Mayorga Café

I used to hate being hungry in BWI, I never wanted to deal with the rude food service workers. I tried Mayorga’s and boy was I surprised. The customer service is wonderful, the clerk said please and thank you and I’m pretty sure she called me ma’am twice! I almost forgot I was in Baltimore! I ordered the quinoa salad. It’s vegan and gluten free and delicious. I also ordered the latte with almond milk which is even yummier. The café had a great selection of breakfast pastries and lunch meals and fresh OJ. They won me over by catering to those on specialty diets. The next time I’m here on travel, I’m stopping at Mayorga’s first.

Great Customer Service — I dropped in right before closing time to grab a bottle of water during another extended delay courtesy of Southwest Airlines. After purchasing the first bottle the employee who was in the middle of cleaning up for the night threw in a second bottle at no charge and actually apologized for the airline’s incompetencies and wished me good luck…

Coffee at the mall — limited options! This was pretty good and in a convenient location. The coffee and service was good. I also found them to have a great selection of food.

Worst Café con leche EVER! Threw the full cup out it was so bad. Airport dining has improved so much over the past few years This place is not up to par with common standards Disgusting!

Mayorga has turned into a regular stop when transiting through BWI. I was familiar with their fine coffee from many purchases through JR cigars over the years and was excited to find them in the airport when I moved back to the area. The regular brew is fresh and pleasant and I will indulge in the occasional café con leche as well. Quick service and a solid product. You won’t find a better cup in the airport

Two stars for the polite, prompt service and coffee, zero stars for the soggy and cold breakfast sandwich. Dash in, grab a cup of Joe and a pastry, but skip the rest.

Medium Americano was weak and not hot enough. Evidence that it was a single espresso with hot (not steaming from the espresso machine) water added. $ 3.11, not terrible for the airport but I expected at least Starbucks quality.

Having a delayed Southwest flight gives you time to walk around the Baltimore airport. This coffee joint stood out beyond the others, including the long line at Starbucks, and not just because it’s a stand alone café in the middle of the airport, but because of their large amount of delicious muffins, scones and croissants. Oh and their huge bright yellow menu featuring many Latin coffee beverages !
I was going to try something crazy that I couldn’t even pronounce but instead I ordered an iced coffee and the ham/​cheese croissant. The iced coffee was great ! The croissant might have been a little too buttery/​greasy for my liking but still yummy!
Great customer service hands down. The baristas work quick to get you your coffee and pastries.
I guess if you don’t want to wait in a long line and are looking for something quick and easy… Enough said. Check this place out.

I really wanted Starbucks, like really. I hadn’t succumbed to the siren song in days, being on a whirlwind tour of D.C. and all. I walked aimlessly around the airport near the Southwest terminal, enjoying the silence and solitude more than anything (said tour was with 50 middle schoolers). I walked as far as I felt and decided to stop here instead of Starbucks, it’d had been four days, what was one more? Anyway, how badly can they mess up iced coffee with two espresso shots? Only McDonald’s can screw up coffee so it’s an afterthought to sugar and milk, we’d be fine.
And fine we were. Service was great. I was greeted with a smile and a «how are you», so lost at airports these days. I ordered my drink and was pointed in the direction of the pick up area. In seconds my coffee was out. It was delicious! Close enough to Starbucks that I had my caffeine fix. Well done!

This was a welcome respite from normal airport coffee. Choices are normally limited to some huge chain that serves mediocre coffee. Mayorga was considerably different. The selection was both interesting and diverse. It did not have an assembly line feel to it despite its central location.
I got the coffee with a shot of espresso. It was flavorful and not at all generic tasting. I would definitely recommend this place for your airport caffeine jolt.

With an early morning flight on Southwest back to Vegas, I was in definite need of coffee. As soon as I got through security, there was a central location for Mayorga Café. They offer a wide variety of coffee, latte and espressos found at any coffee shop. They were very friendly and quick to make my skinny latte. Delightful and Tasty! The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is their cups and lids had issues. The lids didn’t have a snug fit and I had to reseal several times so I didn’t spill it all over myself. Otherwise, a great latte before starting my day!

While on a layover, needed a pick-​me-​up very badly and saw Mayorga in the distance. Walked closer to get a look at the menu and saw Cuban Coffee! Not too expensive, tasted ‘OK’ but so much sugar was added that there was almost an extra teaspoon of undissolved sugar in the bottom of my cup.
I would classify this as cuban coffee for the desperate, especially if you are not in Cuba or Florida.

I stayed simple and ordered a cup of the Columbian and was not disappointed.
