I think this is my first Unilocal review. I have never experienced such specific, patient, efficient customer service before heading into RT Building. I was putting up a Ikea shelf in my bathroom. I needed all sorts of stuff from screws to screw drivers to hammers. The plastic anchors and screws I had weren’t going all the way in to the holes I had drilled. My place was a mess until I went to the store its a nice place nothing extravagant like the big places such Home Depot or Lowes. The owner was very nice and he helped me out a lot with the things I need and they were very affordable. Although I went in for small things I really liked their paint section so I bought some paint for my apartment. It reminds me of the old days when my parents used to take me to stores like these its not technology-oriented but they know what their doing. The store is open for a while even if you come when they are about to close they still let you shop around with out being rude to the customers to get out nor do they rush you which is often what I have seen in other stores. The staff really helps you out with the stuff needed. This store is fantastic for the handy tools you need in little problems you have at home and don’t want to call for help when you can do it yourself.

A pretty good ‘mom and pop’ kind of store. One of the only places I’ve found in the neighborhood that sells paint(adiós Benjamin Moore). The paint options are limited but I found what I needed. The man behind the counter was helpful and agreeable.

It is a very convenient store due to it being open all days of the week. It has all the hardware products needed to repair an apartment by your self. I am very inexperienced in this type of work but thankfully the owner was there at the store and helped out a lot. He told me what I exactly needed and what I needed to do with the products. They also have a paint machine, which is brilliant because it has a huge selection of colors. The best part is that they don’t overcharge on items the price range is affordable. They have the best customer service which I experienced first hand. The store had already closed when I arrived and I really needed some things from the store. Thankfully, when I asked the owner if I could buy the stuff I need he said«sure». Although the store had closed already for a good 20 mins the owner still let me get the things I needed. I first stumbled across this store when I moved into this neighborhood a few years ago and till this day this store is always on top of things. They have a lot of products most hardware stores don’t have. It’s a family business and they have pride in what they do. They are very nice to the customers and they respect you very much. From what I heard this business has been open for many years and they have loads of customers everyday. This store is great and I recommend it to everyone.

They’re open, at least. The first time I came in I needed a 9V battery for a very short-term project. I asked if they had 9V batteries and the guy threw a pack of two down on the counter for $ 5 or $ 6 or something. I said, «Hmm, is that all you have? I really only need a cheap one for quick.» The guy said, «That’s it.» I had asked because I could see a single no-name 9V battery in a package on the wall behind him. «What about that one?» I asked. «How much is that?» «Oh. This one? It’s 99 cents. I don’t think you want this one, though.» I had given him all the info I had; it worked just fine. What did he think, the battery’s haunted? Anyway, every time I come in here, the guys are always yelling at each other, and basically any question you ask them is going to be a complete shitshow. A while ago I bought a drillbit from them — I requested something specific, and the guy told me he had a cheaper bit in a different style that, for my needs, would be more than sufficient. Well, he was completely wrong and I fucked up my project because I was stupid for listening to him. But they’re not expensive, so they’ve got that going for them.

This place is THEWORST! Disorganized shop, rude customer service. I went here to have some keys copied and they did a terrible job — one of the duplicate keys I made didn’t work at all, and when I went back to return the key for a refund, they were very reluctant to give me my money back. I finally got a partial refund, but not without a fight. Totally ridiculous. Won’t be going here again!

A solid hardware store in the neighborhood. They’ve been undergoing renovations for a while so their stock moves around. Just ask, and the friendly staff will help you. They’re not the most knowledgeable in the world if you come in with a lot of specific DIY questions, but they know where they keep everything. Soon they’ll have their own paint supply station. They’ve got a ton of pipe in the back, cut keys, and basically do what your usual hardware stores should do. Prices are okay. RF Home Mark a block away is run by the same guys, and between the two stores I can almost always find what I need, saving me from going the distance to Pintchik, or to the lamentable Hellhole of the Bed-Stuy Home Depot, or to the pricey and frustrating Mayday Hardware on Washington.

Might be the single worst hardware store I have ever set foot in. Every question is met with puzzlement and the answer«no.» After looking around, I find roughly what I’m looking for, but when I ask for help to be sure, blank stares. Indifferent service combined with limited and completely disorganized stock(is this the screw that goes with this anchor? nobody knows) makes this the first place NOT to go when you need a plaster screw or paint brush.
