The kind of place that flies in the face of those that say the best Mexican in the states comes from LA. Some of the best tacos I’ve had. The perfect little neighborhood taco joint. So glad I discovered.

It becomes our costco routine to visit here! The food is amazing!!! I got a shrimp fajita, my bf got a chicken and steak taco. Both are heavenly good! There salsas also amazing! The only down side is their horchata, too sweet and taste from a can or powder. Would definitely come back for their food!!!

Good Mexican fast food. The tortas are very hearty, and the tacos are very good too. They always put guacamole.

I believe that name of this place has changed, but the location and food is the same. Remarkable is the first word that comes to mind. Everything is prepared in such a careful manner. The blend of flavors in the Vegetarian Burrito is so delightful that it simply cannot be an accident. The wonderful food you will find here is the result of hard work(someone is always working in this store even when it is closed) and careful preparation. A must visit if you find yourself in Sunset Park.

Go here for the food. The tacos and quesadillas are amazing and cheap. The grande-tacos come with guacamole which is delicious. You can also get some Mexican sodas and other things. Some of the tacos here are nearly identical to some amazing tacos I had in a cantina on my last trip to Mexico. Do not go here for the atmosphere, as you won’t be impressed with the TV blaring Mexican TV channels, or the few small tables. That being said, it mostly just adds to the ambiance in my opinion, making this my favorite taco joint in the city.

I’ve been wanting to go visit sunset park since I moved to Brooklyn almost 2 years ago and this was my first stop. It was amazing. I shared 4 tacos with my boyfriend: carnitas, al pastor, lengua, and carne asada. All 4 were drool worthy and cheap. It’s a really small space, but we got one of the 5 tables. The guy across from us was eating what I assume to be caldo de camaron which I am definitely going to try next time. There was also another couple splitting tacos and they were also very profuse and verbal with their praise. We went a few blocks down to Tacos El bronco and had the same 4 tacos. It was not even close to El Maguey. I’m sure if I want eggs cooked 10 different ways I would go to Tacos el Bronco, but for actual tacos definitely stick with El Maguey.

This is a very small Mexican restaurant. They have table service, but with only a few tables. I had the beef, chicken, & pork taco. All were($ 1.50) each, which is the standard price in the area that I consider pretty cheap. I haven’t had a bad taco in the area, but the tacos here weren’t that good. The meats weren’t that flavorful. Even with the red and green sauce added the taco was still kind of bland.

I really like the tortas de milanesa de pollo from this place. They are really good, i like how well they cut the vegetables. I have ordered the tortas many times from here and they are always good. I have tried the tacos, but they just weren’t as memorable as the tortas. What I like so much about the torta is that it is at a great price and it has beans and mexican queso(cheese), which I have not seen from other restaurants that sell tortas. I give them a 5 because of their delicious tortas. They also deliver which is great because their restaurant is very small.

Coming from California it’s been really hard to find a good Mexican restaurant on the East Coast. I was pleasantly surprised to see such high reviews, so I thought I would give this place a try. There were only enough hairs to seat about 10 people, but luckily a couple was just leaving. I ordered the Carne asada burrito and it was delicious! The employees were super sweet and very efficient. I would totally come back here.

This is that grimy little taco shop where you know the prices are going to be good, but the food could fall anywhere in between fantastic and you-get-what-you-pay-for. I’ve come in twice, and once it was fantastic, and the other time I got what I paid for. I’m not sure what the difference was the second time around. The tables were still sticky, the telenovelas were still blaring, the tacos were still stuffed to bursting, and I was just as much of an ugly gringo as the first time I came in. Unfortunately, the al pastor wasn’t quite as juicy and flavorful, the tortillas were stale, and the lengua wasn’t nearly as tender as lengua should be. On the strength of my previous visit, I’d even ordered a burrito to go for my lady friend at home… and while it was still a massive amount of food for a very reasonable price, I feel as though I overpromised and underdelivered. And I hate that. Unless this joint can get it together on the consistency, El Bronco’s still got my business. And more importantly, my heart.

