Service is awesome, I just went in for a Iced Vanilla Latte, since starbucks is far, I like it here. Latte was great. They also offer other baked goods, sandwiches, pannis, etc… and WiFi is available as well if you want to sit down and enjoy your morning Coffee :)

My food and drink(iced chai with almond milk and a grilled cheese) was mediocre at best. Actually the chai was kind of gross and I didn’t like it at all, but I drank it anyway. The grilled cheese was about as big as my hand(I have really small hands by the way), and the cheese wasn’t melted all the way. Plus, it was so greasy that it practically stuck to the plate because of the grease. Both items together were $ 8, but in all honesty it should have been $ 5 at most… esPECIALLY the grilled cheese which was $ 4.95(and again… SOTINY). The good? The two people working there(a gentleman with long-ish hair and a girl wearing a backwards baseball hat and dark hair) were some of the nicest people I’ve met in a coffee shop. Talkative and informative, they answered all of the questions I had, it being my first time there. The décor was also pretty cute, and the atmosphere was nice. Just… not the drink and food… but maybe I’m just being super harsh.

I’ve avoided this café for years because of the goofy yet perfect name, but I have to say I was pleasently pleased with this place. It was mid-morning when I attended so it wasn’t crazy packed or empty, but just right. I’m not a big coffee drinker but definitely needed some that day and found their house mix(is that what it’s called?) delightful. I also needed a quick inexpensive bite and the fruit blondie they had on display was even better than I expected it too be and also wasn’t über-sweet. The fellow customers weren’t too bad and as that day was humid most sat outside. I’m glad I didn’t however as the obilgatory hipster secured his dog on one of the best outdoor spots(there are just two) right after I ordered. Whatever. They lose a point for the first person I ordered from, who was a bit snotty to me, but they gained back my business after the chatty other one gave an accurately glowing reccomendation on that blondie. The comfort of the seating area, while not too big, was also a plus for me. I’ll be back.

Nice patio and cute location but the coffee is generally flavorless. Some of their pastries are good though. Great for a grab and go while on the run, but it’s too busy afternoons to get a chair and sit there.

This place looks so charming and inviting that I didn’t even mind that I had to wait for 15 minutes in a line of only two people in front of me, because the person working there was so slow. What I did mind was that when it was finally my turn, after waiting those 15 minutes, I asked for our coffees in real mugs because we were sitting there and she made the first one in a paper cup. When I reminded her I asked for a mug she transferred the coffee from the paper cup to a mug, and proceeded to make the second coffee in paper as well. When I reminded her again that I wanted a mug she said I was«being really impatient and negative». Thanks for the personal analysis, flaky little immature barista — I’ll take my coffee somewhere else. Note to owner: a business such as yours depends heavily on customer service and returning customers so chose your staff wisely.

No. Just no. Came in to order an iced latte and a few bagels. I asked for my three bagels to be scooped out and the snotty little hipster yelled from behind the cashier«that’ll cost 50 cents per bagel… Extra labor» Um… She was not kidding but I gave her a laugh as to say«idiot»… The cashier didn’t charge me the extra 1.50 for the scooping out but it didn’t matter… The tuna salad was definitely old. And my boyfriend had an egg salad and he said it was disgusting as well. We will never ever ever be back. After this experience I will always always choose Bergen Bagels. Not sure why I even tried with this place. The«50 cents for scooping out» should’ve sent me packing in the first place. JUSTDONT!!!

Stoner vibe, and not in a good way either. Slow, low-quality service. Not too friendly. But the coffee is outstanding. Order it to go.

Standard coffee options(fair trade etc for all the locals who care) — which has never tasted that great to me, limited baked goods, limited seating, decent service. Noticed recently that they’ve begun serving Dough donuts, stumptown cold brews, Bagel Hole bagels and Hungry Ghost pastries. That’s been awesome. But otherwise, nothing to write home about. Prospect Perk is a solid place to pick up a coffee for the road; not really a place to sit and enjoy a coffee.

I am pretty discerning with my coffee and Prospect Perk serves the best café latte that I have had in New York. The only other venues that come close are 9th St Espresso and Little Collins but I think Prospect Perk is consistently better.

I actually said«meh» when I was thinking about this place. Service was bizarre, but hey, I’m not a Brooklynite, so maybe taunting your customers is par for the course around there? The scone I got was just ok. Maybe it was gluten-free or vegan or some new wave-y diet trend I haven’t heard of, but it didn’t taste that great. Also, the Unilocal page says they don’t accept credit cards, but they do for bills $ 5 or more.

