EXTREMELYHORRIBLEEXPERIENCE. So we recently visited this place for some appetizers and coffee. Not only was the food sub-par but they also berated us for not ordering main course dishes! Three servers ganged up on us and started discussing about us in their native tongue. This is the height of unprofessional behavior. A customer should be able to buy whatever he/she wants not be discriminated over the dishes they chose. They were extremely concerned about their table cloths getting ruined by us! Not only am I not going there again but I’m going to suggest every living soul I know to not step foot in there. TL;DR — Horrible food. Not great food. Not going again. Also, I wish there was a 0 star rating on Unilocal

I feel bad for other places when they say they have good Indian food. No. This place is better. I’ve traveled far and wide and cannot find a better tasting place than this. This is probably my 4th review of this place. It’s that good.

DISGUSTING! The only thing that tasted good was chutney and water. the atmosphere was good but not kid friendly. When we told the owner about the nasty appetizer taste(old oil) he started ridiculing us. This is after waiting more than 1 hour with no food at our table. We got up and left, plenty of options on this street. Will never go back and definitely don’t recommend.

i like this place and its food. The waiters need to be more patient though and stop asking every 2 minutes if we’re done.

The food here is delicious I eat at alot of Indian spots but mostly hole in the wall take out authentic Indian spots on coney island Ave This place is a real sit down restaurant serving not only people of Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi ethnicity, more towards a mixture outside cultures(meaning easier for the American palate) More creamy less oily for example More boneless than Meat with bone which is usually in the other spots I go to All in all, both style are delicious and the food here is quality! Definitely a go to sit down Indian spot in bayridge Kashmiri plates and tandoori are delicious Vandaloo and makhani dishes are yummy as well!!!

Came here with a friend for lunch. Outside the restaurant and awning makes it look like a dingy, old restaurant but once you go inside it looks better. Not spectacular but better than i expected. We had the mushroom bahji for appetizer. I had their chicken tikki masala while my friend had their mixed biryani. The mushroom bahji was flavorful. The poori was puffy and a little oily but went went with the mushroom. The chicken tikki masala came in 2 parts. The rice was in a bowl with a metal cover while the chicken and the sauce was in another plate. The curry was spicy but not too spicy. The chicken pieces were flavorful and full of flavor. My friend’s mixed biryani looked huge. It kind of reminds me of fried rice. Plentiful of lamb and chicken. After tasting my dish, the mixed biryani is a little dry because it didn’t have any sauce but it was still well made. Overall, the food is pretty spectacular and the service was good and attentive. Prices at this place is reasonable and fair. Can’t wait to come back for my next visit.

The Korma is delicious. I like that the place is dim. They also have Bollywood in the background on television.

The service… umbelievably great! I would say, the best service for Indian Restaurant that I’ve ever been. Food is great, so tasty! Condiments are flavorful, i didnt need to put so much extra sauce. Its tasty already. Me and husband loooovvveeee Indian food. He normally dont like Chicken Tikka, but he loves the Chicken Tikka here. We are so glad that we found this place and its just few minutes away from our place. We will come back!!! Im still stunned of how delicious it was and how great the service was… love it!

One of the coolest things about New York City is that you can find many different restaurants from all over the world. When I lived in the south, I needed to drive an hour and a half to find a respectful place who serve decent Indian food. And for someone who spent a year of her life in India, I can tell you that the Indian food is usually a hit or a miss. And when it is a miss, sometime it is the kind of miss that you only notice after few hours. But not at Taj Mahal! Fresh, nice people, and strong spices, the way Indian restaurants should be. I didn’t take photos since we agreed on «No IPhone» kind of dinner, and you know what, maybe it is part of the fun. Good food, served by good people.

You know what? I don’t care if they refill my water every other sip. This place is amazing. The overly attentive service brings them from 6 stars to 5. Amazing, delicious, and not expensive! The extras really make the meal: best papadums ever, served as a pre-appetizer appetizer; yellow dal and shredded cabbage as petite sides with your meal; and a mini coconut custard topped with a golden raisin after your meal. This is separate from any appetizers, desserts, or sides you might order, and add to the feeling of a truly regal meal.

