This place has some good shisha. Can’t go wrong with the fresh fruit. Price is cheap and hookah is good. This place offers a lot of food but never tried it, only go there for the shisha. Place isn’t overly crowded and the music isn’t blasting as other places. This is a chill down smoke spot.

Good argieleh/shisha(hookah) here. This hole-in-the-wall spot in Brooklyn is a great place to kick it with friends. It’s not far from local subway stops, making it easily accessible. The prices are very reasonable compared to other shops, so you won’t be breaking the bank here. My personal recommendation is to get a pot of the Yemeni tea to go along with your hookah. You can’t go wrong with that combo. I know my hookahs and the difference between good and bad hookah establishments. Mocha Hookah does it right. First and foremost, they use professional grade hookahs, the expensive stuff. This ensures that you’ll get the most out of your smoke session. On a recent visit with a friend, ours lasted for a good hour and some change. I especially like that they use actual hardwood lump charcoal instead of the chemical circular discs(which tampers with the flavor) that you’ll find in most establishments. The attendant comes by very frequently to replace the old coals and place a set of fresh ones on. On busier nights, such as a Friday or Saturday, you might have to anticipate slower service, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

Services has improved. Music has gotten better. The food has always been great. There’s always parking available outside. The owner Amar is very respectful We’re here 24/7, almost all the time. Wouldn’t trade this place for anything. My first choice when it comes for chilling.

This place is awful, the service sucks, the guys hit on you and then they REQUIRE that EVERYONE buy something so you can’t share your food if you want to. They don’t refill your water only the coal in the hookah and the quality of the hookah is terrible, do not recommend coming here.

I went there this afternoon. Nobody greeted us. We sat and after a few minutes someone finally came and took our order. The food was mediocre. The feta was good, but that was about it. The pita was hard. The baba ghanoush had no flavor. There didn’t seem to be any employees that were really working. I think they were smoking the hookah. I always carry metal straws to drink from. When we paid the bill, we left without taking them out of our glasses. I made it all the way to the Staten Island Ferry before realizing i had forgotten them. I called the restaurant to let them know but lost my signal on the boat. I tried to call a few times but got a busy signal or no answer at all. When i got back to where i was staying, I called again. Only to be told, that the dishwasher had thrown them away and the trash was already outside. I call bullshit. I knew it was a long shot, but what can i do. I will just have to buy more. Definitely won’t be going back there. Only getting one star because i can’t post without selecting any. 2 thumbs down

Pretty good spot for this area. You really get what you pay for, it’s not upscale or fancy it’s a quick hookah spot where you can spend $ 20 and feel like you didn’t break the bank. Be warned, soda is $ 3 per can!

Very fun to do hookah, it is definitely a chill spot. A lot of people do come in. It is more of a sit back and relax kind of place. I did not try their food but I am sure it was good because everyone else that came ordered food. All I had was their french fries because I started to feel a bit light headed and decided to munch on something. I tried the Watermelon Head and it was AWESOME. Definitely a must try place for hookah and not too far away for fellow Brooklynites.

I have had hookah before and i must say this one(simple apple) hit me right in the chest… wwwwaaaayyy after the fact. But let me start by saying. oh my goodness the place smelled like sweaty armpit. The décor is simple, but the smell was off putting. Im not exactly sure what was in the hookah but damn. It took over two hours to hit me. The taste was there but the heaviness of the hookah took a while to set in. At least someone comes around to change the charcoal. The drinks are SUPER sweet. Beware of the almond joy… you may need to follow it up with a gallon of water or insulin. Its a decent spot but the reason its getting 2 stars is because of the smell, the lack of decent table service(the person only came to the table once and was never seen again), and the utter flith of the bathroom. The bathroom is right next to the counter and should not be in the condition that it was in.

I smoke hookah every day… And I have to say this is the only hookah I smoke that hits me hard!!! I have smoked at every spot in the Astoria on Steinway and I have a home collection as well… I don’t know what they do but it works! The service is always great. They replenish coals without your coals constantly without you having to even ask. Also have to add that they use the wood coal instead of the popular coconut varieties. The food is good and comes out fast! Free wi-fi for customers and did I mention … Open 24hours!!! I am there usually twice a week at least

If zero stars existed on Unilocal, that would be my choice. This place is as crappy as it gets. Looks completely dirty. Holes in the couches. Dirty floors. They obviously don’t care about this place. Don’t even want to know what the kitchen looks like. No one sat us. We sat ourselves. No one asked what we wanted to order. Had to get up and ask ourselves. And to top it off, they forgot to put the order in while they were just standing around. Then when we got our order a half hour later, the hookah hose didn’t work. We walked out. They didn’t even notice. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but this place!

