Nice décor, and they brew their own beer! I went on a weekday late evening for drinks and it wasn’t terribly crowded. But, after having gone twice, and hearing from other friends, the bartenders are oddly pretentious(our bartender was pouring a beer from a tap that was pouring out absurdly slow and ignored us until he finished pouring, all the while talking to other bartenders about how slow the tap was). It’s definitely a hipster bar but other Brooklyn bars are able to be hipster without being a dbag about it. I would go again because they do have a cool concept of rotating chefs

If every Brewery had horseraddish beer cheese, 20+ beers on tap as well as High Life beer and shot specials, low lighting with great iron empty lampshade lighting fixtures AND an upstairs connected independant coffee shop like ninth street espresso… then we would all win. If you don’t know, now you know!

Awesome brewery with a cozy industrial feel and tons of beer to choose from. They have a selection of about a half dozen of their own beers on tap plus a selection of «friend» breweries they also carry. This makes for a great selection. There are pilsners, stouts, sours, and Belgian style beers, so plenty of choices for any palate. Service is excellent and came by to check on our party very frequently. They’ve also added an outdoor space which hasn’t opened yet for the winter, but looks nice. the word is out though, and it’s become popular and gets crowded at night. Get in early to make sure you can actually get a table. They also have a kitchen that is taken over by local restaurants on a rotating basis, so there’s always something new to try here if you need food with your drinks.

My friends and I showed up at this place on a Saturday at around 6:30pm and wow was it packed. This is a find an empty seat, claim it for yourself type place so before we could find a table, my friends and I hung out at the bar. The bartender is so forgiving when you make the wrong beverage choice. I had ordered the cider on tap and it contained too much«barnyard funk». I had to switch to the Atomic Serve which toned down the funk and was much more drinkable for me, an alcohol light weight. Finally, a table was free and we rushed to the table. I believe this place has rotational restaurants and yesterday’s was Battersby. Since we were amongst super close friends, we chose family style and had almost everything on the menu. Horseradish Beer Cheese — heavy on the horseradish but great on the toasted baguette. Shishito peppers — can’t mess that up… or can you? but they didn’t. Chicken Liver Mousse — one of my favorite dishes. It didn’t taste like iron and on toast with the shallot jam — muah — perfection. There’s never enough toast so we asked for extra. Butternut Squash Salad — the presentation was pretty with lots of parmesan on top. Roasted Broccoli — contained other veggies on the dish so I really enjoyed this dish. The broccoli is not mushy. Yay! Crispy Potatoes — They’re like little bite-sized potatoes where they are coated with the siracha mayo(mild not too spicy) and scallions. Another favorite dish. Cheddar Bratwurst — I don’t remember the cheddar but I’m sure it was in there somewhere. It’s like a hot dog… but a bratwurst. Chicken Strips — went very well with the ranch dressing. Fun place with an energetic vibe.

This place is fantastic; it’s enormous, beautifully decorated, and the rotating restaurant residency is brilliant. The beer, on the other hand, is uninspired. I tried six beers and they were mostly bitter and/or watery. Maybe it’s just that their winter beers aren’t so great. I don’t know… I’ll try again in the spring. Even so, this place is a gem and you should check it out. It’s a new brewery and they’ve got room to grow.

A great place to relax and drink or have an event. The space is large with booths or tables & chairs and a back area for parties. It’s family friendly and a fun atmosphere. The bar is long and fits plenty. There is a lot of beers to choose from, some of their own and other brewers. The menu gives good descriptions of what kind of beer and alcohol content. The servers were also kind with suggestions. I like the idea of the rotating restaurant pop-up. When I went, it was Mexican food and it was delicious. I had the enchilada which was a very big portion and priced well. The menu had one of each main Mexican dish(tacos, burrito, fajitas etc) The tacos seemed over priced for just two. The only suggestion I have is to brighten up the space. It’s way too dark in there and makes reading the menus difficult.

I love trying out all these small breweries popping up around the city. I was happy when some friends suggested meeting up here for some dinner and drinks. They served a number of there own beers as well as some from other breweries. They had quite a bit of hoppy IPA’s on their menu which always makes me happy. I was kind of in the mood for a stout that night though, but they didn’t have any that were made by them. Oh well, I was able to make myself happy by trying a couple of their IPA’s. I really like the idea of the random restaurant pop ups. This way you can have something different every time you come. When we were there the choice was Mexican. I can’t remember from where though. After a few people around me ordered the fajitas I just couldn’t resist. Every time a waiter walked by with one the sound of sizzling and the smell made it hard for me to even think about anything else. They tasted just as good too. If I lived in the neighborhood I would probably be a regular.

Got the table beer for HH and it tasted alright. I love breweries, esp when they brew it on the spot. The place is full of BK hipsters. I will update my review once I get the chance to taste the other beers.

