Cool place. Great pub food… I loved the mussels in creamy curry sauce & the deviled eggs with fried oysters

Brunch here is phenomenal. The pancakes and huge, fluffy, buttermilk clouds. The eggs Benedict is perfectly poached and the hollandaise is exceptional. The only drawback was my Bloody Mary was oddly tart, while my boyfriend’s was fine. So why am i leaving four stars instead of five? Because they play«Run, run Rudolph» on repeat. Sometimes different versions. I heard it upwards of fifteen times during our meal. Why. Why would you do this.

Good Bloody Mary but the service was lacking. The place had plenty of empty tables but took half an hour to flag down the bartender. They also forgot to put in one of our orders. We just said screw it and went somewhere else.

This is my favorite happy hour spot in Brooklyn! 3−7pm! $ 2 Canned beer(and they have some decent beers like Pork Slap and Tecate) $ 1.5 Oysters(pretty good oysters for the price) $ 3 house roasted almonds(super good with the beer) $ 5 Draft select draft beers. I’ve almost always sat at the bar and have always received great service. However during my last trip to Putnam’s we sat at a table and our server was not that great: she kept forgetting to bring things and would disappear for long periods of time. This is the only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars. I also really like this place’s décor and their music selection. They usually play a good mix of rock songs from all ages as well as some alternative music. This place has a great«Brooklyn vibe»! It’s a great place to bring a date, to just chill with your friends, or to grab some beers after work. I have also never come here for lunch or to eat dinner, so my review is just on the Happy Hour. Fun fact: last time I was eating here Justin Long came in with friends and sat at the table next to us. He was with another famous actress who’s name I cannot recall.

This place is a 10-min walk from my apartment so my boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner. We started with the deviled eggs and mac & cheese, the eggs were good but the mac & cheese was especially delicious. For mains he got the burger and I got the farro wheat salad, both tasty but nothing special. My favorite things were the elevated gastropub style and the friendly vibe — will probably be back!

I never had pot pie and it was delicious! The twist on an apple pie in a sundae was cute, if the pie inside was warmer it would’ve been amazing! Sexy lower level when open and warm atmosphere upstairs… I’ve already gone back several times!

Pretty good :) went for lunch with some friends and got the lunch special, ½ panini and soup, it was presented nicely on a wooden board and came with some greens. The panini was pretty great, you could taste everything in it and it wasn’t soggy. Im not a big fan of chili but this one had lime and avocado which was pretty good. Also a great portion for what you pay

Good food Good drinks But the best part about this place was the environment. The vibe of this place was damn near perfect for me and my lady friend. It’s a little pricey but I didn’t care because the service was great and the food tasted up to par to its menu descriptions.

Dined here again recently over the summer with my Mom and daughter and had a better experience food wise. we walked in and requested outdoor seating and there was no wait. The waitress wasn’t as friendly as the last one, but she was attentive. The food was way above average. We ordered Putnam Burgers and buffalo wings. The Burgers were well done like we ordered, well seasoned, HUGE and yummy… the wings were FIRE. The waitress warned us about the dangerous wings before we ordered lol. Everyone’s mouth was on fire except mine. I embrace the burn! Overall it was a good experience.

Pros: I really love the atmosphere here. It’s a nicer bar next to Pratt and would be a fabulous place to take a date. It’s quite romantic – dark with candles and very breezy during the summer. My beer was $ 7 and my friend’s was $ 10 for a beer/root beer float. Compared to Manhattan, these prices are pretty cheap, but this is a perfect price range for college students. Cons: I asked the bartender for some suggestions and he had trouble recommending me some selections, which shows that he didn’t really know the menu that well. When I was closing my tab, he automatically swiped my card for both of our drinks without asking how we wanted to pay(we were going to go dutch). I just felt like this bartender showed his naivety and deterred from my experience.

Putnam’s Pub & Cooker is a comfortable hang out with good food & friendly service. I love mac n’ cheese so I couldn’t pass on getting it as an appetizer. The blend of gruyère cheese & truffle oil made the dish creamy & savory. As an entrée, I ordered the NY strip steak, which included mashed potatoes, shallots, & broccoli rabe. The steak was well cooked & the mashed potatoes were the best. They were mashed well & seasoned with the right amount of butter & salt. I did not expect the steak to be as big as it was so if this special is still available, go hungry or share it. I sampled the pan seared scottish salmon, which was served with brussel sprouts, cauliflower purée, & cipollini onions. The fish was lightly seasoned & cooked well & the cipollini onions added great flavor to the dish. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Putnam & Pub & I will come back to explore their draft & cocktail menu.

I must start with saying CHICKENPOTPIE!!! You must must must try the chicken pot pie from Putnam’s Pub and Cooker. The crust was incredibly flaky and buttery and the filling… oh my goodness! I could have kept eating that filling for the rest of my life and I would have been happy… well maybe not for the rest of my life but you get the point. I also tried the shepherd’s pie, which was good and the fish tacos, which I also enjoyed. My drink was a hibiscus margarita with the glass rimmed with salty agave goodness. The atmosphere in Putnam’s is amazing as well. There is regular seating as well as booth seating. There was a trivia game going on when I was there, which was actually extremely challenging. They try to get as many people involved as possible and there was a cash prize for the winner. I would definitely visit this spot again!

