There steak chimi is not the best. I didn’t enjoy it. There pastelitos (empandas) are delicious, I must say. As well as there lemonade and passion fruit juices.

Delicious foods but the hamburger should be bigger and also it’s needs more options for me and my family to choose from cause we order the same thing over and over again

They dont have great chimis. I also went back and tried their empanadas and quipes and they were too greasy and they tasted like they were sitting there for a while. Also the staff its not friendly at all!

If you need to grab a quick bite in the East New York area of Brooklyn, Rico Chimi is the spot especially late at night as they close late. Its just like the Rico Chimi in Ozone Park they both provide an unique Dominican style cheeseburger as well as several other new age Dominican dishes such as:
Yaroa: (its essentially a meat dish (choice of chicken, beef, or pork) with a layer of either Platano maduros or fries topped off with cheese and special sauce. Any option is amazing!
Picao: a mix of all the meats with onions and peppers surrounded by fried green plantains very good serves 2 – 3 people.
Pastelitos: Chicken and Cheese are amazing a must try, best all around within the area.
Can’t rememeber off top of my head the prices but they are very fair relatively cheap and affordable.

I honestly love Dominican food but this place doesn’t offer the welcoming hospitality that other restaurant provides. I had an incident were I ordered a chimi I looked at the cook and he just grabbed a pre made one that was sitting there for god knows how long I try to telling them I wanted a fresh one they just looked at me like I was crazy so I left…

i have been coming here for a long time i always get a chimi or the burrito which is very good honestly the food is good whoever cooks it which is not a dominican chef those a great job. the service is horrible the men and women there have no respect for people they just want to give u the food and only care about the money. i called today to get a delivery and the guy told me there is no delivery and hung up no apology nothing plus when they pick up the phone they don’t say the regular thank you for calling rico chimi like they pick up the phone as if they were at home. how the fuck am i supposed to know I’m callin the place if you don’t know how to properly answer the phone i go here cause the food is good but the service fucking sucks which i rather buy my food and get the proper service so fuck this place ill go somewhere else…

There’s not much for a vegetarian but I guess that’s because most Dominicans eat meat… Except for me of course.
I got the cheese empanada for $ 2 and a chinola juice. The empanada only had cheese on one side and was super oily. I squeezed it with a napkin to take it out of the bag I got it in and it was drenched in oil. I just dabbed it with napkins and then ate it. The juice was good but I like mine a little more diluted so I went home and added water.
They are open extremely late which is great for the party club goers and those looking for some comfort food.
The staff are just like merp, not much hospitality or kindness but I mean if you go in and get out there’s no issue.

This place should have better reviews. I been coming here for years and my hubby & I love the chimis, yaroa & cheese empanadas! Yumm! Sometimes customer service isn’t so nice but I cannot complain because we are all human and I been treated worst in other restaurants. I would love if they start making lunch specials like meat rice and beans and ofcourse mangu!! This place is awesome and it’s a small little fast food place that reminds me of my island RD. Empanadas aren’t seasoned enough, food wasn’t memorable AT ALL. The guy behind the counter didn’t smile even once. I give 2 stars for the punch. I wasted 30 bucks in this place. I won’t be back.

I like this place. Great menu options & variety. I always get a Steak Chimi. However, it’s different from Jackson Heights, Queens chimi’s. They serve it here on a roll.
Very popular spot in the neighborhood. Always a bit of a crowd most times I’ve been here. Which brings me to the cons: dirty tables & not much upkeep from the employees. Dirty floor w knives & napkins all over the place. BUT– I do blame the patrons for this. There is a visible trash area where you can throw your garbage away. No need to not clean up after yourself! Music playing overhead is quite loud. I think that helps bring the anger out in people when your order takes long to come out– which ALWAYS happens here! But if your patient, you will get some good grub here. Empanadas are great, and people order a few at a time. At $ 2 a pop, why not ask for five! Steak chimi $ 6. You can have a decent meal here for $ 10. I seem to keep coming back whenever I’m visiting family in the area. And they have an A rating on the window– so they must be doing something right!

Been here twice food was great they have another location further up atlantic over by rockaway blvd. BUT I wish they spoke better english though…

Great spot for Spanish comfort food. Patacon is tasty, empanadas have it going on. I passed this spot for years and finally gave it a try and was satisfied. The food is delicious, the staff is cool. Could be bigger & sitting could be in better shape. Overall satisfying experience.

I’m not sure where to begin with rating this place. The staff is so un-​welcoming I just don’t know who would hire them for a people business like this. I tried calling to place an order before arrival and all three times my phone call was ignored when I arrived and told the employee she seemed bothered and didn’t really care oh yea and answered «we been taking deliveries all night»!!! Bravo that’s a way to treat a customer!
The chimi we ordered was dry not enough sauce however the beef was cooked perfectly. I also ordered beef empanadas and when biting into them and I come to find out it had cheese yuck! I enjoy eating what I order! With no surprises
And last but not least the music in there was so loud even the employees were singing to the top of their lungs. I don’t know why I do it to myself never coming back here again!!!

