Haven’t been by here lately but always really liked this place. Standing in front as I type this and it looks shut down. My guess is like everything else in this neighborhood they were forced out by extraordinarily high rents.

We eat here or take out on a weekly basis. The food is good, both Japanese and Korean. The price is very reasonable. Most importantly the staff is wonderful. They have become friends. This is a very family friendly restaurant where you can get good food at a reasonable price. Not easy to find inWilliamsburg these days.

HORRIBLE! This is false advertisement for Japanese food. The sushi was cut like a 2 year old did it. The bento box for lunch was $ 18 and full of disgusting Korean food. I had to send it back it was so bad. I have lived and traveled all over Japan and this is not Japanese sushi or food! It’s not worth the price at all!

This is a really good Japanese/Korean place. Miso soup is really good as are the pancakes. The menu has traditional Japanese & Korean offerings. The sushi is really good as is the beef negamaki. Delicious Korean Bim bap too. The staff are always very friendly and attentive.

Really not a very good restaurant… Very nice people, all very nice, but the food is just no good… The quality of fish is better at a deli and they garnish plates with lettuce, not shiso… Smacks of cost cutting… Again very nice people, terrible food… Prices are the same at Samurai Mama, shame on me for being too lazy to walk over!!! I live in the hood, with the rising rents and all I still don’t understand how these peeps are still in business… Again the nicest people… So it pains me to write this… Terrible food…

Why are you SOGOOD? Staffs are very friendly and nice. Great service. Cozy ambience. Nice place to enjoy japanese/korean food with sake/beer in Brooklyn. I probably tried almost everything on the menu and I didn’t dislike anything yet. Sushi and rolls are all fresh. My favorites are their hand rolls and special rolls. If you are around and want to stay local and enjoy a meal, try this place.

Definitely one of the best sushi places in Brooklyn. The crab scallion pancakes are to die for! And is a good size to share. The rolls: — Sunny — Futomaki — Lover Roll 2 — Fugi — Cherry Blossom I would get the same every time! Great prices too

Clean, fresh, and won’t disappoint the average sushi lover. Waiters can be more attentive though.

Consistently fresh, delicious sushi — best in Williamsburg. Korean menu is great, too. Conscientious and efficient staff, and friendly owner. We’ve been regulars for 8 years.

This is my favorite local fresh go-to sushi. They were family friendly when we dined in and we received very good service. They’re great with packaging your order for pick up/take out too.

I feel mildly unfair in writing this review as I ate half my meal in Miyako itself and took half to go… so that drastically changes the actual sushi eating experience. I am leaving this place with 4 stars because the soup and the appetizer which I ate in the restaurant were really good. My friend and I came here on a whim on a Monday evening around 8:45pm. They were surprisingly busy(many tables still hadn’t been bussed… many tables still full of diners) and seemingly understaffed. It took the one server in the dining room about 15 minutes to come bring us water, menus and eventually take our order. I had their sushi platter, an order of miso soup and we shared the kimchi pancake and edamame. The edamame was fine — nothing exciting but it never really is. The kimchi pancake, on the other hand, was delightful. The pieces of kimchi were sizable and the pancake was well cooked — not too crispy and not too flimsy. The soups came next and were also good. But… because the place was busy… it was already almost 9:30 and we hadn’t had our main sushi meals yet so we asked for them to be packed to go. The server was apologetic and did just as we asked. I ate the rest of my meal from home and it was fine — but as I said, I don’t feel right reviewing this restaurant for the take-out portion of my meal. Perhaps I’ll be back and actually finish my meal in house and at that time, I’ll update my food views.

Two stars for the hamachi handroll, everything else was horrible. The sashimi platter for 2 had a slimy, black shiso leaf sitting on top of the raw fish. If they couldn’t even make sure that the shiso leaf was fresh then how can I possibly trust them with raw fish? The chef whom cut the fish had absolutely no knife skills. Every piece of sashimi was cut into these huge slabs with jagged edges. I prefer my sashimi on the thinner side, not looking like a cross section of a tree trunk. The kimchee soup also had no flavor and no depth. It tasted as if they added some hot sauce and chili flakes to boiling water. I cannot justify ever returning here.

