Self serve desserts in a really cute café. That’s all right with me.

It was a bit of a shock to watch a Korean bakery plant a branch in the very heart of Brooklyn Heights, but seeing as how I walked in on a gaggle of women exuberantly oohing and ahhing over how«everything is SO cute and pretty!» I would say they’re doing all right for themselves here. Anyone familiar with Paris Baguettes will know what to expect. Photogenic desserts, lightly sweetened pastries, and lush berry– and fruit-topped tarts. The cakes here are expensive(at least, for me. If all cakes cost near $ 30, I’d ban my own birthday celebrations) but achingly detailed and beautiful. I bought the Cappuccino Cake a few weeks ago for my mother-in-law’s birthday — a coffee sponge cake with chocolate garnishes cut and shaped to look just like a mega coffee cup and with light buttercream and cocoa swirls to mimic latte foam. Wile it hurt just a little to fork over $ 28 for a small cake that says it serves 6, the gasps of delight at its final reveal and instant photo-oping around the table made me realize it was money well spent. I might be hanged for saying this but I think the coffees here rival the Starbucks just down the street, both in quality and price. I’m a green cup gal at heart, but the iced coffees and lattes are both deep and rich, lifting the morning sleepy eye after just a few sips. The fact that Paris Baguette has their own simple syrup in a pourable bottle at the counter is incredibly convenient(how many times have I had to flag down a Starbucks barista to tell her she forgot my classic syrup?) and for strict vegetarians, vegans, and the lactose-intolerant, they have non-dairy milks available at a light upcharge of 75 cents. All that, and my large latte this morning still cost less than a latte at Starbucks, with an adorable coffee cup no less. There is ample seating on the ground level for folks to do their usual coffeehouse lingering but even more on the second floor for busier hours. Love the look and feel of this bakery and will spend a few months subsisting on ramen noodles to save up for another beautiful PB birthday cake.

I love this Place!!! the brunch french toast is my favorite… I’ve tried most of the pastries. Very clean atmosphere. The staff is polite and very friendly… always feel welcome. Not a coffee drinker but the juices are good. There’s so much you can try as far as the pastries.

I love this spot. Asian Parisian pastries, desserts, and drinks. I literally have more than 50 checkins. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I recommend the Hot Horchata during the winter and the Horchata Frappé during the summer

This place didn’t impress me much. Yes, most of their deserts look delicious. But 90% of the cakes have some kind of liquor in them so they weren’t for me. So I ordered something that didn’t have Rum but wasn’t just a croissant. It took me a lot of hunting but I found the Tiramisu Cream Puff. They had a few other options but I wasn’t in the mood for them. The puff was good. But it was just that. a cream puff. I would have much rather had chocolate cake. But the Rum was the problem. Anyways the staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean. The cappuccino after I stirred it and the foam went down wasn’t a full cup. And that really annoys me when you order a cappuccino and the foam goes down and there goes your coffee.

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff! With so many selections, how could one go wrong? There are good stuff and okay stuff at this café and here is my take on it. Some of our favorites here were premium curry croquette, the sandwich(must toast), I personally love croissants and the waffle and ice cream is really good too. I also like to lighting and atmosphere, pretty enjoyable. Some of the items are ‘okay’ because there is nothing really special that pops in your mind when you take a bite. The green tea shaved ice or some of the sweet drinks were too sweet for my tastes. The roll cakes and Castella cakes were both kind of tough. Strange thing is every time I go inside, I am mesmerized by the colorful displays and I am forced to buy some pastries. That being said, it’s good place to enjoy some carbs with friends.

I really love Paris Baguette and I am glad that I am seeing more and more shops opening up around the city. They definitely have an overseas feel with tons of unique pastry options. During my last visit they were kind enough to allow me to purchase a delicious blueberry cake along with a few of their birthday props like candles, hats and a tiaras and throw a quick, impromptu birthday party upstairs in their second floor seating area!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and I must say I was impressed. I ordered the spinach omelette and an espresso. The omelette was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned. The espresso was nice and strong. The staff was friendly and professional. It was kinda pricy but it’s expected around these parts. I would definitely return for brunch. Heck, I would return for lunch too.

I frequent this location, as well as the one on Amsterdam Ave. I am a fan of the pre-packed salads and the iced coffee. As probably the one person in the world that hates Starbucks coffee, I’m always happy when there’s a PB nearby instead. PB coffee is still mass market coffee, but it is smoother and less bitter than Starbucks, while still being strong. As for the dazzling display of pastries at these locations. Hmmm. I sampled a cronut-type of thing with peach crème pat. It was pretty alright, but I didn’t want something so heavy. I purchased a walnut bread ‘twist’, which had this gross filling that was similar to ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’, but sweet. That immediately got tossed in the trash after one bite. But I still am a fan of the coffee and the salads.

Walking around Brooklyn, I stumbled on this place. Was in need of some caffeine and a clean, cool place to sit down. Their pastries are in display cases for you to grab for yourself, with tongs, of course. I opted for the Tuscan Brioche. Not bad, probably would’ve been better toasted, which you can ask them to do for you when you head to the cashier. You would think that they would ask you when you are paying. So if you forget, then too bad for you. Green tea latte was just like every other green tea latte I’ve tasted. Nothing stood out. I wouldn’t argue that they are overpriced, seems fairly average, if I am comparing to similar cafes back home in Hawaii. This particular establishment that I went to wasn’t the cleanest. The trash can was full. The tables were kind of dirty and not wiped down. Some of the staff could afford to be a little friendlier, warmer, and a little more welcoming. Barely cracked a smile. Enjoy.

