Stopped by due to their late hours(not many options at 11:30!). Their sushi rolls are on point best kosher option in the city! My friend got the shwarma laffa and wouldnt stop raving about it! I’d definitely visit again!

The worst food I had in a long time. Cost $ 80 for four of us, while none of us could finish the food because it was so nasty. Avoid.

Never been so disappointed in a restaurant since I moved to NY. I’m home sick today and decided to order 2 chicken noodle soups and an Israeli salad(overpriced at $ 15, so I expected something decent) from this place at a roommate’s suggestion. An hour later, it arrives and it’s the saddest excuse for food I have ever seen. The soups were nothing but noodles in a salty, nasty-tasting broth, and the«Israeli» salad was nothing but cucumbers and tomatoes with no salt, pepper, lemon, etc. and I’d like to re-emphasize that the soup broth tasted purely like MSG. No chicken and no vegetables. My roommate and I call them back and ask for a refund, and they argue with us! The man on the phone tells us «chicken noodle soup» doesn’t have to have vegetables in it because it’s «not in the name.» What? Did you make this without vegetables? It sure tastes like it. And he had no explanation for why there was no chicken, either. Pretty sure that’s in the name«CHICKEN noodle soup.» After arguing, they finally refunded ONE soup. Never encountered such a cheap, unprofessional place before. My roommate and I will never order from them again. $ 10 in the trash, no more in the food budget for today, and I don’t have soup. EDIT: They have not even refunded me the one soup they said they would. Incredible. Also, I see another review here stating that the owners are«not Americans» so they shouldn’t be held to the same customer service standards and«care what you think.» In all honestly, they probably opened this restaurant in America and not Israel because real Israelis would not pay for this disgusting food.

This is a most unusual place. They’re located next to a dairy coffee bar in the lobby of a Jewish kids’ museum, with exhibits on things like kosher groceries and shofar blowing. Well, the shofarot aren’t the only things that blow here. The subpar fleshigs served at this Mendy’s location blow plenty on their own. I’m not sure if they’re owned by the same owners as the Mendy’s stores in the city, but the food here leaves much to be desired. I had deli on salad, and deli sandwiches here, nothing fancy, and it was just ok. I’ve had better elsewhere. The young and inexperienced staff look at you like you have four heads growing out of their tuchus if you ask for anything, like the dressing that’s supposed to come with the salad. It’s sort of dumpy; nice seating seems reserved for the party room. In my experience, when kosher places try to be the master jack(or Yankel) of all trades, they end up failing at everything. Israeli, Chinese, and deli on one menu is an unholy trinity(pardon the treif/avodah zarah reference for a combination that just doesn’t shtim). If they just kept to the deli aspect, dayenu. I’m not quite sure women are being harassed here, as one commentator said in his review. Maybe I just never bore witness to that sort of nonkosher canoodling.

I ate there again. This time I had Chinese. I paid close to $ 18 for Beef Lo Mein that came with Fried Rice and coffee. The staff was friendly. When I commented that their coffee maker that makes coffee fresh by the cup only filled my cup halfway they offered to give me a second cup on the house. The place was neat and quiet. But the food was pretty bad. The Lo Mein was so greasy that it shined with oil. The rice was overdone, clumpy and very soft and mushy. One more point the food was VERY cold. I think it had been sitting out a long time(prepared) and they didn’t bother to warm it up for me. It definitely wasn’t worth the price tag I paid for it.

We live down the street and order here occasionally. We love the burgers, middle eastern combo platter, shwaffle and corned beef sandwich to name a few things. I usually ask if they have everything in the regular order as they can run out of stuff sometimes. When I ask for a side of tahini they send like 5, which is great bc I love tahini! The people running it are not Americans so don’t expect your toes to be kissed bc they’re not American, haha. Delivery takes about 30 minutes standard but I always make sure of the timing. This is not the kind of restaurant where they care what you think. It’s like your Jewish mothers kitchen. She has what she has, she’s happy if you’re satisfied but isn’t making herself crazy trying to please you. The food is reliably good in my opinion. Only 4 stars bc, hey, it’s just not a five star kind of place. I’ve been there for events and found them well catered, organized and super delicious.

I ordered food for delivery here and it’s been over 1 hour and still no food. I just hope the food will be hot and good to make up for the time it took to get here. I don’t know why it takes over an hour for their delivery service. The food was ok but it took way too long for the food to get to me. Please fix this issue.

I eat at Mendy on a regular basis when i visit Brooklyn. The place is bouncing because other people enjoy the food. The matzah ball soup is real not from a mix. Hamburgers are yum and my wife enjoyed their falafel plate. The guys who worked the counter are super nice and try to make sure you are taken care of

Stopped in for corned beef on rye & fries. The dining room seems new. The kitchen is open and they have a sushi bar. Prices are reasonable but parking is horrendous. The sandwich was like $ 12.00 and not bad. I enjoyed the fries. Not a bad lunch spot.

Horrible service, way too slow, unprofessional workers. Extremely rude, and I’ve witnessed on countless occasions how they harass women, especially the overweight man behind the counter, they need to fire him. The food is 4⁄10 they messed up my order though, and unfairly charged me. Do not go here, trust me!!!

Decent food. Slow service. Sometimes the orders are messed up. Overall not a bad place but you will need patience. Calling in the order before hand will dramatically speed up the process.

Sitting looking through delivery menus I came across this place and remembered I ate here a lot when I was younger and I was very pleased the burger was delectable made exactly the way I asked I got a wide variety of condiments I never needed to ask for and my lack of knowing exactly what I wanted was met with patience and care And the Moroccan cigars are the best in the area for sure

On a cold, snowy morning, a young woman woke up feeling a little sickies. What more could she want than some of her ima’s(mother in hebrew) chicken soup. Since that wasn’t possible, because ima is aaaalllll the way in a far away land called New Jersey, Mendy’s was the next best option. Apparently I was out of the delivery range, so the owner drove out my delivery on his own. Tried to give him an extra tip but he refused. Soup hit the spot. So did my schnitzel and knish. Extra points for great customer service. Thank you!

A really OK Kosher deli that provides decent corned beef and pastrami to Jewish Museum attendees and the local crowd of Mosiach fans. There’s a new candlelit dining room providing one of the few sit-down dining options in the area, let alone one of the two Kosher ones.

If you are going to visit Crown Heights, and are going to have a bite to eat, come here if you to pay small fortune to drink hot flavored water that they call«Matzoh Ball» Soup. Their service is as good as their Matzoh Ball soup! Feh
