I handed them a five dollar bill that looked a little worn out and the cashier refused to take it because she said it was fake. She actually accused me of handing them a fake five dollar bill which is absolutely insulting and ridiculous. No one in their right mind would think to even give a fake five dollar bill. I’m highly offended and will never go back again. I even asked for their manager and she refused to call them over. Something clearly needs to be fixed at this place.

I liked them when they were on Hall st. I went to their grand opening and have not been back since. Sad really

Good luck with getting your order correct when phoning it in. If you pick up, better check it before you leave.

Not a destination restaurant, but good for neighborhood Chinese. Like: Chicken and eggplant, chicken with cashew nuts, beef with bean curd, young chow fried rice, orange beef. Dislike: Anything called«crab» or «lobster» that is made with that fake crab stick stuff, not that I expected anything more but I say don’t even put it on the menu). The standards are all what you expect(sesame chicken, etc). I find the lo mein a little bland. Basically this is your standard chinese takeout but I think the guy in the kitchen has a smidge more talent versus the local competition. I would still go to Chinatown /Flushing /Sunset Park for more authentic chinese food.

Ok, so I am so not a fan of Chinese food, which is usually greasy and has weird artificial tastes. But, I just had New Grace Tso’s chicken, rice, shrimp and potatoes. It was not greasy, it was actually very tasty, and for the 7 $, it was great value. You can chose 4 items for this money. For students this is perfect, and again, tasted pretty healthy.

One of those salad bar type restaurants which allow you to choose a few items with rice for their lunch/dinner special. The bar items are pretty varied, with at least 20 items to choose from. Most of the items are pretty good, some not so much. They have the usual take-out staples, like General Tso’s chicken and beef and broccoli. Not a bad choice for lunch, though it is pretty much a Chinese take-out place.

If I need a quick cheap meal that has some kind of vegetable(s), then this is the place. It tastes pretty decent, too. Nothing special. I go here when there’s no time to cook anything.

What happened here? I first went here to New Grace my first year of college nearby, and while they were open in their old location by Associated, I recall dropping in a few times to pick up some take-out as an occasional, moderately priced treat. Back then, it tasted fine, though nothing compared to home-cooked traditional family recipes. It was edible, at the very least, no better and no worse than other Chinese take-out places. Flash forward a year, and they’ve moved a street down. It was quieter this time I went, and I think I understand why. They seemed to have switched to some«buffet» style thing, and the food wasn’t as good anymore. I couldn’t even finish what I had bought because it made me ill before I finished it. It was served lukewarm, and it seems like my more favorite dishes have vanished off the menu. Nothing looked half-fresh anymore. Are they catering to non-Chinese even more than before? I’m going elsewhere to look for cheap, tasty Chinese food for Chinese people.

Let me start by saying that 1 star is for quick delivery time and the other is for the food being semi edible. We ordered… 1) Wonton soup that had a funky sour taste 2) Chow fun that had the same sour taste and was inedible 3) more yellow fried rice that was just ok 4) sesame chicken that wad mushy breading in a sweet sauce. This was the most edible. Not saying much. Where is all the good chinese!!! I am still mourning the fact that mr. Wonton won’t deliver to my new home! ;(

My girlfriend, connoisseur of chinese food takeout and delivery, loves this place. According to her, the sesame chicken is unlike any other, fried but not too fried, and the sauce is lighter when compared to the local competition. My take? Chinese food restaurants, like delis, dive bars, and thrift stores are highly subjective. We all have our reasons for visiting a particular location while others. I am merely steps away from Hunan Garden, but I will never order from there. When I’m going through my dirty jeans looking for money to buy a cheap meal, New Grace always gets my business.

Probably the best local Chinese takeout in the area. Like others have mentioned, I’d maybe stay shy of things that haven’t been deep fried, but if you’re expecting fabulous, authentic cuisine, you’re in the wrong place. New Grace offers standard Chinese takeout quickly, cheaply, and with a smile. I’ve never had a problem with the staff, the delivery, or with the food. An incredibly comforting indulgence that’s been first on my list for many a movie night at home. They’re open til at least 1AM most nights, and deliver til 11/11:30. Also, from what I’ve gathered, the man who usually operates the counter can speak at least 3 – 4 languages well enough that he can ask his customers about more than just their orders – which is awesome and impressive.

this is your average fast food chinese place but it is def better than any of the others in the area. If you live at or around pratt and need some chinese this is the place to go.

As long as you don’t go in expecting more than simply just the same fast food-esque thrills of your hometown Chinese restaurant, you won’t be disappointed. Their fried rice and General Tso’s Chicken taste exactly as you’d expect it to. While not fascinating, the place is certainly leaps and bounds better than Sappolo and comparable if not slightly better than Kum Kau. I’ve had some bad experiences with the delivery for this place.

So far most most of the Chinese food I have encountered in Brooklyn is trashy junk food. Grace is a take-out style place near me in Clinton Hill that I will go when desperate. I feel like it is the best of breed even if the breed is inherently funky in Brooklyn. Sweet fried things are of course satisfying. The potstickers are standard heavy pork filled with a think skin but solid in its class. Noodles are alright… blah blah you know what they have, just get your stand-by dish. The counter folks are brusque but not mean, they just deal with wackos and Pratt students all day and they have a bit of a protective shield up I think. One star for being food plus one star for being best in class Chinese junk food. If they actually delivered to me(which they should according to their map but refuse never-the-less) I would give them another star. Indulge.

Good. Cheap. Greasy. Delivers. This is the place to call in Clinton Hill when there’s no food in the fridge and you’re feeling lazy.
