Look at this place. This is the definition of dive bar. Beast of Bourbon’s music blaring on the background, one sorry pool table upstairs, kept alive by its regulars — gotta love it.
It’s still NY of course, so anticipate those $ 8 beers. But its chalked up walls and dim basement-​esque lighting carefully curate that thin line of ambiance between charming and unsettling. Service is solid and mostly prompt, and though the drink selection is a pittance compared to its cousin in the next room, most will find something to their taste here.
