Great service. Such a necessity in the neighborhood.

In my newly adopted land, this is the closest «hardware store.» I know they can’t all be home depot, but I priced out a replacement door handle/​assembly, lock and shower head. Everything here was literally 100−125% more than amazon or Home Depot. I get it, it’s a mom-​n-​pop, but that big a price difference was hard to swallow, I’m all for supporting local businesses… but when it’s something my landlord should be paying for anyway, I find it hard to justify spending the extra $ 30… Just saying. And when I went in there, there were 5 guys working and zero customers, maybe shave down the workforce and lower the prices just a smidge???

I would give zero stars if I could. I asked for a dry wall anchor. He gave me the wrong size even though I said that it doesn’t look like the right fit. I asked additional questions and I found that the answers were vague and unhelpful.

So far, I am quite happy with this place. They copied my entire set of keys for $ 3 total, and have supplied what I needed, or recommended where to go if they didn’t have it.
I’ve sometimes found hardware store employees can be condescending, disrespectful, or treat me differently because I am a woman. The people at Garvey’s have been only polite, helpful, and informative. Great place!

The shop itself was a little disorganized but the people working there were very helpful and knew where everything was.
Very friendly guys and knew what I was asking for when I didn’t even know how to describe it myself (I wanted something to take paint off windows). Good store!

Painting and tweaking an apt in a 1900s limestone building; will definitely be in Garvey’s Hardware again soon.

good selection, helpful staff. I’m so glad to have this gem of a hardware store in Crown Heights. I can usually find what I need, and the prices are reasonable. the guys who work here have good advice and are extremely helpful and polite.
