Extremely long lines any summer/spring day. Does it worth the wait? Only if you are in Coney Island. Some credit to Nathan’s: the taste taste the same it did ten years ago. I guess you do not change what work. Average food that is fun to eat. Only if you are in the area. If it is a summer day, be prepared to wait.

Very average. I think that it’s something you just have to try while in Coney Island but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this hot dog. At the end of the day, it’s nothing special but if you’re in Coney Island for the rides it’s a good place to stop by. Luckily, I went in the winter time(not knowing Coney Island would be closed) so the lines at Nathans weren’t long but there was still no seating. I would say the best part of the meal was the fries.

Can’t beat Nathan’s for a good hotdog, some fish and chips and their shrimp. Their orangeade is not so great, basically tasted like the kid famous box drink — hi-C. I can always recommend Nathan’s for a good hotdog on Coney Island’s boardwalk.

Was on my bucket list and it did not disappoint me when i finally ate at the original location. Come CI, you have to eat here. No need to get famcy with your order. Hot dog and their great fries will be worth it.

Hyped and overrated! First the queue at this joint is pretty long(expect 15 – 20 mins minimum). Then once u collect ur order the next challenge is to find a spot to sit. This becomes tough, if the sun is scorching hot. Plus, it’s just like any other Hotdog. Really failed to understand what’s the hubaloo about!

Poor service but authentic flavor! Lines formed very randomly, but the wait wasn’t too long. Our cashier, the shift manager crystal took a minute to help us while she poured herself a drink. Not impressed with that attitude. The hotdogs were fresh and fries were yummy! I had the Coney Island lager on draft a great light malty lager. The medium is a pint!

The lines here are not only insanely long, but it also moves so gosh darn slowly. Not ideal on a hot, sweltering day during the peak of summer. And to be packed like sardines in line with sweaty, sticky, sunscreen-smelling people when it is 90+ degrees weather? Ah, nightmare! Not to mention after you receive your order, it is near impossible to find a seat. I don’t understand. How hard is it to put together a hot dog or smother some cheese over fries? Why must it take so long? The food here is way overpriced and not even half decent tasting at all. The lobster salad sandwich is the worst excuse of a «lobster» ever. I might as well be eating straight coleslaw in a hot dog bun. The fries were over fried, yet soggy. The hot dog was just downright sad. How did Takeru Kobayashi manage to eat so many? I guess the only reasons people come here is because 1) there are not many food options in Coney Island and 2) it is the Coney Island beach thing to do. No thanks. And never again.

NATHANSFAMOUSHOTDOGS! I guess this would be things to do when your in NYC. BUT! I have to say. It wasn’t all that. I mean you are competing with the worlds hot dogs where West coast Triumphs you in flavor, creativity, and texture. One of NYC’s signature is hot dogs! I feel like we can up the game! I get the classics are good too. But it doesn’t hurt to have more variety! So we ordered dog with onions, classic dog, corn dog, the fries, cheese fries, lemonade and mango slush. For a long line, and over price weiners. I rather go else where and eat something else. Spending $ 30 on dogs is just not my forte.

I don’t think you could go wrong with hot dogs… Hubby and I went out on a date and decided to go to Coney Island and when in Coney Island u must have a Nathans hot dog come on is a must right??? So I decided to have a chili dog with French fries and a beer on the side … Yes they sell beers at Nathans I couldn’t believe it that’s why I love NY… Lines were long but don’t let that discouraged u … We barely waited in line … The menu was out of this world they had everything from seafood to burgers to raw oysters(I know it falls under seafood but come on raw oysters at Nathans?) Anyway when in Coney Island make sure to stop here … Great service good hot dogs refreshing beer.

Super long lines. What pissed me off even more was the fact that once I got to the cashier, ordered, and handed my money, he took even longer to count it. Did he not know what a $ 1 coin looks like and what a half dollar coin looks like. He had counted it three times and I had guided him all three times. He even tried to call attention to one of the managers, but the manager didn’t respond. The famous hot dog was really juicy, but slightly oversalted. The cheese fries were great too! Soft potato fries with a layer of melted cheese. Would I come back here for the dogs? No. The fries? Definitely! But with bacon next time!

The food is ok. Highly processed, salty, fatty yumminess. The lines are ridic on the boardwalk… go around to the original for a slightly shorter line.

Nathan’s has been famous since 1916. You can’t help when in Coney Island stopping by the stand either on Surf Ave or the Boardwalk. I on July 4th while walking on the boardwalk, came across Nathan’s and couldnt help but want a hot dog. After a long wait on line, I ordered a hotdog with mustard and saukerkraut, a large order of fries, and a small lemonade. My bf loved the fries, but didnt share in my love of the hot dog. However, I have to be honest I was expecting more. The hot dog was ok. Maybe the toppings were too much and took away from the hot dog.

What’s more American than going to Coney island to watch people eat as many hot dogs as possible in ten minutes? Going to Nathan’s afterwards to eat one yourself. I guess everyone else had the same exact idea though. There should have been a sign near the end of the queue that reads ‘abandon hope all ye who enter’ because you’re in for a wait. There are about ten different lines for registers and each one moves slower than the last. We waited about a half hour to put our order of one hot dog in. Then you get your order ticket and need to hold your ground among the throngs of people waiting to order while you await your food. The dog itself was pretty good not great. It’s a Nathan’s hot dog so you can’t really go wrong there. Being a Chicago kid at heart it did leave me wanting more though. I’d go here just for the experience but way too crowded to really enjoy it.