Small but high-quality bagel, excellent olive pimento cream cheese. No wait on a rainy weekday at rush hour. More expensive than Pulp & Bean, but not outrageous at $ 3.

I like the coffee here, especially the Americano. I may have had a pastry here once, but I don’t remember. I’ve only been here twice, but I would come here more often if I lived in the area.

Eeeh. I’m sitting here in Prospect Perk and was inspired to write my review now. The spot is clean, and small, yet I was able to snab one of the 4 tables. I ordered a coffee with soymilk, which was yummy and piping hot. My cranberry scone was dry and just not… yummy. Maybe because is 5pm? No restrooms. no outlets. What the Hey?! Friendly enough guy behind the counter, when he’s not texting. Jazzy music. Definitely a spot to order and go.

Not a lot of tables to sit at, definitely a place to get coffee to go. Decent iced coffee and iced lattes here. Good assortment of pastries. Love the colorful and eccentric décor. Prices are on the lower side compared to other places around. Also close to the subway so definitely accessible on the way to work.

Prospect Perk is a good, tinier alternative to the Tea Lounge. Unlike the sprawling Tea Lounge, Perk is a TINY shop with just a few tables inside and some benches outside. It’s so small that the sunlight coming in the front windows lights up the entire space. They don’t even have a bathroom! They offer organic coffee and teas, fruit smoothies, plus pastries and café bites. The staff is chill and friendly. Prices are average for the area. I like the funky artwork on the walls. The iced coffee was a bit watery, but hey, it’s an iced coffee. It’s been a long time since I had their hot coffee, but I remember it being strong. Sad part: Cash only! Also, I don’t appreciate the name.(so no one told you life was gonna be this way, da da da da…)

Yes, they have excellent coffee and tea, which, really, is what a coffee shop, especially a small one like this, should focus on. However, I’d feel like a failure if I didn’t mention the ROCKIN’ grilled cheese I had here. Melty cheese. Buttery bread. Amazing. I didn’t want it to end. I’m also a big fan of the smoothies. And I have to admit I’m not much of a tea drinker, but the amount of teas they have is pretty impressive.

Had lunch here today! Service was rather speedy. The place was clean. Although a little claustrophobic in there. SMALL! Also a bit pricey. 2 Paninis and 2 iced teas…$ 21! Seriously? A bit much for even Park Slope Brooklyn. Easy location and nice staff. Just small and pricey. By the way, my Panini was«ok». The bread was alot«crunchier» than I expected it to be, but made nicely and to my specifications. Decided against a scrumptious baked good after they damn near cleaned out my bank account for lunch… kidding…but still… pricey.

I found myself walking past The Prospect Perk Café a couple weekends ago and decided to grab a bite to eat… Star #1 goes for the décor. The inside of the little café is adorable. 4 tables with a few chairs at each, colorful walls with chalk board menus and a nice sized counter to order at. Star #2 goes to the staff… both gents working when I arrived were super friendly. Star #3 is for the tea selection… which is huge! So many choices for whichever flavor you’re looking for. I had a tea called«Eve’s Temptation»… flavors of apple, mango and something else delicious. Awesome cup of tea. Stars #4&5 are absent because of the food. While the panini list looks pretty good… I wasn’t too impressed with what I was given. I ordered the #2– Monte Cristo. What I got was too much bread. They put only one slice of ham/turkey/cheese inside the sandwich and grilled it up. The sandwich could have really used another couple slices. especially for the $ it cost. Overall I just wasn’t impressed by the quality I got and the price is cost. If you find yourself in the neighborhood and craving a cup of tea– definitely stop by the Perk. For food– keep walking.

This spot used to be a real estate office. When they closed I could not imagine that this gem of a café would emerge. They have great coffee. They feature interesting fresh brewed blends daily. I can not say enough about their selection of muffins, cookies and scones. My favorite are the scones. At times I am tempted buy something chocolatety. Go for the brownies. As for their prepared foods, the quiche is quite tasty. I had an egg salad sandwich once. I plopped down and devoured it right there in front of the store. Not very lady like but damn that sandwich was good! The menu changes daily so visit often. Downside. Table hogs who insist on reading their newspaper for hours on end and those laptop freaks who come to look important. Isn’t that what Starbucks is for?
