Just ordered delivery, it took 40 mins and I only live 2 blocks away. Also, I called during the middle of lunch and they charged me dinner prices! Are you kidding me?! The food is not really that great, the sushi rolls are okay(they give you a tiny amount) but stay away from the pad Thai, it’s dry. Do yourself a favor and don’t eat at any restaurants with 3 stars or less. What’s the point in spending money if you’re just going to get mediocre service? I grab food on Montague street all the time, and I know there are plenty of good Asian joints here, just not this one.

I’m rating this based on take out delivery. Every time I order, everything is fine and the delivery is fast. Found them on Seamless and they’re my go to when I want a healthy, quickly delivered lunch.

When Tenda is «on» it’s really wonderful. I’ve just found their sushi to be too inconsistent to rate higher. I’ve had a bunch of 5-star sushi dinners; but sadly a few 2-star experiences, as well. But I keep giving it the benefit of the doubt and including it on my local go-to sushi list and dining there. FWIW the miso black cod is consistently very good.(Not like Nobu, but this is an affordable alternative.)

I think A-ok is the best way to put my experience here at Tenda… I came here because of the $ 8.50 bento box lunch special. I can honestly say it was worth it! Everything was decent, nothing was great, but nothing was bad. Everything was just mediocre in taste. One thing I thought could have been better was the teriyaki chicken. I do not think it was of the best quality, and the sauce was watered down. The box was also supposed to come with a california roll… but if by roll you mean 3 pieces of a california roll then yeah… it came with that. I was so hungry today I just ran in here to grab food. Probably will never go back again.

I always order from here for delivery. Today the sushi came w/the rice not fully cooked. I was so dissapointed! It is unacceptable for a sushi place to serve their rolls with uncooked rice!!! Also their Tuna tastes not fresh– it has a weird taste to it. Their fish isn’t as fresh either! And their miso soup was extremly salty today.

Terrible!!! Bad food, slow service and an eye-rolling waiter. Just a horrible experience from beginning to end. I will never return. Much better across the street at Lantern

I never got to go inside and visit! They knew me by my voice at Tenda I swear after all the times they’ve delivered to me. Tenda is definitely not where you want to go for an upscale sushi experiece, but it definitely gets the job done in regards to providing large portions of decently fresh sushi for a low price. I would usually order a 3 roll lunch special which included 3 house rolls, a small salad and a cup of miso soup for $ 10.99. Yes $ 10.99. Deliveries were always prompt and I never had any mistakes with my order. The 4 star rating I feel is deserved based on my experience with the 3 roll special as I feel it’s a tasty deal for the price.

I wish I would have read these Unilocal reviews before ordering Tenda Asian on Seamless yesterday. They had such a high star ranking, I thought for sure I was in for a delicious dinner. Proportion wise I got a lot of food. I ordered thai vermicelli — which was suppose to be spicy, it was, but very generic tasting. Not very thai tasting, or complex. It seemed like the ingredients were pretty fresh, but I had a bite of chicken with a bone in it, and another bite that was very gristly. The tom yum soup was average — big huge chunks of tomato. Online it listed celery. Either way, a strange combo. The shrimp was a little dirty looking I have to say. I’ve definitely had better. Edamame appetizer was large proportionally and the only dish I finished. Although many pieces didn’t look very fresh, I was very hungry and the taste was just salty enough to satisfy me. Delivery was super fast from downtown Brooklyn to Fort Greene, impressed by that. Too bad its not tastier.

Another dud in the row of duds on Montague. A hodgepodge of asian foods including sushi, Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian and Japanese. Nothing is all that authentic or done well. Sushi is not worth it and the pad thai was merely meh, erring on the not so good. Really striving for mediocrity here. Best thing about the place is the outdoor patio and that they have fast delivery. Stick to Iron Chef House nearby for sushi and walk over to any other Thai restaurant for your noodles fix.

I stopped at Tenda for a late lunch last week… the odd solo lunch, magazine in hand, is a favorite stress-relieving hobby of mine. Anyone else? Okay then. So for me, Tenda was good, solid, nothing exceptional. Whenever I move to a new hood(as I just did), I tend to prowl around for the best sushi spot — Tenda, alas, probably isn’t a contender in Brooklyn Heights. The good: I ordered a glass of white wine, which was actually quite nice… sushi restaurants can be hit-or-miss with wine, so consider me pleased. The portion of edamame I ordered was big, fresh and perfectly salted — not overly so, just right. Service was friendly and a-okay. The less good: My sushi roll(avocado and cucumber) came out within one minute of ordering, before my salad or my edamame. Not to be a stickler, but I prefer my salad before my sushi. The salad itself was a bit of a miss — maybe more my fault than theirs. I ordered the«crispy tofu salad» and what came out was hot, deep-fried tofu squares on top of heavily dressed lettuce. The lettuce was warm as a result, which made the entire affair into an icky mess. I tend to go with plain green salads, so maybe I just didn’t know what I was getting myself into. The roll itself was average, but I wish they had a brown rice option as other restaurants often do. I’d definitely come back to try other menu items(and a non-warm-lettuce salad), but Tenda probably won’t be on my go-to list unless the second try really wows me.

I ate at Tenda last night, and it was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I got major, eye-rolling attitude from a waiter, who apparently wasn’t pleased that I was dining alone. I waited forever for my food and watched as people who sat down well after I had ordered got their meals first. I got more attitude when I asked when my food would arrive. And to top the whole thing off, the waiter set someone else’s DIRTYDISHES down on my table as he was clearing them. Not just for a second, not by accident, just set them down and went about his business. Disgusting. I used to get take-out from them once or twice a week. Never again. There are plenty of good sushi spots in the neighborhood, who can at least grasp the basics of decent service.