I love Japanese bakeries. I love it even more when there’s one within walking distance from my apartment! I’ve been more times than I care to admit and here are a few of my favorites: — Green tea cake with cream: Delicate, fluffy, creamy heaven. — Castela cake: Oh my. So light and sweet. — Banana custard: Sort of like a Tokyo Banana(sort of). Excellent custard. — Canele: Perfectly burnt on top and gooey in the middle. My other half always gets the chocolate cake and it’s his go-to. I, on the other hand, pick new items to try whenever we stop by. Their service is excellent and I haven’t had a bad dessert(yet). Big fan.

Only 1 vegetarian options for a sandwich… This saddens me but the Multigrain, mozzarella, spinach & pine nut is soo good so it makes up for not having another option . $ 6.50 plus tax for 4 small triangle sandwich cuts which equal 1 whole sliced bread sandwich plus water and you’re at a $ 10 lunch without chips/pastry… Steep for an everyday lunch

I come here for the banana bun and whole red bean bun. They taste really delicious and are reasonably priced. Maybe one of these days I will site and enjoy the atmosphere along with the service.

YESSS now open in Brooklyn! Such awesome cakessssss! My go to for some excellent birthday cakes. I have had the blueberry chiffon and the chocolate strawberry cakes both of which are very very light, fluffy, and not too sweet. I would recommend the chocolate strawberry over the blueberry … I think… Or I might just be elated from it right now… I remember the blueberry one being good too. Ugh. Just ini mini miny moe it. Honestly, I don’t think any of them will disappoint! Plus they’re all aesthetically on point. The staff at this location were so sweet and helpful in my decision making. Lol. Thanks guys and gal :) The interior is very nice and well kept. I’ll definitely be back!

The fluffiest, lightest breads(savory & sweet) around town. Try: Red Bean Bun I will admit, I’ve pushed my friends to try it, and it’s definitely not for everyone. If the idea of sweet beans scare you, skip it. It’s actually not that sweet, which might be the problem for newcomers, but I grew up on it and ate one for breakfast every day. Chestnut bread The bread is fluffy and has a buttery texture without the heavy taste of butter(how is this possible? I don’t know. magic). Then, you have roasted chestnuts scattered throughout the bread and spread on top with sweet crumbles that just make the whole bread eating experiene a satisfying one. I eat it alone as a breakfast, snack or dessert, but it would be a great appetizer to a meal for others. Soboro bread aka Peanut Crumb bun Again, the base is the fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth bread but with peanut flavored crumbles on top. There is nothing like it! It pairs deliciously well with coffee. Skip: Green tea/red bean filled croissant The croissant was very bland and dry. The fillings were good, but didn’t match with the croissant taste. It would have been better in the fluffy bun. Skip for sure. I hardly finished it, and I finish everything. Super clean and neat atmosphere!

Everything was like a breeze. You pick what you want, pay, and eat. The staffs are always smiling at their customers and serving them with care. It’s not overly crowded as they have a second floor which was really cute. Most of the seatings on the second floor was near a big window to look outside. There was even a big couch as a seating area. It was comfortable. The second floor also had all the condiments, utensils, and necessary products for your drink or food just like the first floor. The first floor held all the food of course. The moment you walk in, food ranging from salads, sandwiches, bread, pastry, parfaits, drinks, and everything else is already ready for you to choose. Everything is laid out behind several glass windows. All the food food and drinks had their ingredients listed so people can know if it contains food they’re allergic to. That was very helpful. It also listed the calories which is a HUGE bonus for me. I like to keep track of how much I consume and that helped a lot. However, I didn’t find the calorie number on the salads, so that wasn’t well for me since I ate one of their salads. I had a salad that contained sliced grilled chicken, sliced mango, cherry tomatoes, chips, cashews, leafy greens, and a vinaigrette on the side. The vinaigrette was exploding with flavor in my mouth. However, it was on the oily side. It was heavy on oil but other than that the vinaigrette was delicious. It tasted very well with this salad. I also had their regular croissant. It was light and flaky. It was good too. Finally I had their cheese soufflé. It’s about 2 inches in length and 1 inch in width. The flavor was very cheesy. I loved it. I thought it would be dense but it was moist and airy inside. It was yummy.

A new and spacious Paris Baguette shop that opened last week! This one is pretty neat as it has 2 floors and like other stores of the chain, a modern and clean décor. All of their desserts and baked goods are presented with good lighting making them look fresh and yummy. I haven’t had a chance to buy any of them yet as I was thirsty and went for their Green Tea Classic [non-alcoholic] Mojito, which was sweet and refreshing! P. S. They sell really cute«I Love You» and«Happy Birthday» candles for $ 2!

How nice it worked out for me that this spot opened up on the weekend prior to my having jury duty. Was walking down Court looking for something to ea, starving having skipped breakfast and having been locked up in a jury pool all day. Passing all the fast food spots(come on Court st you can do better than that) and saw this sparkling new place with balloons outside and took a look inside. Very clean and just cases on cases full of baked goods. sweets, sandwiches, salads all looking amazing. I opted for the Ham and Emmental on a Pretzel bun. Have to admit I never even heard of Emmantel but this sandwich was pretty darn good. They toasted it up for me so the pretzel was nice and crunchy. Took a walk back to the courts and grabbed a spot on a bench and on this lovely spring da made quick work of that sandwich. Was planing my return trip tomorrow but alas my Jury Duty will be just one day. Oh well. I will always have Paris…