This place is a great neighborhood spot! I love the downstairs area — super intimate and kind of looks like a cave. You don’t get cell reception down there. I’ve come here a few times to watch sports — basketball, hockey to name a few. I believe they have 3 or 4 TVs — just above the bar. The only reason I’m lacking in a star is because we were at a friend’s birthday in the downstairs area, and my friend and I asked the bartender(there’s a tiny bar downstairs) if we could have two beers. First of all, the bartender proceeded to take at LEAST5 other peoples’ orders before giving us ours. Secondly, when we asked for our bill, we waited there for 10 minutes, and he never gave it to us. So, we left. Overall, a nice place, definitely worth a visit.

Good gastropub in Clinton Hill. I’ve stuck pretty much with their burger, and it works! At $ 14(plus $ 1 for cheese), it’s a pretty good deal. The patty is juicy and full of taste, the bun has enough taste to complement the burger, but not so much that it overshadows it. And the fries are great. The portion is a bit smaller than other places, but really, it is plenty of food. Their beer selection is good, with both local microbrews and out-of-state stuff. Service is fast and friendly, the food comes out quickly and you can finish your meal and be on your way pretty quickly if you want, or linger over your food, if that’s your preference.

I’ve been here more than a few times but only for brunch, so my review is limited to that. Putnam’s brunch is one of the best in Brooklyn. I always order country breakfast, which they have changed up a few times but none the less its amazing. It no longer comes with grits(which let me say are the best I’ve ever had, even better than my grannies) but that’s ok because you can always get a side order. The county breakfast now includes two spicy sausages which are homemade(doesn’t get any better), 2 eggs any style, 2 slices of country bacon, toast, grilled tomato and a side of mushrooms. I guarantee you EVERYTHING is delicious. They also have amazing biscuits if that’s your thing. They are served with butter and homemade jam. Overall I love it. Never seems overly crowded and wait staff has always been kind and attentive. Its definitely a win win so of course I will be back.

Happy Hour Central! Can beer — $ 2 bucks.(Wow) Bottle beer — $ 3 bucks.(Good deal) Draft beer — $ 4(Ehh, that’s not that special) Wine — $ 5(Oh hell yes!) They have their signature Salt and Pepper(push it real good) Shrimp on the happy hour menu for $ 9. As well as some delicious deviled eggs for $ 5. I have not yet tried their cheeseburger spring rolls. It sounds like it could be really amazing, or really bad. Regardless, I am intrigued and intend on getting them next time. Putnam’s appears to have the best deals for happy hour in a growing hot bed of awesome bars that are on Myrtle Avenue. If you’re in the area early(where my teachers at?) this seems like a spot to hit up before venturing elsewhere.

Highly Recommend! It is a little pricey but not bad and totally worth it. I came here for Saturday brunch with my family and according to them [I am not a fan] the bloody marys are among the best they’ve had. They frequent the place, it was my first time. I ordered the french toast and it was the best I have ever had! I also had bacon [they have no turkey bacon] and it was not bad either. Everyone else liked it, but since I don’t eat bacon it wasn’t anything to me. The bacon was about 5 bucks and the french toast with bananas and strawberries was approximately 13. Their orange juice is good, it was 6 dollars but it is rather small. Just a skinny class [Kitchenette gives you a mason jar for 4.75] so in comparison I wouldn’t recommend it. The coffee is phenomenal and the brown sugar cubes are so convenient. My waiter was amazing and attentive. Good Food. Good Drinks. Good People. What can be better?

Yeah. that’s right. I gave this place the full 5 stars! My personal experience here was phenomenal. I came her with my boss lady and co worker for a team appreciation dinner. And oh boy did I feel appreciated and stuffed after this dinner. Holy Smokes! We started with being seated outside in the front patio. We looked over the cocktail menu and the apps. Priorities! So many of the cocktails looked amazing. My boss and I both spotted the«Devils on Horseback» deviled eggs with fried oysters! Dang! As if the deviled egg wasn’t delicious enough. And I love the name. I have a weakness for the dark side. I ordered the«Ruby Negroni». I love gin! And Campari! And it was topped off wiht a ruby campari sorbet! Yes, yes and yes! It packed a punch, strong and delicious. My co worker has a weakness for spicy mayo. She ordered the«Salt & Pepper Shrimp» and she was like a kid in the candy store when she saw that spicy mayo. We licked our fingers clean and were ready for round two cocktails! I I ordered a blackberry bourbon goodness. The waitress even ran accross the street to get more blackberries since, they ran out. Talk about service. For my entrée, I ordered the dish that had four of my fave food items. Drum roll, please… I had to go for the«Pan Seared Scottish Salmon» with cauliflower purée, cipollini onions and brussel sprouts. Oh yes! It’s like this menu was built just for me. I was stuffed. I had to stop myself from finishing. I needed to save room for dessert! 3rd cocktail took the cake for being my favorite. The«Stone Rose» is a ginger and peach infused vodka with lillet, basil and a green tea syrup. It was perfection. I’m drooling just as I reminisce. It was like sangria taken up a couple notches. These cocktails just got progressively better and better. I know! We should be full butttt we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and the bread pudding. My favorite was the chocolate cake and there was a lot of self control involved. It was tough not to throw it down the hatch. But I restrained myself. Yet my co worker fell in love with that cake and almost ate it all herself. Needless to say, I recommend this place. It’s perfect for ladies night or date night!

Quite convinced by this place. Nice beer selection, nice atmosphere. Their selection of italian meat and cheese is correct. As european, I found the service in US always too present and interruptive. It was less the case here, that probably means that the service is bad for an american… Not really tried to eat here, and I think I’d prefer to come back just for a beer and a meat plate at the bar, to enjoy the mood and the place.