Pero ven aca. Se llama Rico Chimi pero la carne sabia a carton. Porfa, cobra $ 8 en vez de $ 5 pero usa carne de alguna calidad. Hacen Mcdonalds carne parecer 5 estrellas prime meat.
Translation: the meat tastes like cardboard. If your gonna name yourself after a meal, better make that meal taste better than anything else in there. If you want a fast fried fix, the appetizers are good. Skip the Chimi. The juices were good.

No matter how crowded this place may be or how slow or border line annoying the staff can be, the food taste so DAMNN GOOD!!! I’m sure it’s not good for me but the Yaroa (cheeses fries with meat and left up and etc, etc) is such a bad comfort food. The chimi sauce is delicious.
I wish they would expand differently to allow for more seating room. The place does smell like deep fried oil. The chicken empanadas are scarce on the meat but when you do get to it… it’s delicious and moist.

This is a great late nite spot! Loud music, huge tv playing videos, its like an after hours… lol Its a cool spot, relatively new in the area. Not so big, has a couple of tables in the back, but has lots of counter seating. Parking gets a little crazy because its on atlantic ave and they seem to be really busy late nite so everyone is trying to grab the few parking’s in front.
Best ham and cheese empanadas, and the chicken and cheese is good too (those are my girls fave). They have sandwhiches, burgers, chimis, platters, salads and picao here. All at a reasonable price. I like that everything is «grilled» to order. Which means you have to wait, but not more than 10 minutes. They have this thing called «Patacones» its a sandwich with 2 giant tostones (fried plantains) holding it together, instead of bread, has fried cheese, and you can get chicken, pork, or steak. Never seen this before, cool idea for a sandwich (my girl tried it but it was to much fried plantain for her).
Place is open till 5:30AM on Friday and Saturday… crazy! and during the week 3. Its great to have another option besides that white castle and micky d’s. Sometimes I get extra empanadas for the next day!
Only disappointment with this spot is that during the day, during hours they are supposed to be open, many times they are not. Not sure if they changed there hours, but its happened a few times.

I come here just for the munchies

this place is an awsum spanish fast food joint! they grill it up rite before you! food is fresh, and well seasoned. they have two spots, both on atlantic ave, one near warwick street and the other near rockaway blvd. This spot, near warwick has loud spanish music play, a flat screen with videos playing and stools at the counter. helps to know spanish when ordering, friendly young dudes take your oder… but i think they get some english… lol
the menu: empanadas, sandwiches… cubano, chicken and steak, picao with steak, chicken or a mix (served with french fries or green plantains), platters of chicken or steak served with french fries or green plantains, all soughts of «fritura», fried meats such as chicken, beef, pork, langaniza and other meats, chimis, burritos, they even have burgers. My fave… Patacones…a sandwich not made with bread but held together with two giant tostones (fried plantains)! this comes in steak, chicken or pork… i get chicken, fried white cheese, lettus, tomatoes and chimi sauce… so good!!!
prices are awsum. empandas are 2 bucks, but are big and well worth it. chicken and cheese is the best! Sandwiches are $ 6, food platters $ 10-​$ 12, picao $ 9, Patacones $ 6
cons– says its open from 11am — 3am mon thru thurs and fri-​sat open till 5:30am…its closed sometimes when it should be open :(

Horrible service and horrible food. The empanadas were so old and oilie that I had to through them away, and chimi were horrible I didn’t eat that either the bread tasted old and the meat wasn’t well cook. They guy at the grill had an attitude with another customer and didn’t want to help him the customer was an African American male and the guy after having an attitude with him tells him oh «I don’t speak English. Horrible that’s all I have to say. I will never go to that place again.

This place is BANANAS! I would say 3.5 to be exact.

This is one of my go-​to spots late in the evening when I’m hungry, yet too lazy to pick up a pan, or too drunk to tell the difference between a fork and a spoon.
Bread is boring. How about pulled pork embraced with crisp lettuce, sweet tomatoes, oozing cheese, and savory chimi sauce between fried plantains?
Who says fried has to be completely unhealthy? Quipes. Delectably seasoned beef encompassed by wheat. These torpedo shaped croquettes will propel it’s way through any appetite.
Picao. Pulled pork, steak, or chicken. I go for the mix. Meat on meat on meat. Any true carnivore will appreciate this. They definitely aren’t stingy with their servings.
I don’t recommend the burgers however, not to say they aren’t great. I’m one for that gourmet display of thick medium rare monstrosity of meat. To each their own.
Also, it helps a bit to know some Español to ensure you’re ordering what you actually want! The colorful display of photos are quite accurate and helpful, so you can always point it out instead of sounding like a jackass.