I loved the Korean fried rice! The bib bim bop was delicious in the traditional hot bowl. I also really enjoyed the Kim chee pancakes. Husband was not crazy about the sushi he ordered but we both loved the service with a smile and friendly staff! I would definitely go back. Pretty authentic Korean food. In Los Angeles it is near impossible to get Korean food with friendly service! I’m not sure if you have to be mean and rude to work in Korean restaurants but maybe that’s the authentic experience?! At Miyako, I really liked our waiter Young and the others as well. They were very sweet and friendly. Going out to eat with an almost eleven month old is never easy, most of the time she is an absolute angel, but tonight she was a bit scary.(We try to eat out very early when it is less crowded!) I really appreciated how sweet they were about our baby. When I’m back in New York next month, I will take the water taxi from Manhattan to come back for dinner! Or the L train to Bedford! Only three stops from Union Square! Too bad they are not open for lunch. If you are craving some Korean food in Williamsburg, definitely check out Miyako Sushi!

Love Japanese food! I was surprised by some of their options that you don’t normally see elsewhere, especially for vegetarians! We came in a large group, which they did a great job handling. Our waitress was especially impressive and remembered our orders easily, who ordered what, and skillfully dealt with our craziness. I ordered the tofu udon and tofu donburi(rice bowl). We also had lots of appetizers, including the shrimp dumplings and agedashi tofu. All was really good– I especially loved the donburi! It was reallly good and a pleasant surprise. My only complaint is that the tofu was wayyy too sweet in the udon dish. Other than that, I really enjoyed our meal :) The deserts were pretty cool, too! Someone at our table ordered the flaming fried ice cream(red bean), which they brought to the table and lit on fire. So that was fun! We also ate the fried banana with green tea ice cream. That banana was so good. I’d love to go back!

Sushi is decent, and very reasonably priced. We have probably gone 25 times in the last few years. The beef bib bim bop is great, definitely go for the hot pot with the egg. I mix in both sauces and add a little spice. We often go for the platter A, or some combination. It is nice to have variety of the rolls and sashimi. I have been known to have the Philadelphia rolls for dessert. The prices are very good for Williamsburg. The place is pretty small, but it is neat and clean and is rarely packed. The service is excellent. Truly nice people. We always get extra wasabi and ginger and they have learned our pattern.

Came here after work with my coworker for Korean dine, and surprised that they had more Japanese menus than Korean menu. They were generally nice in terms of service only they The korean menu I wanted to order was out but they gave me alternative suggestion that was similar to the dish I was to order. The Kimchi-chigae was not spicy as I was expected or what I have had in the past in different place, but still we enjoyed our dinner and the time. I didn’t try their Japanese menu but maybe I would if I came next time.

I was in the area with a few friends and since our movie was sold out we decided to find a place to eat. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, it didn’t even look open but once you come in its very cute and cozy. We were greeted right away and were told to sit at a table in the back. The waitress came by right away with water and gave us a few minutes to decide on our order. Once we ordered the food took a little longer than in most sushi spots but it was worth the wait since it was delicious. Our waitress came by a few times to make sure we were okay and to refill our water.

I have been a huge fan of Miyako for years. I live 2 blocks away WHICHISDANGEROUS! Let me start by saying that I have a huge allergy to shell fish and avocado. SOWHATTHEHELLCAN I EATTHERE??? Tons of stuff! and everything is good… The service is always quick, so much so that if you have to wait five minutes for a waiter, you find yourself thinking«God this service sucks today» but is retrospect… its quick, friendly and they ALWAYS get your order right. I am a creature of habit so, I always get: Pan-Fried vegetable Gyoza Sweet Potato Roll and Chicken Dol Sut Bi Bim Bap(amazing with rice, vegetables and a perfectly cooked egg on top) Its cooked in a hot pot so the rice on the bottom gets crispy and golden. ITISAMAZING. Served with chili sauce and sesame oil of course :) I always order too much and I always eat myself sick there because its so good I just can’t stop… My boyfriend says that the sushi is ALWAYS fresh and he is very picky about sushi. The prices can’t be beat and its a great place for a couple or a group of friends. If you live in the neighborhood GO… if you are a visitor to our lovely neighborhood GO…

I was seriously not impressed with this restaurant. It was a Saturday night and this place was not busy for a reason, I should have seen the signs. Dinner for two was $ 80 and was not even filling. The fish was very fishy. The sushi here was not to my liking at all and the rolls were very small, hence the low prices. The flavors in the creative rolls did not meld well together and it was just awkward. The Agedashi tofu was dry and super bland. They do have some Korean dishes, but you can find better Korean food elsewhere in the city for the same price. We had the Spicy Korean Udon Noodles with Squid. The Squid was so chewy that you could not eat it.
