I have no idea how it took me over 2 years to find this place. Went on a Saturday night and it was empty enough that we got 4 seats at the bar. Great draft list(they sell/fill growlers, too), big selection of bottles you can get to-go, and just a really cool place all around. I will definitely be back.

Beer Stop 123 —– I came to St Grambrinus during a long layover at JFK. I honestly wish the layover was longer! This place was awesome — it kind of has a wine bar feel to it, with a super awesome back patio area. First thing, the service was awesome. I had a small suitcase with me and the bartender immediately asked where I’m from, what kind of beer I like, etc. She provided several recommendations(both on draft and in bottle) for stuff I can’t find in San Diego. She really knew her stuff and the recommendations she provided were awesome. St Gambrinus only has 16 beers on tap, but the tap list is well thought out. They have some weird, obscure stuff on that you can’t find anywhere else. Can’t wait to come back.

Wish I had a place like this near me. Laid back relaxed atmosphere with a great choice of beers both on tap and bottle. Too bad I had to get over to the Barclay Center for the Islander game because we could have sat here all night. The Barclay Center is a 3 minute walk so great before an event. This would be the perfect place to hang during the day with a few friends. Bartender was excellent as well.

Good selection of beers. A little flat from the tap. Place is small but doesn’t seem to be busy. Overall decent place to go grab a beer.

Love this place. My boyfriend and I make weekly trips here to pick up beers, and sometimes we’ll stay in the store or in the garden out back. They have a wide selection of more obscure/hard-to-find bottled beers and roughly 13 drafts on tap, including lots and lots of IPAs to choose from(even though I personally don’t love IPAs). I discovered my new favorite beer, Sophie, here. They also do flights and snacks, but I haven’t tried any yet. Big plus: the bartenders are always very friendly!

Admittedly, I’ve known about St. Gambrinus for a few years(since it opened) and never stopped by despite living 5 minutes away. But we finally stopped in, and it was a fun experience. Bartender(owner maybe?) was a super cool guy. Loved his beer, but wasn’t a snob. Speaking of beer, their selection is top notch, both in bottles and on draft. And yes, they also do growlers! They have a cozy backyard. They also have food, but we didn’t order any. Will definitely be returning! Might just have to join their beer club…

Great beers, tasty snacks, knowledgable and super friendly staff, great location, inviting environment, and great beers again. What’s not to love? The crazy growler fill prices, that’s what, which is why I docked a star. Still, it’s a great place to stop in and a great addition to the neighborhood.

St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe is a rustic bar with a touch of modern chicness. They have 16 rotating taps of delicious craft beers & also several selections of bottled beers & ciders. If you like fruit ciders, try Kopparberg Pear. It’s crisp & refreshing & packs a strong taste of pear. There is also the SingleCut Kim Hibiscus Sour, which is a funky lager infused with hibiscus & black currants. For a pale ale, try the Other Half Styrian Farmhouse, which has lots of hops & Styrian Savinjski Goldings. On a nice day, instead of sitting inside, grab your drink & walk to the back of the shop & to enjoy your drink outdoors. There is a cool & relaxing shaded garden with several chairs & tables. FYI: bring bug repellent if you do decide to sit outside. It’s mosquito season. Before you commit to a tap, ask for a sample. If you end up loving more than one & want to continue exploring the selections, order the 4 oz. draught flights. You can choose 4 for $ 10, 5 for $ 12, or 6 for $ 14.

Certainly not the best beer store in the city, and certainly not the cheapest either. The staff I will say are very nice and courteous. They aren’t pricing beer here for the common man, they are pricing it for the Boerum Hill residents that I suppose help keep their doors open(which I completely understand from a business standpoint) They have an impressive selection of craft beers from around the U.S., lots of Belgian entries, some good German stuff too. The prices are steep though– I bought a Stillwater«cellar door» that was $ 2 more than at Whole Foods, that’s for a small bottle. That’s just too much. If they’d take the prices down to a realistic level is be a regular here, but I can get the same quality at Whole Foods, Bed-Stuy Beer works, Brooklyn Beer and Soda, and Bierkraft for a cheaper price.

I would like to grow up and have a place like this. This place is the neighborhood bar that everyone dreams of! No fuss, great service, always friendly faces, extensive beer list, and a backyard!!! Good to stop in for a drink with friends, great place to have a casual meeting with groups, and well one of those places that you wont feel embarrassed to hang out by yourself. Love.

