Best sandwich and soup shop in the neighborhood. The prices are good for what you get, the people are always friendly, and I appreciate that they take cards without a minimum. The quesadillas are amazing with tortillas hand-made to order. Also, you can’t go wrong with their incredible Cuban sandwich.

This is tiny little place I stumbled upon due to the smell wafting out of the front door. I walked in and was very excited to see cheese sandwiches with a list of items to add like tomatoes, bacon, Jalapeños and egg. I ordered a cheese sandwich with tomatoes and jalapeño and a side of the tomato soup. The sandwich was amazing, lots of gooey melty cheese and fresh crunch from the veggies amazing. I would have given them 5 stars if the sandwich was all I had. The tomato soup was very disappointing, it lacked flavor just was not good at all and that really killed the experience for me. Overall really like the sandwich and will be back

WOW. I had no idea what to expect, but was incredibly happy with my choice to try this quant grilled cheese shop. The menu is small but AMAZING. I got The Original with Muenster and White American and added jalapeños. The sandwich was pretty large compared to other grilled cheese sandwich offerings in NY and the jalapeños were bright green and fresh. It was melted to perfection on buttery bread — the ultimate recipe for grilled cheese perfection.

Guy at the shop was super nice. Great Muenster and white American with tomato. They will make to order! Then go sit at Brooklyn Bridge Park and chow down. Also serve lobster rolls but were out.

Only one person working all summer, so expect to wait for 5 – 10 minutes, but I would wait for 30 for a grilled cheese that good. Get ham on it. And avocado. And hot sauce… I want another.

I actually love the Cuban sandwich here(really the only thing to get here — say what you want about their award winning grilled cheese). But only the 3 star rating because I’ve actually been unable to get the sandwich I want on several occasions. There were a couple occasions where they were out of ham and/or pulled pork, and therefore not serving their Cuban at all, and it wasn’t as if they ran out(it was 11:30 am when I went, and they just didn’t carry it for that day). That was disappointing. Another occasion is when they were just closed inexplicably altogether. But food wise, you can’t beat the Cuban here. It’s not the cheapest in the world, but I encourage you to try it at least once.

This place has everyone fooled. The food isn’t even good and yet every hipster is going crazy because of the location and the«experience». Don’t get me wrong it is better than eating day old vegan noodles while sitting in your lonely overpriced loft. So here is a little secret about this place**** they share the kitchen and a bathroom. Yes thats right. So i decided to get a tour of some office space located in the same building. That was a nightmare. I was hungry so i stopped in and ordered the infamous #3. After recieving my little overpriced soggy sandwich i decided to use the bathroom. The worker from little meunster walks into this public restroom and begins to use it and then begins washing the dishes, pots and pans. I asked where he was from and he told me «lil muenster… we dont have a sink» as he placed a pan on the hairy, mousy floor. I left and gave my #3 to the drug addict on the corner who was begging for money. Good luck here. «The place is to die for… its lovely». Get a life people.

The classic with bacon is my go-to. Pair with their awesome tomato soup, and you’re set. I don’t work in DUMBO, but when I’m there, this place is high on the list. Perfect for a fall day!

Get the #3 and you won’t regret it. It’s as good as everyone here says. I probably shouldn’t have ordered the tomato soup AND jalapeño chips, but I was hungry, hangry even. Think I’ll skip the chips next time and get the soup and #3. Cheesy heaven.

Basically the same stuff as the LES location, but no alcohol(from what I remember) and much smaller menu. The shop is literally a hole in the wall — you go in and order take out. There is barely enough space to eat on the ledges; there are, however, stools to sit on. There is also a little seating area with tables around the block that you can bring your food to and eat at. Would recommend if you are in the area!

Love this place. The grilled cheeses and the hotdogs are killer. Only wish they had a full menu. Their menu isn’t as big as the LES location. And kinda wish they stayed open a bit later… but the neighborhood does die down quite a bit after sundown. Still, awesome quick bite.

