I love this neighborhood gem with the nicest staff. I too can’t walk by without my dog dragging me in for an always warm greeting and treats!

Not the best pet supply business in the neighborhood. It’s good when you’re in a pinch and need to grab something quick, but otherwise I say go somewhere else.
Like other reviewers have mentioned I have also bought expired or damaged goods on a few occasions. I once bought a can of Merrick cat food that was punctured and when I went to open it the contents were rancid. Think cat food has an unappealing perfume? Well, spoiled cat food makes you want to vomit.
A word of warning, if you do shop here check the expiration date before you make a purchase. I don’t think they have very high turnover which may explain the old stock and lack of variety.

Pets on the Run packs a lot of pet supplies into a fairly small space. I’m not really familiar with the selection of goods for dogs, but they carry a wide variety of cat food brands. Unfortunately, they don’t have a big selection of flavors in the brands I usually buy for my cats, so I generally only stop in to pick up a few cans when I can’t make it to my regular pet store.

Absolutely love this place! They have really fantastic options for dogs and puppies — more so than I have seen in Williamsburg, Fort Greene, and Bushwick. Definitely one of the best pet stores around — great customer service and recommendations. Very friendly staff. I now travel here even though there are 2 pet stores closer to my home/​work — because this store is awesome!

Great little pet store run by caring and wonderful people. They always have a foster cat or kitten there waiting for adoption as well. They also deliver.

Pets on the Run, while not the fanciest, cheapest, or most nationwide pet store in Greenpoint, is a neighborhood gem. Every time I’m in there, at least one local stops by to chat with the owner (Zohar?), who is almost apologetically nice. I myself will wander in for the sole purpose of playing with their irrepressibly cute gray kitten. (To whoever clipped his whiskers off last month: if I find you, I will beat you senseless with a rawhide bone.)
Anyway! For those of us who try to win our cats’ affection with human-​grade, melamine-​free foodstuffs, Pets on the Run is packed with premium bribe material; Evo, Wellness, Innova, and Before Grain are always in stock. If you strive to improve their litterbox experience, you’ll also find a _​fantastic_​assortment of non-​clay litters; I discovered a green tea-​based litter here that I never want to be without. Most of the stuff that isn’t food, litter, or treats is high up on a shelf or behind the register, so if you don’t see it, just ask; as someone noted below, if they don’t have it they will happily order it for you.

This place has what I need for my pets, but is totally overpriced. You pay on average about $ 3 less for various items (cat litter, toys, etc) when you trek over to Dupont Street to Animal Planet… who, by the way, also delivers and has kitties in store.

the name implies this is a place for busy pets. and i’ve never met a busy pet. so it’s clearly meant to cater to busy pet owners. but Pet Owners On The Run is rather clunky. the end.

I used to get my dog’s food here, I don’t anymore. I got a $ 72 bag of food with a hole in the bottom. Also, I’ve seen the same 33lb bag of food in that store for over a year now — yes, dog food does expire. Especially when we are talking about ultra premium kibble. Also, I requested 2 weeks in advance they order the food my dog needs, and they forgot. I went down the street and had them order it, it was here in 2 days, and $ 7 cheaper. Too bad.

This is the best pet store i have ever been to. It isn’t the nicest or the most organized but it does have exactly what i need for the price that i want. I recently decided to change pet foods because i wasn’t happy with the one i was using and i have to say they have the best prices for wellness Cat food that i have seen and considering that this is a very rare brand of cat food to find in stores to say the least, i was overjoyed. They also carry the Wellness cat treats and dry food which is even harder to find and to top it all off they are one block from my apartment. I freaken love this place and so do my two adorable kitties who will have the best food from now on :)

A great pet store, big selection and helpful staff. They’ve offered to special order items they didn’t have, and everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable.