Really enjoyed this place. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with friends. I tried the brisket sandwich which was delicious, and just the right portion size. The beer was delicious as well. As a group we tried a few different kinds and we’re pleased with all of them, especially«Was it good for you» and«Brett duck porter».

The place is okay. That’s all I can say. I make a point of visiting microbreweries wherever I travel. This place just opened last January so I will give them a break for now. I will try to visit again after their brewing technique has been tweaked a little. Let’s just say I tried a wheat beer and an IPA. They were ok but certainly not memorable. The ambiance in the tasting room area is a bit bleak, and dreary. Small round bare tables with a bench on one side and a chair that looks like it came from an old elementary school classroom on the other. This table is wobbling as I now type. They must have hired an insane person for the interior decorating. There is an old dirty rusting bathtub just sitting there in the corner of this sitting area of the tasting room. I hope it’s not one of their brewing tanks!

A fantastic place to sit outside, snack, and drink with friends. The focus of the menu is beer, obviously, although they had lots of wine and liquor also. Some of the beers are way better deals than others. I ordered one $ 7 guy, that I thought would be really flavorful and interesting and instead got a mild, not even strong 5oz lager. The pop-up restaurant that was there when we visited was taco-focused, and quite awesome. The chorizo and al pastor were flavorful and fresh, although a bit small for the price(maybe/definitely I am spoiled by my taco upbringing in Austin, TX.) Minus one star for a truly weird waiter. It was like being on an awkward first date, where he continually made unfunny jokes and would get pissy with us for asking questions about the menu.

An in-house brewery with a fantastic patio, GREAT service and restaurant pop-ups from NYC fave spots? That’s an equation for 5 stars in my book. I came here after my brother’s wedding for brunch with a large group. I had a lot of initial misgivings that were all immediately thrown out the of window because this place is SUPERB. I walked into the brewery thinking, «Why’d he pick this place and how are they going to accommodate our large group?» Walked onto the patio and immediately understood. They can and would and it was going to be fantastic. I went to this post-wedding brunch thinking I couldn’t possible drink again(their beer menu convinced me to have two, albeit, they were sipped veryyyyy slowllllyyyyyyy…). Their I Hate Myself was my favorite(and was fitting for my hungover state-of-mind) it was also the table’s favorite — I think almost everyone had one. And I wasn’t sure I could stomach breakfast. But my brother said the hueevos ranchers from Torterillia Nixtimal weren’t to be missed, so I obliged. …And proceeded to lick my plate clean. Such a simple breakfast that arrived so quickly! The shining star though was the outdoor space. Open and breezy with shells lining the floor and vines crawling up the wall. You don’t feel like you’re sitting on a picnic table outside of a brewery, even though you are. It’s a beautiful courtyard. Kudos to you guys for making such a kickass place.

Threes Brewing has been on my «cool things to do in Park Slope/Gowanus» list for a while now. So glad I got to cross it off last night. However, the pop-up restaurant featured right now(a taco restaurant) was fairly underwhelming: The tacos were small, expensive, and dry. We all know great Mexican food is hard to come by in NYC, though, so I wasn’t that disappointed. I think the food will depend heavily on which restaurant is featured, but I also suspect it’s never going to be as great as dining at that restaurant for a number of reasons. With that said, I’m still giving Threes Brewing 4 stars because I dig the space, vibe, and overall concept. It’s a refreshingly laid-back and spacious place with an outdoor garden, plus the rotation of buzzworthy restaurants(Roberta’s, Battersby, etc.) means you always have an incentive to come back. Even though I didn’t love the food, I’ll be back for a beer and a small bite next time!

Had several Threes beers from various bars in the city, so was pumped to get to go to the actual brewery on a Saturday afternoon. Most of the people were sitting in the outside area so I took a seat at the long bar(really spacious). Tried the«You People» — An IPA with medium hops that has a long bitter taste. Paired well with the Elote($ 4), big corn on the cob with cheese and chili powder. A solid experience overall but I found their pours to be on the small side. They had a bunch of Mikkeller brews on tap that day but only 5oz pours at around $ 8 each, which is really high. Glad I came here to taste some brews, though will stick to trying their stuff at other bars.

The first time I found out about Three’s, I went three times in a week. Seemed appropriate. Since they opened(in March?), Three’s has been rolling out the beer and doing a damn fine job at that. Prices have gone up but are otherwise reasonable. The beer is very, very good. They lose the star because, let’s be realistic, no one in this city is competing with Other Half, but it’s an awesome place to hang out. The outdoor space, completed via a Kickstarter campaign, is fantastic. The idea of a rotating kitchen is beyond brilliant – I’ve eaten there when Roberta’s and Battersby designed the menus, and everything was excellent. As I write this, I’m realizing I’m also going there tonight. You should, too. Thumbs up for Three’s.

