Manhattan Bridge Car Wash

Please don’t spend your money at this car wash. Over time (the last 3 – 4 years) the level of service and attention to detail has steadily decreased and the staff here fails to consistently do a good job. Specifically, they do an especially poor job of cleaning the interior of the vehicle and there is one short, older Hispanic (possibly Mexican) man who works there who just shouldn’t be there. With my previous Mercedes he damaged the interior by haphazardly spraying cleaning chemicals in attempt to clean the interior and instead managed to ruin the material… I ended up needing to get the doors shampoo’d elsewhere to get the leftover markings/​stains (that he created) out.
Save yourself time, money, and stress! Go somewhere else!

For $ 26 I got:
A greasy, slippery leather interior
windows with streaks and smudges impairing my visibility
More obvious dust pockets on my driver’s dash
And a car that is at least is a little cleaner than it was when I went in.

I don’t have high expectations of these car washes, I only use them to knock off some major dirt after a nasty storm or during Winter. They never deliver perfection, but that’s OK, I like to detail my car myself. I’ve been using this wash for many years, and I think they do a 4 star job. They are open ²⁴⁄₇.

I have been using this car wash for a long time. The service has absolutely gone down hill. Even though you try to explain to these idiots specific instructions on how to clean your car they just don’t seem to understand or don’t care. They consistently do a sloppy job. You end up having to bring your car around again to have them send it through again. The manager, Mohammed is extremely confrontational and totally uncooperative. It’s not like they are a bargain either $ 17.95 plus tax for what they call «The Works»: They certainly do not believe that the customer is always right. They are just plain old «nasty».

Stay away. They barely vacuum, barely clean after the wash and the brushes don’t work very well either.

They could have done a better job with the arm-​oral on the inside. It was really cold, so I cant really fault them for that, gave them all a good tip, but in general, the place is so so. Good that it’s open ²⁴⁄₇ though

Horrible car wash. We paid for the works and it looks like they cleaned it with their eyes closed.

I have been searching for a good oil change spot. I think this place may take the role. I was in and out in 10 minutes, way less than when i go to my other spot which usually takes an 1hr. Car wash is also included in price of oil change! However, they not open if its gonna rain the next day :(

Not worth a dime. they promise you everything but you get nothing. there is no one to talk to about it either. so do not waste anytime there just look for something better

Worth the price. $ 20 is a great price in NYC for a basic interior/​exterior clean. Got my car back in 15 minutes. I’ve spent three times as much, waited 20 times as long for a clean that was maybe twice as good. For a car wash, fast, cheap and good enough earns four stars.

Since I have moved to New York, nothing has frustrated me more than my time at this car wash. I needed to get some polish off of the side (the only reason I went to a car wash), so I asked specifically for that. THEY DIDN’T DO IT. Then when I asked about that, they said I didn’t pay for that. I DID PAY FOR THAT. After that, the guy was incredibly rude about it to me and gave me the wax to paint on… I am being charged to wash my own car? FUCK THESE GUYS.

Have given MBCW several chances but the place has never impressed. Rude staff inside and out, lack of attention to detail on the washes — regardless of whether you go for the pricier, high-​end «VIP» service or not. Last time I got my car washed there one of the dryers flat-​out refused to clean the dashboard and radio — actually got into an argument with several of the other guys working on other cars because he didn’t feel like doing it. I ended up finishing the wash myself, borrowing some rags from the other guys working there. Still finding areas they neglected to vacuum, fingerprints all over the interior glass. Rip-​off joint. Avoid.

Took my car in for its first oil change after getting a new engine. They suggested a few other treatments for the car. Engine flush/​treatment, Fuel injection service. Coast me about $ 180. Three days later the radiator hose comes off killing the alternator and engine. Took it to the Ford dealer they said the clip that connected the hose and the hose its self were in perfect condition, but he clip had been disconnected. The service men at Manhattan Bridge Car wash either intentionally disconnected the clip to cause more damage so I would have to come back for more service, or their complete ineptitude knocked the clip off. Either way they screwed up my engine to the coast of $ 480 bucks. When I went back to get my $ 180 bucks refunded the manager Mohammad get very hostile and refused a refund.
STAY AWAY BAD PEOPLE WORK HERE AND THEY PROVIDE HORRIBLE SERVICE

I visited this place because there were some good reviews and I needed to wash the car after Hurricane Sandy dumped dirty rain on my car. It is cheap… $ 13.95 for the works. And that’s the only good thing. They are pretty slow, waited about 10 minutes and there were 2 cars in front of me.
Quick vacuum of the interior, they soap up the car and use a brush to spread the soap (which is a no because they probably scratched my paint)… then more soaping through machine. After the car was done from the machine, they have two guys «drying» the car. The one guy didn’t know how to put my car in Drive and revved the sh*t out of my engine until I went over and put the car in Drive. Then he couldn’t put it in reverse so I had to do it. The drying was half-​heartedly done, still dripping wet. They did clean the interior windows, except the rear ones on my SUV…
Overall, I would not be going back to this place.

This place is a disaster. Went only because of the reviews i readon Unilocal.Avoid at all costs. My car had rain marks all over the exterior and had to explain to the dryer guy that he ha to clean it off again because it wasnt removed in the wash. They took a cleanser from my trunk which is used on leather and started to spray it on my wheels? Wtf? Upsold from a 10.00 wash to a vip 20.00 wash bc the guy said hes do a grear job… Wow no thanks… Didnt even bother to wipe the dash. Worst car wash experience ever. Also employees are super lazy, slow and look at you like they are doing you a favor.

This place is awesome. Just wanted to give back to the Unilocal community and post some prices. The «works» includes all sorts of stuff for $ 13.95, however, you can also do just the exterior for $ 7.00. Oooorrr… for an additional $ 2.00 they will also vacuum the inside of your car and do a basic cleaning. You have to look for it on the menu. I think it’s just the «full service» package for $ 8.95. You can’t beat it. Even when you only do the exterior, they still clean the inside of your windows for you. Great find.

Just looking at the last Unilocalers review in 2006. I am happy to report that «the works» has only went up to $ 13.95 — tax included. Its a full service wash which includes vacuuming and armour all-​ing the tires!
Good cheap carwash — open 24 hours a day!!! Super friendly staff! I love the store — it has every kind of air freshener and a huge assortment of snacks (a lot of which are under a dollar!!!) So if you are ever about to cross into lower Manhattan via the Manhattan bridge give this place a try. FYI also right down the street from Junior’s!

These guys are quick and to the point when it comes to getting your car clean! Granted, it’s not a super long thoroughfare thru the cleaning apparatus. Best bet is to get «The Works» package, which includes all the waxes, full cleaning and the armor all wax on your tires for $ 12.95. They also have night specials if you just want to get the outside clean without all the fanfare. The guys are pretty pleasant — even if they do hit on you occasionally. They are guys after all. ;)
