The mission of this café is inspiring, and I value giving back to the community. Sight unseen, it kinda reminded me of Busboys and Poets in DC, so I made a special trip to visit ReConnect Café over other coffee shops in my neighborhood that are much closer. I wanted to like this place, but once I got there, I quickly realized this place was just not good.
I ordered a juice, a coffee, and a breakfast burrito (which was the only food they were serving that day). It took 15 minutes to ring me up for the food and another 20 minutes to get it.
I was there on a weekday afternoon, and there weren’t any other customers in the café… just three bored teens working there who felt the need to drop the n*word every other minute and rap along to the loud music that was playing. As I overhead from their conversation, one of them got into trouble with the five-​oh, and they pulled out their iPhone to troubleshoot — «Siri, what’s ‘plead the fifth?» I hope it works out for them…

Be prepared to wait. I guess 10 to15 minutes means a half hour (and counting) to some people. Food is mediocre at best, but it’s the only show in town. Over priced, too.

I am beyond lucky that I live in the apartment building above this establishment because on days off when I’m not working at my job (a café) I’m over here getting my daily dose of caffeine & sweets. The service is fast & friendly & I can always find myself wanting to settle in and enjoy my purchase rather than just run back home. The boys are all so sweet & funny & the food is a killer. They’ve recently also added a vegan food item to the menu & can now pretty much officially claim to have something for everyone. With non dairy milks, juices, teas, food and pastries you are bound to find something to please that tummy of yours. Did I mention free WiFi? Or what about the fact you’d be helping a non profit organization help young men from Brooklyn transform into the neighborhood’s next generation of entrepreneurs, dreamers, and thinkers? Hey it’s up to you where you swing that dollar, but I’ll keep using mine this way.

What impressed me even more than the blueberry muffin I had (which I was told was heart healthy) was that within moments of walking in, the cashier had struck up a great convo with me. I felt listened to and appreciated. I guess the name isn’t just a pun on an Internet café, I felt pretty connected.

Great vibe in here — had an everything bagel with cream cheese and a coffee. I love the little things about the space — good music, good people working, cool chalk writings on the wall. Only slightly down side is that the coffee isn’t the best, but that’s ok! Will definitely be back.

Quaint little breakfast café with a close-​knit feel unless you’re John Smith who’s only «visiting». I say this because it seems they warm up to you if you’re a regular… otherwise, if you’re a first time customer don’t expect stellar service. I enjoyed my bagel with cream cheese, bed-​stuy cookie and cappuccino.

My favorite coffee shop in Bed Stuy — prices are super reasonable (especially for the fresh juice), the guys who work here are really great and super sweet. They also make great pastries (from their own bakery, Reconnect Bakery in Bushwick), and have delicious bagels every morning.

This place was ok. There were 5 men talking in a group, and when I came in they all shut up and stared at me, it was a little uncomfortable, but then they ignored me. The tea I got was pretty good, I can’t speak for anything else. I wanted to come here and hang out but the vibe was not very hang-​able.

My favorite breakfast spot in Bed-​Stuy! They serve different types of bagels (plain, onion, everything) with cream cheese, peanut butter or regular butter, 1.5 $ each. Coffee is great so are the 5 $ hand made juices! Service is AMAZING. I love Reconnect.

Good place to start the day. A lot of people have to go to work, some don’t. If you’re not in a hurry, stop by and rest a moment to have a hot cup of coffee and gather yourself for the day.

Place doesn’t look like much, the menu is slightly limited, but I’ll be damned if these guys dont serve up some fine coffee. They make a really good espresso and they dont add too much milk to the cappuccino so it almost tastes like a cortado. Prices are very reasonable for NY

Such a cute little coffee spot! Cheap coffee, cheap food, and a lovely atmosphere. The only reason I’m giving this place 4, instead of 5 stars, is the lack of seating — which is a bit of a deal breaker for me since I love doing work at cafés. There’s only one real table (which seats max 3 people) and everything else is bench-​like seating. It’s a nice place, just not the type of place you would go to get some serious work done.
But hey, if you don’t mind sitting table-​less, or taking your coffee to go, I would definitely recommend Reconnect Café!