Came here for a quick dinner since I was being denied food at ReBar(event happening that I was going to crash). I love me a good grilled cheese sandwich and I was super hungry. I had a pork belly(like Siv L. mentioned, it’s really just bacon) with gruyère and caramelized onions. It definitely hit the spot, a tad overly buttery but good. Not the BEST grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. When they say it’s a tiny takeout, this place is definitely tiny. There is some space by the wall to eat but if it gets packed, definitely not comfortable enough place to sit and eat.

I work in Dumbo twice a week and try to make a point to make a stop here at most once, else I’d get regrettably fat. The first time I passed by, it was a crisp Thursday evening, the smell of grease danced through the doors and cut through the cold air, piquing my gastronomic curiosity. The bubbly lady at the register beckoned me to come in and I took recommendations from her and the chef. I ultimately went with the chef as I grew distrustful of the bubbly lady telling me to order a hot dog at a grilled cheese place. THEPORKBELLYGRILLEDCHEESELIVEDUPTOTHEHYPE. Maybe I’ll try the hot dog some other time when I’m off my pork belly high because that sounded pretty good too.

I started a job in Dumbo a couple months ago so I’m making the lunch rounds. Today is the first decently cool day so what sounds better than grilled cheese and tomato soup? Nothing, that’s what. I got the classic sandwich and a small soup. $ 11. It was more than enough food to fill me up. Grilled cheese was just that, and a really good one. The soup had a little kick and definitely hit the spot. I want to go back and try the Haute Dog. I will be back for sure

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a snack as we were at the Dumbo Arts Festival. The place is quite small so we took our grilled cheeses to go. I ordered the shredded pig belly with gruyère and carmelized onions and my boyfriend ordered one with cheese and spinach. Both were very buttery but good. The shredded pig belly was basically slices of bacon! They are pretty good but as reviews say, quite expensive for a fancy grilled cheese.

I was debating between the three and four stars. The grilled cheese I got(the one with avocado) was good, nicely grilled and crispy with a good balance of ingredients. I admit there’s really not too much of a variety though and the prices are a bit high for grilled cheese. The reason for the star off? The service was really lackluster. The girl behind the counter looked so miserable, like she truly hated her job, I almost felt bad! There’s also no seating at all, which given how its a takeout is not surprising but still… it’d be nice to find a good café type sandwich place in the area. Do note though! There is a nearby park area and there is free DUMBO wifi. So if its nice out and you need to get some work done, go around the block and camp at one of the tables with your grilled cheese. That’s what I did :)

The first time I tried Little Muenster was at a festival and it was delicious. It was no different the second time around when I visited this literally«tiny» shop. I ordered the Ensalada (packed with arugula, pickled caramelized onions, and gruyère). Best grilled cheese sandwich in the neighborhood.

As many who work or live in DUMBO know, we are starved for a decent selection of food to choose from. Little Muenster hits the spot by doing one thing REALLY well. You wouldn’t want to go anywhere else in the area for grilled cheese anymore, especially when they have that knockout butternut squash sammie! Between my coworkers and I, we have tried every one of their sandwiches and all of them are delicious. Love the tomato soup as well as the ginger squash soup. When they started out, their staff was a little… spaced, if you get my drift. Now they have a super professional duo who get those sandwiches out the door. Don’t fall for trying to go on Mondays, as they are closed(many hearts have been broken before). And don’t try to eat there even though they have a little bar. You will smell like cheese forever and feel super cramped as this is definitely a takeout place.

SO delicious. Now that it’s getting freeeeeezing in NY, Little Muenster is the ideal lunch spot. Hot tomato soup and a drippy, cheesy sandwich? Heaven. I love the Asiago sandwich w/Butternut Squash purée. The spot is tiny(as the name implies), but it’s a quick and easy lunch stop when you’re busy /on the go.

The sandwiches are tasty, until you find yourself chewing on a piece of plastic. Either they have a sloppy mis en place, or their space is too small to keep material from cross-contaminating. After watching them cook and after seeing their counter person(a guy with shoulder-length hair) transfer soup from a large pot into a plastic container — without a hairnet nor washing his hands — I think it’s a combination of both.
