Salwen Lester P MD

Dr. Salwen is a great doctor. He has always been concerned about the whole patient. not just the narrow focus of his specialty and he communicates extremely well. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, he has closed his practice and moved down South.

I saw Dr. Salwen a few times recently for a GI problem. He was almost preternaturally attentive and thorough. I don’t remember when I’ve been to a specialist where I felt as if I might be his only patient.
Explains everything in language I can understand without patronizing. What was particularly remarkable was the time he spent on my medical and personal history – not just related to G.I. issues – to really get an idea of what’s going on.
I think he has a couple of staffers – I think I only dealt with Suzanne – really friendly and a cracker-​jack.
Note – he does his procedures (endoscopies, colonoscopies) not in his office but at L.I.C.H., which means to a certain extent you have to deal with the hospital bureaucracy. Otherwise Dr. Salwen made sure everything – including the procedure and followup – went smoothly.
Very highly recommended!
