after looking at the menu for 10 minutes, guess what I ended up getting? The penne ala vodka with chicken. I was not disappointed as when my food came I ate the whole thing! I told myself to save half for lunch the next day, but that did not happen. I will most definitely come back here. They also have certain dishes for $ 9.99 on Tuesdays. What a steal!

I really Do love this place. Service is always excellent. Food always fresh. Portions are pretty good but beginning to get smaller. My ONLYDRAWBACK is that prices keep going UP. Geesh. Like every other month. That’s crazy. Why do your prices keep rising??? 1x a year is OK but they increase way too often. I want to go here more but the prices GEESH for a bowl of pasta and $ 2 extra for Whole wheat. That’s wack.