What was the best part about my visit? The Mango Lassi and the parallel mirrors that produce a seemingly infinite reflection in the restroom. I ordered the Tandoori Dinner which included soup, one samosa, two pakoras, papadum, cabbage, lentils, lamb curry, one lamb kebab, ¼ Tandoori chicken, rice, naan, rose water custard pudding, and tea or coffee for $ 28. It was a filling meal. The food was okay, not the best Indian food I’ve had. The servers were nice, but it felt like we were being rushed. They asked if we were done multiple times while we were eating. It was a decent experience.

This palace is spectacular. Who thought the taj mahal would have such good food. I had the chicken Tikka masala. So good. Great flavoring and my other friends had some other renditions. Service is great and price is right. Great for dates and casual dinning all around. The water boy is on some next level with his service.

If I could smile while writing this review, I would but I can’t because I’m currently chewing a mouth full of the Malai Kofta I just ordered. Amazing flavor. They are always consistent(for eat in, I have never taken out) with their dishes. Vegetable Pakora appetizer and Poori bread are sooooo good. Happy this place exists. Service is very good too. Even on a relatively busy night, they still always manage to get your stuff out very quick. Haven’t screwed anything up. They do try to take plates away quickly so if there’s anything you wanna take home, let them know.

Great food and service. Their dishes are large for the amount you pay. My mom always gets the tandoori dinner which is the best deal, you get a small appetizer sampler, entrees(plural), soup, cabbage, lentils, rice, naan and coffee/dessert all for under $ 30! If you like balucchi which is a chain of indian restaurants in the city, then you’ll definitely love this place

This place really exceeded expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, although the seating was a little bit cramped. My friend didn’t receive one of his orders as well. However, these small mishaps mean nothing compared to how delicious and visually attractive the food was. First of all, I’ve eaten nan my whole life but this nan was special and tasted amazing. Second, the rice wasn’t just plain white rice but actually had flavor to it. Third, my chicken tikka masala was really tasty. Eating that with my rice and nan was truly a «yeah man» moment. We also got free desert at the end after our meal. And all of this for 20 dollars a person. Truly an amazing experience.

Love this place! The atmosphere is great; I love going here with my boyfriend. Upscale ambiance with a $ 30 bill is always good. I love the chicken tikka masala! I usually get that. I’ve also had the onion pakora — good but just good. It was a bit tasteless. The banana pakora on the other hand, I would definitely recommend! It’s sweet and delicious. I had the chicken soup and to be honest, it was average. I didn’t really like the texture. But it was pretty flavorful. The best thing about this place is the consistency with quality and portions. The food here doesn’t come in the typical little bowls, but in larger oval bowls. I always have leftovers, which is a plus. The service is good but they fill up water glasses too much & it can get annoying. However, this is common in most Indian restaurants. Also, they give you a small complimentary dessert before you leave. Love this place, definitely will be back.

5 Stars for the service! 3.5 Stars for the food. The service was absolutely impeccable here. The waiters were always around to check up on you and I believe we got 2 or 3 complimentary additions to our meal(not sure what they were, some red ball that reminded me of a falafel, the starting unlevened bread with sauces and some sort of pudding-like dessert.) The food I wanted something SPICY so I asked the waiter what is a spicy shrimp dish and he told me to get the Shrimp Vindaloo, so I did. It wasn’t as spicy as I had hoped for but the tastes were delicious. Theres something about Indian food that is so intricate and delicious. I would recommend this. It came with potatoes mixed in with the shrimp. My friend ordered the Lamb Sabzi dish that he said was very delicious. We also split a mango lassi to drink, but it was too sweet for our liking. All in all good experience!

This place is my go-to Indian restaurant. The food is always good and it’s cheap! I went with my boyfriend not long ago. We got the mixed vegetable hors d’oeuvres. These are all delicious but my favs are the samosa and the banana one(not sure of the exact name). I ordered lamb tikka and my boyfriend ordered chicken tikka. Both were great. They come with jasmine rice, which is also good. Also, the wine here is super cheap. One glass of wine was 4 dollars! Shocking, I know. Our check at the end of the meal was about 50 dollars. Overall, the food is great and you can’t beat the prices!