The original Nathan’s and where they have the 4th of July hot dog eating contest. I looooove the boardwalk at Coney Island and Nathan’s is a necessary stop along the way. I’d opt for Nathan’s over the sit down restaurants or bars I saw there, just because of the summery feel of getting a hot dog and fries and sitting facing the beach. Benches are limited however, but you’ll hopefully find some seating if you walk a little further down. This location is insanelyyyy crowded over the summer(I’ve waited up to a half hour at times) but on some days like today it’s not so bad. Service could be WAY quicker considering they have a lot of cashiers. Get a chili cheese dog or a corn dog and no matter what, the fries!

First off, let me say that we did not have hot dogs. Instead, we opted for seafood. I got the fried shrimp and my mom got the lobster salad sandwich. Both meals were awesome. The shrimp was freshly made and just rightly crisp, not burnt and not old with decent cocktail sauce. The lobster salad was good too with just enough mayonnaise. We also got some of the Auntie Anne’s pretzels and they were delicious. Oh and the fresh lemonade. So, all that(4 pretzels total between 3 people), was about $ 30. Pretty great value for good fare. Seating could be an issue, but nearby benches accommodate 3 – 4 people just fine and the view and atmosphere are wonderful.

I’m in love with Nathan’s hot dogs, I’ve probably consumed way more than respectable woman should last summer. Throw some mustard, onions, and ketchup on it, and I’m a happy gal. Plain crinkle fries and the cheese fries are THEBEST and I can’t get enough of them, you also get a really decent portion of fries whenever you come here. Deliciously fried, salty, and filling. After eating here, be prepared to look and feel about 7 months pregnant. Despite the guaranteed discomfort I get eating here, nothing beats eating a Nathan’s hot dog, fries, and soda on the boardwalk during the summer days and nights. As much as I love it here, I’m not sure why it takes 45 minutes to take an order and cook the food here. Oh wait, let me paint a picture for a possible reason for the 45 minutes wait. As fate would have it, out of the 7 lines I could have joined, I hopped onto the America’s Got Talent’s potential performer line. Rather than getting the orders complete in a quick and efficient manner, our cashier would disappear for minutes upon minutes upon minutes. As I got closer, I saw that every time he would disappear, it was to dance around behind the counter and sing to the rest of the staff into his giant paper cup. Are you kidding me, bro? This was literally infuriating. Not one manager had anything to say to the staff members who were spending their customers’ time and trying their patience, to chit-chat and dance around. For people who are around the food all the time, I’m not sure why the cashiers act confused every time they are given an order. For example, I said«…and one water bottle.» The cashier looked at me and after a long pause said, «…So you mean a bottle of water?» &%$#@!!! Many of the staff needs to work quicker and more efficiently and learn how to interact with customers better. Also, considering you have people swarm your establishment by the dozens, maybe getting more tables wouldn’t be a bad idea. Nothing beats stalking around families uncomfortably until they feel forced to get up and leave out of discomfort, thus, allowing you to sit and enjoy some of your meal before someone does the same to you. Circleeeee of lifeeeeeee. Three stars because the FOOD is amazing and it’s iconic! Classic place, need to come here!

As we walked down the boardwalk, we saw Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs, and we knew we had to stop in for lunch. When we walked up to the counter we were warmly greeted by polite staff, but very quickly we realized that the prices were expensive due to the location. That being said, we grabbed some dogs and tried to find a seat. The seating here is a little hard to come by, but once we circled like vultures for 5 minutes we found a table. The food itself was great, but the wait time on the food was long. The crowd was huge which impacted how fast the food was made. In the end, we enjoyed the meal itself but the hassle around the experience was a bit of a pain. That being said, we would definitely come back in the future.

*There’s something magical about Coney Island. This Nathan’s is their very first store to open. *Must Try: Nathan’s cheese fries, chili hot dogs, corn dogs! *the menu is a bit different as compared to the typical Nathan’s, with seafood items available.

Nyc’s iconic hot dog place Nathan’s always a pleasure to get a hot dog from this place! I mean they have been thru it all and still serving quality foods! We got the chicken hotdog and the crispy can sandwich and fries! Everything was so good man I wish I could have them again. My only issue is with the service I get that working at a fast food place is not something to be proud of but its a job don’t act like you don’t give a shit

Nathan’s, an absolute s#it show! Endless herds of people, a line that would make Space Mountain blush, overflowing anticipation and a surplus of hype over what can only be described as a very average hot dog. How do you stomach 69 of these, Joey Chestnut? Seriously though, the line takes forever and a day. Don’t deviate from your path and don’t watch others around you for what may be the faster route — you’ll quickly become disappointed. There are no stanchions to keep order and it’s only a matter of time before Nathan’s perpetuates its legacy by evoking an enormous Coney Island riot. Do yourself a favor and seek out one of the smaller«satellite» Nathan’s carts near the rides. You’ll get the same crummy product with half the frustration at the same price. They don’t offer the entire menu, but if you’re simply in search of a Nathan’s hot dog in Coney Island, the cart will do the trick.