This review is on Sushi only!!! I sat outside on a nice night but that was the only thing I liked about this Tenda Asian Bistro experience… First off the waitress was not friendly and I couldn’t underdstand what she was saying. Second, it’s not cheap for what you get, and third the food is not good. I had the Boston roll which was cut way too big I also had a spicy tuna roll which didn’t taste fresh and the spicy salmon hand roll was awful… Never going back

I recently had a sushi lunch here at Tenda with my aunt. Now I have been living in the neighborhood for over 2 years now and this was the first time I had ever tried Tenda. For lunch, I had the 2 roll lunch special with a spicy tuna roll and a yellowtail scallion roll which of course came with soup and salad. Both rolls were good but not great. For the money though, it’s a good deal especially in this area. The service was attentive but that may be because we were 2 of 6 patrons in the place on a quiet winter Saturday. Still, there are many other decent sushi joints in the hood… and I like to spread my sushi seed around.

If I could I’d give them no star at all. Major disappointment yesterday! It’s been a while since my boyfriend and I ate at Tenda and it used to be one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn Heights, well no more after yesterday. We went around 1PM, which typically isn’t as packed as when the clock hit 12. We were able to get a table since the restaurant wasn’t majorly packed, but as soon as the we were sat down — the disappointments just came along. My boyfriend and I were waiting for about 10 minutes for a waitress to take our order and we were ignored not once, twice or maybe even three times. It took almost 15 minutes to actually get a waitress to take our orders and at least, our food came at a decent time. I’m not sure if my boyfriend’s dish was a major let down since it was just a spicy salmon roll and a regular salmon roll. However, my dish was a major and horrible let down. I ordered a Vegetable Pad Thai and oh man, I totally regret it but I had no choice to eat it. I didn’t like the Pad Thai because first of all, the noodles weren’t the same as I’ve had it the first time at Tenda and many other Thai restaurants. The noodles almost looked like Vietnamese noodles that goes with Phở. It was slightly thinner than the noodles that are typically used in Thai cooking. Before I even decided to squirt the lemon juice on the Pad Thai, it already had a funny taste to it and it tasted like the whole dish was sour. Pad Thai isn’t suppose to be sour. When I eat Pad Thai, I expect a tangyness and a bit of sweetness. I also think it’s weird that there was string bean and large pieces of scallion in my Pad Thai. It was the worse Pad Thai ever. My boyfriend and I left the restaurant much disappointed and vowed that we would never return.

This is my #1 go to spot in Brooklyn Heights. The food is amazing, and the quantity is great for the price. Can I also say the delivery is beyond super fast! By the time I put down the phone my buzzer is already ringing. Order the pineapple fried rice, thai rice noodles and chicken and asparagus. Also go in an enjoy the beautiful garden during the summer. Best asian food in the Heights hands down.

Decent. Nothing truly special about the place except that they have outdoor seating in the back, which isn’t even all that unique. Though I will say that service was fast and not mean. Prices were good for what you get, though I will say that they hauntingly reminded me of Manhattan prices. I know we’re pretty close to the bridge, but still! Give me a Kings County discount! I had some sort of noodle dish which was fine. Good amount of food. I won’t say bang for buck but it was getting there. I came with a large group so for the implicit challenges that a large group brings, I will say that the waitstaff fared well. Would come back if I had nowhere else to go.

I come here for one reason, and one reason only — Volcano Special. It’s this perfectly presented dish of crab(real crab too), shrimp and a bit of salad, covered in avocado slices and get this — shaped like a volcano. It’s cute. And it has this yummy sauce, I have no idea what it is but it’s probably crack. Every time I come here I always order it as an appetizer — definitely something you want to share with at least one other person if you aren’t a greedy piggy like me. On a recent trip I also had the beef/chicken satay — it tasted a bit dry/overcooked to me. Also had a few bites of my friend’s beef teriyaki — it was slammin’. And the presentation was great. Some of the other entrees have been hit or miss for me, I stick to the sushi which has always tasted pretty fresh and yummy. Service is always excellent here and thanks for the little hand wipes pre-meal, I’ve been a dirty, dirty girl!

I’ve dined here once back in April and i would dine here again in a heartbeat. They’re located on Montague St., within walking distance of the promenade. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially when it comes to drink refills. Its small and cozy inside, which i love because intimacy is so necessary at times and it wasn’t crowded at all. I ordered the curry chicken, which was disappointing. The chicken was very thin, it tasted like tofu. and the curry wasn’t as flavored and spicy as i would’ve liked. So i switched plates with my friend. He ordered a fav of mine«Teriyaki Chicken» with white rice. I must say that i really enjoyed it. The chicken was thick and juicy, made with white meat and smothered in teriyaki sauce. The rice was just right! The entire meal was presented so well. It looked like A work of Art! They also serve good portions of food and wine. Loved it!

We were in Brooklyn Heights and had no idea where to have lunch. We ended up chancing upon Tenda Asian Bistro and made the best of it. They offer up less than inspiring pan-Asian specialities in an otherwise charming setting. I mean it really looked the part of a nice restaurant to have lunch with beautifully decorated walls and attentive service, but the dishes were only so-so. I went with the Malaysian shrimp curry noodle bowl and had tea to drink. The bowl was sizable enough and boasted a fragrant aroma. The broth was nice, a lovely amalgamation of coconut milk and red chili pepper flakes. The problem was with the add-ins. The shrimp were clearly overcooked and rubbery. Similarly, the noodles were pre-packaged and of low quality(think 10 cent ramen noodles). Overall, I was able to eat everything, but I kept thinking how much better the dish would be if they just cooked the shrimp appropriately and made their own noodles. Given the higher than normal price point, especially for Brooklyn, I would have to pass on this place. 2.5 stars