For authentic Mexican in NYC, this place is simply as good as it gets. Not a fancy place, nor particularly cheap one(except for the tacos, which are priced at around $ 2 as tacos should be), but incredibly tasty. Do yourself and pick up a trio of small tacos and a plate of chicken mole enchiladas. They’re as good as you’ll have in Mexico.

I know it’s a little quick, but I was in the area and decided to try the shrimp tacos, instead of the traditional salsa found in tacos, this shrimp taco had guacamole, cilantro and some parsley. The shrimp was deveined, and cut in half, I think it was slightly undercooked. The reason why I knew it was a tad undercooked is due to the fact that when I was a kid, I was so hungry and impatient that I grabbed a raw shrimp skewer and ate it without knowing you can’t eat raw shrimp.

Great tacos at a phenomenal price. I had the carne asada, carnitas, and lengua tacos. The carnitas and lengua were excellent and packed with flavor. Carne asada was a little underwhelming, but still good. Stop by if you’re craving tacos. PS. the seating is limited as it’s a small location.

My Sunset Park taco quest had come to a standstill when I discovered Tacos El Bronco. However, the line was a tad too long when I went last Monday; I walk by Taqueria El Maguey on my way to work everyday so I finally decided to give it a shot. El Maguey is three blocks down and I do realize I could have probably gotten my order at El Bronco in the time that it took me to walk over but I was hungry and unreasonable. I am so glad that I did though — I found my new favorite taco spot! This place looks like every other storefront in the area — bright(El Maguey is an eye-catching green), dinky and in need of a good hose down/makeover. It is super casual — paper menus(extensive), paper plates. Four small tables are somehow packed inside. I ordered the al pastor(pequena) and lengua(grande, includes guac). These are my favorite proteins in tacos and my means of comparing to other spots. My tacos were whipped up in about 5 minutes and cost $ 4.25. First bite — MINDBLOWN. These tacos pack even more protein than at El Bronco, and are so much more flavorful. The lengua was so juicy and perfectly seasoned. The pieces that kept falling out while I was eating it would have been enough protein for another taco! Oh, it was also weighed down by the most generous scoop of delicious creamy guac, mmm. The al pastor was also a winner. They use bigger chunks of pork here. It is one of the spicier al pastor tacos I’ve had but so good and balanced out with the generous and sweet pineapple. I loved them so much that I came back the next day. Tacos El Bronco, you’ve been ousted!

Delicious tacos, huaraches, and the kind of chicken soup that cures colds. Quick delivery too. The only thing is the guy who takes phone orders doesn’t speak loud or clear, even en espanol.

The cemitas and tortas are to die for. Tacos are delicious and the chicken quesadilla never lets me down. This is a gem of a hole in the wall mexican spot. I eat here too much for my own good.

Right off the rip, this place is looking like beaten up little joint from the outside and it smacks of Locals preferred. I ordered a few taco’s, reading the menu, some of my usual meat preferences were listed. Unfortunately they were out of the one’s I wanted: Tripe(Tripa) Alpastor, Cabeza, so after going 0 – 3 I went with a sure thing as I saw it IE: Carne Asada and Pollo Asada. Feeling as though the Safe Bet approach was a wise one, I hit up the Enchilada’s de Queso. An unusual looking dish in color and not what I had pictured as to flavor. Spice throughout, but daring and flavorful, the taco’s had a small yet chunky pineapple ingredient which caught me unprepared, it just did not do it for me at all in terms of bringing two great flavors together in a toasted flour encasement., . The two star rating is the result of a off friendly staff, what I felt was a un-kept dining area, not having 3 taco meat options in a row and over charging me for my total meal, by $ 4.00. I am reading the menu, adding it up and without complex mathematical theory, kinda knew enough to quickly say to the worker that there was an error. I have no doubt the place can wip it up in the kitchen and I will return, gonna just chalk it up to an off day at Taqueria El Maguey.