It was Friday. I had dinner with a friend at Totto Ramen on 52nd Street(you know:(1) wait on line,(2) place order while on line,(3) food is served moments after you are seated,(4) try to have a conversation with your dining companion while servers are rushing back and forth and yelling in your ear,(5) «finished?»). Decided to take a little detour on my way home, and St. Gambrinus has been on my list for a while. I just wanted to check out the growler situation and pick up some beers to add to my stash at home. Inside St. Gambrinus, there were a handful of patrons at the bar and tables towards the front, and a modest-sized(but excellent) collection of 12 oz. to 750ml beers towards the back. I could«mix my own six.» I took my time, made my selections, and made my way to the bar to check out. I mentioned my affinity for moderate-abv stouts to the bartender as she is ringing up my purchases, and suddenly I am tasting a Mean Old Tom, and I am loving it, and I am sticking around. Just me, and my new favorite beer, and my thoughts about how this is the most perfect way to end my week. Eventually, I got to chatting with the bartender(Devin), and some of the other patrons, who were all friendly and cool people. And then I went home, just totally delighted. No, it’s not on the way, pretty much ever, but I don’t care. I will be back.

«Drinking beer with a saint is so heavenly» This shoppe/bar is a wonderful spot to grab a beer to stay or to take home. They have an amazing selection of different types of beer. I have not found an IPA that I did not like at this spot. I only have had positive experiences drinking here; mainly because the staff is so helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Oh, the shoppe has a nice patio in the back that is perfect during the nicer months.

Great beer bar and store. They have an excellent selection of craft beer. A little disproportionately IPA for my taste, but lots of other great options, too. I came during happy hour, which offers $ 1 off draft beer, but the real deal is the beer flight. There are a few different options for flights; I got the flight of 6, primarily because they were served in a cupcake tin.(It’s the little things!). My favorite beer was the scotch ale, which I ordered prior to knowing about the flight option. The beers come in several sizes: 12 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, and 64 oz.(64 oz!!!). A word to the wise: order the high alcohol content beers in the 12 oz size. Not that I’m doubting your drinking prowess, but the strong flavors demand slower drinking and slower drinking means the beer gets warmer before you can finish. In spite of the fact that the 16oz size was only a couple of bucks more, I’ll definitely opt for the smaller size next time. I only briefly looked at the beer selection in the back, but I’m thrilled that I don’t have to travel far to get a good bottle. They also have growlers and a beer club(discounts on bottles and growlers for a flat membership fee). The only downside is that there is no food besides bagged popcorn, cheese, and similar snacks. I probably would have stayed at the bar longer had I had something to eat.

This is the best beer shop I’ve been to in NYC and I’m very thankful live within walking distance. My experiences have all been positive. They have an ample selection of the finest beers and their tap selection is well manicured, fitting to the season, and changes regularly. They often have small-batch, hard to find kegs from less known but really good craft brewers. The food is also perfect beer food. The service is great. One of the bartenders, Devon, makes the experience that much better. It’s not just her warm smile, enchanting personality, or gaze stealing cleavage that makes her a great bartender — she also has an encyclopedic knowledge of beer which she is willing to lend to make great recommendations and expand your pallet for good beer. Needless to say, the customer service is peerless and I’ll keep going back here. Also, filling stations & packaged goods. Check it out.

Great little shop with an impressive beer selection. Friendly folks, fair prices, and in general a really great place for craft beer lovers to go. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth stopping by. No complaints, thus the short review.

I have a new favorite hangout spot near the Atlantic Center. ANDNO, It’s not Buffalo Wild Wings. A plague on that place! Besides it would be super weird for a review of that to be in here. I don’t know who Saint Gambrinus is. I’m sure I could google it and find out. I’d rather not though. I’d like to imagine he’s the angel of beer and happiness, because that’s what this place is to me. Beer and happiness. So don’t ruin it by telling me. Oh wait, it’s on their menu. Dammit. The beer selection, value and servings here are fantastic. You can get different sized pours, mix up what you want, and do what you want, all at a low low price! They have lot of limited edition beers here as well. And while I’ve only been here to consume drinks while I was here, they have an extensive selection of beer for people looking to buy on the go. Even for you growler heads. It’s great for going to before the Barclays. And if you bought/intend to buy tickets from stubhub, guess who is next door? Score! When it’s nice out, they got a little backyard area. If you want to switch it up, they have some nice wines. And if you’re feeling hungry, they got some snacks. This place is a gem! Make sure you come by and check it out.