The staff are great. Until today the old man who works there piseed me off when he yelled at the staff in front of all the customers for giving me glass water with the food I have ordered for which I specifically asked because I don’t drink bottled water… he snatched the glass waters and gave us two bottles while screaming and shouting at the employee like a crazy man. I’m not sure if there’s a law that says if customer want glass water then they must provide it rather than bottled. If anyone knows please let me know because I’d definitely like to prove a point… we come here almost every day spending at least $ 60 to $ 70 per day… I think if we want glass water, we should be provided glass water. The foods great but owners need to work on dealing with their staffs right. As an Union organizer, it hurts me to see staffs being harassed. I will give a better review once I see the man apologize for his misbehavior towards the employees. Otherwise, I will be forced to get the labor union involved. Thank you

Only my second time visiting. We puffed on the middle eastern smokes, and man they are strong not that it’s a bad thing. I think it’s great! Plenty of flavors to choose from, and a menu full of foods to eat in case your stomach calls for it(SN: I have not eaten from here). The Yemeni Tea on the other hand is just perfect. Get the pot and have with milk, it may seem like a lot but you’ll finish it. Last thing, put your feet up and make yourself at home like a local! Ps– they could use some new décor, considering nearby additions to the neighborhood.

About 2 miles from the Barclay center and right near the court house, Mocha Hookah is a great spot for an extended lunch. The staff is nice and they constantly replenish your coals quickly and without prompting. The ambiance is shoddy and run down but it’s cozy, has wifi and great food/coffee. The price is what really makes this place though. A hookah with a gyro and soda is only $ 20.

My husband and I went on one of our first dates here on a whim one evening when we wanted affordable hookah and snacks at 1am nearby in Brooklyn. Unilocal didn’t seem to do this place that much justice, but we took a chance on a small business… and we have been back many times since! This place is warm and inviting, and always has a good sized crowd. The young men and women who work there are very friendly and will help you right away. The seats are very comfortable, and they have some cool artwork on the wall. Lots of good hookah choices and DELICIOUS food! We get tea every time and we love their gyros. The coals on your hookah are replaced as soon as you need them to be, and the service is quick. We like to get the rose flavor and fresh fruit with our hookah. The music is a bit loud sometimes, but not overbearing. Definitely check out this place if you want a late night hang out spot where you can feel comfortable, relax, and enjoy some delicious snacks and good hookah!

Over the last year I’ve managed to visit this place a few times. We always come for the hookah and their food is pretty good. They have a back room with many sofa areas and plenty of TVs. We were back there on our first visit and it’s very comfortable. We actually had a nice Apple Hookah, some Mint Tea and watch a movie we selected for our section. In the evenings, I understand you must have a reservation for this area. The front portion is more a classic restaurant with more of a diner feel. You can get hookahs in the front as well. They also have a few TVs in the front as we enjoyed watching one of the World Cup games while eating and smoking. If you don’t want to be around people hookah’ing then I would suggest not coming as this seems to be the primary reason come here. They have an extensive selection for the hookah but we always go with the classic Apple. They are very good at attending to the hookahs. I would classify their food as good but not great. They do have a very large menu so there may be some hidden gems I’ve simply not discovered. Their Shawarma’s are good and should satisfy most people. Their Mint Tea is also very good. Unfortunately the service can be a bit slow and they don’t always stay on top of things like keeping drinks filled. It seems I am always pushing them to bring another pot of tea or reminding them about an order I’ve placed.

The fact that they are open 24/hr is amazing, so kudos to that. The food is typical diner food, the waitress was a sweetheart. Sadly though I’d had better stronger longer lasting hookah elsewhere, and the effort it takes to flag someone down is annoying. If you’re drinking fluids and need to go to the restroom, you’re better off finding a dark alley somewhere, trust me. Those toilet seats fall off and are covered with unidentified things.

There are two types of people who go to Mocha Hookah. People from countries where hookah cafes line up the streets who miss that environment and people who have spent way too much on booze and now are kicking back sobering off with some hookah. Their hookah is pretty sub-par. It tastes synthetic. The service is incredibly slow. The place simply isn’t welcoming either. The food, however, is pretty good. That’s why I give this place two stars. Order their shawarma and you won’t be disappointed. The portions are incredibly generous. Their hummus isn’t bad either. Also, this place is very strict about alcohol. It isn’t allowed. So, if you’re looking to have some wine with that mint hookah, you’re better off going to St. Mark’s place.

I rate Mocha Hookah 3 stars because before this place got popular and mainstream, I’ve been told that the house rules were a bit more lenient. Family and I came here to relax after dinner and the place was kinds packed. All the smaller tables had been taken and so we sat with another smaller group. For $ 15 we got a hookah with both coconut and mint packed into a half carved out orange peel. That was an interesting touch. They mandated that every person order something, they just started serving boba(bubble) tea, and being a boba(bubble) enthusiast, I decided to try their green bubble milk tea. Now I should have realized that a place that didn’t have any background in selling milk tea should not have advertised as such. Anyway, my order was just par, nothing special. My sister ordered the hummus and pita bread spread, hummus was pretty tasty. not too grainy, and just the right texture. overall, a decent quality experience