Great place with a huge bar and kitchen with a roster of rotating chefs. I’ve been here a few times already and had Mimi’s Hummus, Roberta’s Pizza, and DBGB Kitchen. Fair warning, if you go for food from one of the more popular restaurants, you will be waiting a while for your food. For some things, it takes no time at all, but for instance, Roberta’s Pizza, you might be waiting upwards to an hour for your pizza. Their beer is great. I’ve enjoyed almost everything I’ve tried, but Wandering Bine is probably my favorite. They also make a decent cocktail if you’re in the mood for hard liquor. Haven’t yet been able to make it to the backyard(it’s always packed), but it’s a really cool space. Service can be kind of slow but it’s a very chill, laidback place.

There are a lot of fans of Threes Brewing, unfortunately I would not be able to call myself one. I have come here in two separate occasions and was not impressed. What I am not impressed about is the service, cleanliness, and loudness at the brewery. The servers never come by your table to see if you need a refill on water, but will always come by to see if you need more beer. The pizza made by Roberta’s took like an hour to come out and when it did, it came out separately where some of the group finished their pizzas before others got theirs. The cups were not very clean and when we asked for new cups, the server did not bring it. The brewery was blasting music so loud on a Saturday early afternoon. My friends and I were surprised how customers could bring their babies/children and subject them to such loud noises. There are some positives of Threes Brewing. Their choice in beer is great. What I do like is that the Threes Brewing beers are quite tasty and is always a great cheaper option to the other beers on tap. Threes Brewing also tries to have a variety of other beers that I do enjoy as well. Also, there is a great outdoor space you can enjoy yourselves in.

Threes Brewing is a very spacious spot with a beautiful backyard filled with tables & benches. The décor is simple but nice: green plants were placed around the walls & were growing into the fence & broken seashells were scattered throughout the ground. Besides serving their own farmhouse ale beer, which is made on-site, they have specialty beers from several other small breweries, wine & cocktails too. They also have some caffeine on the premise, which is located in the front. Threes Brewing Super Fucking Yawn, the Millstone Cobbler Cider, & the Cantina di Sorbara Lambrusco are some of the selections available. I was here for only the drinks but as the servers came by with food for others, it looked & smelled delicious. I was informed that they rotate the food vendors to keep the menu interesting. When they first opened last year, Roberta’s, known for their great pizza pies, was on site & also BrisketTown, which is a BBQ joint located in Williamsburg. I came on a weekday during the afternoon a bit before happy hour & it was already filled with hipsters & parents with baby strollers so it can be difficult to grab a seat. Overall the service was good & the drinks were tasty & refreshing.

A friend of mine visited me in NYC about a month ago and raved about a brewery that cycled through a restaurant every month or so. Back to present time, I had just gone rock climbing with friends at Brooklyn Boulder and they had chosen a place for dinner, so I tagged along. As soon as I walked in and took in the setup of the place, I knew this must be the place my visiting friend had been talking about. Our group got a pitcher of beer, as it saves us a couple of dollars. They have around four different types of beer, all with a sort of citrus-y taste I believe. Pretty good. The restaurant there at the time was a Korean one called Insa. I’m Korean and I thought that the food there was kind of disappointing. It’s not really a traditional Korean restaurant, more like a fusion. Their main dish was bibimbap for $ 15 if you add squid, $ 16 for bulgogi, $ 14 for nothing added. Nothing spectacular, they don’t add sesame oil so it’s kind of bland. We shared three between five people. They also had a lot of appetizers available, ranging from soondae(not very good, kind of soggy) to friend chicken(the best thing they had to offer, different sauces available) to steamed rib meat(which was a whopping $ 19 for a tiny block of meat.) One person wasn’t eating the appetizers or drinking beer so didn’t chip in for those, but the rest of the bill split amongst four costs us each over $ 30. Alas I can’t really blame the brewery for the food; the review is more for people who may be going there in May and looking at what food to order. I love the concept of Threes Brewing, of rotating restaurants through their place to give people a variety of food options to eat with their beer. I would come back again once a new restaurant comes in.

Very cool place. In a(still) gritty corner of 4th Avenue, this place is unassuming from the outside but once you walk in, it’s surprisingly spacious. There’s a little coffee place in the front and if you keep walking back, there’s the bar, a performance space and nice garden. The décor is great… kind of rustic and industrial. The service I had from all the bartenders was excellent. The beers were pretty good. I had the Vliet(a pilsner), the Wandering Tree and the Unreliable Narrator. I liked the last one best. The food(Korean style when I went there) looked good. I didn’t have any but my friends who ate liked everything, although one thought the portion was small for the price. The dumplings seemed to be a big hit. This is a perfect place to hang out with a group of friends and if you can get a seat in the back garden on a nice day, it will be wonderful.
